  1. Procrastinated by watch movie High Fidelity...getting ready to go outside to clean up the garden before winter
  2. ...official switch over from outside to now indoors. Grow lights on - Dill and Cilantro just started to sprout. Blueberries look good, should be ready in about a month. And rosemary, I just brought inside a potted plant
  3. ...I believe in the Philippines, if you are married to a filipino , you can return to the Philippines anytime now. And that also includes foreigners on retirement visas. Only downside, Duerta plans on keeping boarders closed for the rest of us until after 2nd quarter 2021. I guess my trip I was planning for Cebu & Davao will not happen early next year.
  4. ...nice to see lights are on @ night. great pics!!!
  5. Anybody spend the day over in Sriracha? Is it even worth spending the night there and making it a 2day/overnight stay town? What are the key places to see/do in Sriracha?
  6. Happy Anniversary Professor! Hope you have a great day tomorrow!
  7. ...went with Magna Carta and Tony! thxs Guys!
  8. btw, Lazada sells perlite & vermiculite too. I would suggest you buy those to help aerate the potting mix. Speaking about potting, they sell some good potting soil too on Lazada
  9. ...this season, I did succession planting. My 3rd and final set, I grew in either Grow-Bags or Air Pots. Using both these types of containers sped up the growth time along with making them grow extra big. I think the Air Pots/or similar did the best in making my tomato plants over 6 feet tall. I think I’ll buy more fake/knock off Air pots from Lazada when I can get back into Thailand.
  10. just finished watch the Netflix - The English Game . A six part series
  11. JL - all wonderful pics!!! The Nakula Seafood Market is great. Yes, important to pick out your own “fresh” seafood, but really isn’t that hard. Fresh and great prices. Even better, puck out your items and then head next door to all the older thai ladies who’ll cook up your fresh items. You can then sit by the chairs or grass and enjoy a feast...if you haven’t done that, I suggest you do. They’ll only charge about 20 baht or so to cook up each item however you like
  12. So, in the past I bought regular western style bbq’s. Weber circle dome for charcoal and rectangular stainless steel for the gas grill. I still plan to buy a Weber as my charcoal grill... But, for the gas - thinking about a thai brand...any thoughts, ideas out there??? Anybody bought this or something similar?
  13. ...nice! Just bought a place @ Center Condo, won’t have any excuses for missing out/getting over to the Tues/Fri market!
  14. ...how about this one for #50 baht to use to charge phone, clock and lamp?
  15. ...just read about the King, his life, Dhaveevatthana, previous 4 wives and now spends time in Munich. Very interesting read. I didn’t know he studied abroad in England as a child.
  16. So it is recommended that I buy a surge protector for my tv/entertainment center. Do I go with the #2,000 baht or the cheaper Panasonic ? Is there really a difference between the two? They both are surge/circuit breakers? Also, I never have attached my fridge to a surge protector, just always directly to the wall. Someone told me that I should use one and another person said not needed....so which one is is ??? Does a refrigerator need to be connected to a surge protector?
  17. ...the more I read about this guy, feel the same and a number of other thoughts. I’m not too much into politics, but with this covid & all this time on my hands, have seen & read far too many unpleasant things about the current Thai PM
  18. ...so, before I get started, I am Asian-American and about a quarter of my relatives have at least some or 1/2 Chinese heritage. The Chinese family across the street, slightly to the left, moved in 9 months ago and have never mowed their lawn. My neighbors have politely offered them use of their lawn mower if needed.....and still no mowing done....just a jungle of high grass. The neighbors directly across the street, put a canoe on top of their car, packed up few things and took them & their kids on a vacation for a couple of weeks. They asked me to water their lawn. I noticed that there all of a sudden seems to be dog crap on the lawn. Another neighbor to my right came by to chat in the afternoon and told me the other Chinese family to my right, they will come out with their dog at night , walk across the street where the family is now on vacation, will let the dog crap on the lawn, won’t pick up the crap and then walk back across the street to go inside. I happened to be outside yesterday talking with another neighbor when the chinese guy to my right went to go to the mail box. I politely said hi to the chinese guy, told him that if he could from now on pick-up after his dog it would be appreciated. I smiled and tried to keep it friendly....no reply, but mumbled something in chinese as he was walking away from us towards the mailbox. The neighbor talking with me started to move towards the chinese guy, but I pulled him back and told him to just leave it alone..... A few of the neighbors plan this weekend to go over and mow the lawn of the chinese family that has never mowed their lawn....
  19. ...initial wasn’t looking, but a lot of foreign sellers vs. very very few buyers. Took a look at the rolling 6/12/18 month #’s. Lots of the buildings I prefer to buy into have sellers heavily discounting their units @ this current time. I of course would prefer to oversee the remodel work in person, but given the current situation, very much would chose low cost/discounted unit vs waiting.
  20. ...sold my condo here last year. Now in the process of buying another, this time in Central Pattaya. Currently, home abroad so dealing will agents via messenger/line and doing real time virtual tours. Hope to have one purchased soon....then begin a whole demo project from afar and have it ready when Thailand opens back-up/when I return.
