  1. A lot was good about it- just a couple of small errors easily fixed.
  2. Wine Connection, Royal Garden Plaza. This was a bit of a mixed 1 really. Service and presentation excellent, nice touch they serve sugar syrup on the side of the juice to adjust to taste. I had 2 excellent glasses of perfectly chilled New Zealand white wine. The mussels were pretty good, but little mean with sauce and chef had shaken pan to death leaving lots of broken shell. Steak was ok not actually that expensive and it showed as a little tough- not helped by fact I nearly sent it back as was on the medium well side not medium. The wife should of ordered medium rare. Mash was excellent as were fries. Creme brulee was good- and huge, enough for 2 people easily. Also had a coffee- note they add +10% service, but i'd of tipped that as service was good. Total 1700 baht. I'd definitely go back but probably for a glass of wine and 1 of their cold platters.
  3. Bit of a weird mix delicate fish with a super spicy curry. i have a bit of a weird history with jungle curry mix ups
  4. Hope everyone who can comes tonight to show their respects. We can all take some terrible pictures which would of amused Baz greatly.
  5. I thought that but couldn’t be certain my mum was correctly using orange and grande marnier lol
  6. On holiday it is expensive. living here not so much- it’s far cheaper when you aren’t in a rush because you have a plane home soon. I have never worked it out tbh but it feels every month I live here/ Asia I spend less
  7. Often on a Saturday in uk I would video chat with a friend in thailand as she showed me how to cook thai food, and we would cook along together. Then some weekends I’d show here to cook western food
  8. Big childhood memory for me was as a treat my mum making crepes Suzette - will have to hunt it down somewhere. Could do it at home but wasted on wife as she would not like alcohol element. crepes the old French classic with Nutella, but I go lemon and sugar
  9. First time I had done it myself from scratch- so little slow- but reckon could do them in 15 minutes in future. the real honey is a winner- bit like real maple syrup.
  10. Home made pancakes, with real northern thai honey ( beware of fake crap they sell in pattaya ) and cream. first ever attempt
  11. You never ordered street food? That’s how it comes- standard procedure. What’s weird about having a tablet in kitchen- I often have tv on ipad when cooking. Plus it’s modern version of a cookbook.
  12. A lovely set menu in the Verdant hotel in Kuala Lumpur. Pumpkin soup was to die for, followed by fried mackerel. Bbq sauce bit weird with fish - though it is a strong fish. however new 1 on me was awesome tempura cucumber, when dipped in sauce was amazing. pudding- sorbet was great with chocolate soil. The cake not to my taste but it was a very Asian style cake. No ++ added or charge for credit card 1 bottle of white wine sitting on terrace next to infinity pool in centre of KL. Coming in at aprox 1500 baht for 2 people- very reasonable.
  13. Good old street food- very busy evening street stall opposite wat chai market. Amazing noodle soups. Set up at about 5 pm and packed about 40 seats until 3am.
  14. Man that table on left in Secrets me and Baz sat and chatted so many times. Sadly not really got photos of us together -he’d so often take photos for us and send them to me.
  15. RIP Baz- still shell shocked now it’s confirmed, really hoped it was fake news.
  16. Well hope they have deep pockets- no customers in other 2 bars i saw at about 4 pm which were fully staffed. Perhaps a switch end of lease on 1 move to another.......
  17. It's hard actually for a native English speaker to learn other languages. Basically because most of the world wants to learn English they talk to you in English.
  18. Weird in that picture they want to hire 5 housekeepers- yet everyone has said hotel is totally sewerage from Scooters. They certainly have f***d a lot of the outside.
  19. Basically yes - very similar if i'd added beef. My mum would also add a touch of sherry or brandy.
  20. Didn’t get photos but had an amazing place doing tacos siem reap in a restaurant at about 25 baht each
