  1. Brilliant Used to love dipping into books of facts as a kid. Sort of infotainment but you did pick up lots of knowledge. Guiness Book of Records was another great favourite of mine. A great prep for the rigours of adult life, such as the pub quiz😀
  2. One "shrewd" tipsters bet of the weekend On the plus side he's tipped Liverpool to win tonight🥳
  3. I shewdly dropped him while playing my wildcard this weekend. Partly redeemed myself by dropping Estupian and bring in Robertson. Have left him on the bench this week as he's up against the mighty Spurs!!!

Beginnig to look a little embarassing, top players between by 9 holes with 7 to play American coach talking of illness in the camp https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/golf/66967308

Been a great listen on the radio. I may creep down the pub for the afternoon😀
  8. Thanks Pump, interesting thoughts on Spain. I've only ever made as far as Barcelona a couple of times! Will add Alicante to my relatively short bucket list. I don't intend to stop travelling just because I'm based in Thailand
  9. Well your money, your choice. Spain/Portugal sounds lovely. I'm sure the expats there, never, ever complain about their host government!!! I don't doubt you are correct that the Thai Govt is after your money, and has no love for you. The Thailand Elite program is prima facie evidence of the former. But I still fancy giving living in Thailand a go for a while, and I'll take the hit the in loss of interest. Maybe the attitudes you describe will drive me elsewhere in time, who knows?
  10. Thanks for the info. In my case you seem to have answered your original question😉 Am in agreement with @Stillearly I'll take hit on the loss of interest, let's call it £500 to be fully compliant. I find it a wierd risk to take to looking to save £500 p.a as the upside, and on the downside placing yourself in a vulnerable position, where you can be tapped for "fines" or booted out of the country. But we all have our own circumstances I'm seperating out what I need to live as one concern. So there's a large monthly transfer each month, and some savings for a rainy day. Then as a seperate concern, what I need to be compliant. That's most likely going to be a ring-fenced 20k on fixed term deposit. So I will have most likely, do a transfer of around £2k pcm, the £20k for a fixed term account, + accumulate a building balance in a flexible account paying a little interest. So put me down as the "crazy" 80k THB man😛 Good topic, and thanks from me you've helped clarify a very key point(proof of income), and solidified my thinking.
  11. An autobiography, had never heard on the author till hearing him name checked recently. Has a real dig at Phil Mickelson in the foreword- think I'm going to enjoy this.
  12. Cheers for that, I apologise if I was being daft! That's going to be easy to comply with.
  13. I don't have the 65k monthly income. I've opted out of my company pension and have done a far better job of managing my own cash. I could afford to do a bank transfer for that amount into a Thai bank each month, but does that count as income? I've got no private or government pension, so can't as such give what I would consider as proof of income. I am going to retire to Thailand starting next week!! What would you do if like me you couldn't prove you had the income. Put 800k in a bank or use an agent? PS- apologies if I've misunderstood the income requirements. Asking a genuine question
  14. Just watched a Buddy Holly documentary. Knew every song word for word, yet all written before and performed I was born, not sure how I knew them though!
  15. David McCallum https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-66919863 Loved him as a kid in the Man from Uncle, and Sapphire & Steel.
  16. I've not managed to beat him in the head to head with 11 men and a triple captain😭 Wild card is coming out next week!!!
  17. I had an unused chip last year as lost interest near the end of the season, so thought I'd get in early in. I'll use the bench boost in a double game week. By the time that comes Man C could have league wrapped up, and/or Pep chooses to rest him. I am though wrong most of the time with football!!
  18. That iron willpower of yours🙂 I left Rashford in mine, didn't contemplate using the wildcard, thought it was too early for that. Have though used my triple captain on Haaland.
  19. Have you already used your wildcard then or saving that?
  20. I'd check out Bhumrangrad. On their website you can filter doctors by their specialism and get a detailed record of their qualifications and experience. I needed to see a shoulder specialist in Jan for some rehab. On their website I was able to narrow the search down to 3 specialists, all of whom had studied in the UK or the US. The doctor I went with had specifically concertrated on shoulder injuries. She was excellent as was the physio I was then referred to.
  21. Relieved I wasn't up against a decent side like the Camden Goths last week🙂
  22. I'm a similair position with @Krapow in the Head to Head. Just hoping for no defensive goal/assists and/or red cards, however unlikely!!
  23. I was stopped looking at the score when we were 1 down after 7 minutes of extra time. Had a fantastic fish and chips that cheered me up as I reflected it just wasn't our day... was stunned to see the final score😀 To be fair to your Maddison selection, doubt anyone forsaw a Richarlson goal and assist.
  24. It's that traditional early part of the Spurs season before optimisim hits reality😝 Do like Ange though, our football's been unwatchable for too long now. Huge relief that are we are trying to beat teams again not bore them to death!!
  25. That -4 has taken your, temproraily below me. As a Spurs fan I won't mind Son have a stormer.
