  1. Thailand in my opinion is not the place to be when we're elderly. Despite having had cancer at 42 its not reoccured touch wood and as such my annual insurance is very cheap (after 10 years its no longer reflected in premiums) around £48 for unlimited trips but individually maximum 60 days. But the day I suffer from a stroke or heart attack etc will be the last day I go to Thailand because I wouldnt want to potentially put burden on my children in the future. I know the coverage will be good for first incident (if actually in Thailand) but I wouldnt trust coverage subsequently
  2. Long time friend of mine (only from Pattaya) went in yesterday for a look first time said it was very nicely fitted out but lacked girls and certainly lacked customers. My estimate of closed by October looks far too generous with hindsight. What possessed Scooters to think that was an ideal location. 100s if not 1000s could have told them it was a dead soi with tiny footfall. I've not even seen any social media popping up over them come to that although assume they have some. Place is utterly tainted by the smell of Abrahams and always will be
  3. Absolutely savage. Lifted from Pattaya Talk from last night after the guy had been in Sapphire for their sunday night special prices. Theres no indication what time it was but almost certainly post 9pm I'd imagine. Enough people here said that was a poison chalice and doomed " Being a sentimental fellow I then had a look in Secrets to see how it was doing. Sadly there was not a single punter in the place yet about eight members of staff were standing about doing nothing. Rather than gloating I must admit to feeling a bit sorry for them as it's not their fault that customers seem to have been avoiding the place for at least the last couple of years. I did not buy a drink and walked straight out again."
  4. I spoke to my mate who had sent to his wife the previous day with no issues via TW albeit existing client. He said no additional details were required than normal. Its possible you got red flagged for any of a myriad of reasons which could be a random check He had used main website though
  5. I've not used since December. Is this something new for existing customers or only new customers ?? Sounds as if going by whats happened to your TG it looks like everyone
  6. We could well see further Sterling gains this coming week. Its clear the Tories have agreed they must compromise with Corbyn to get a deal over the line. The MEP elections are not set in stone and an agrement and successful commons vote prior to 23rd May is highly possible Watch Sterling go if that indeed is the outcome. Expect an immediate rise to $1.40 the same day "Fresh urgency" Theresa May is shouting this Sunday morning after shocking local election results "Lets do a deal" her own words
  7. Further to own post just above Sterling finished 42 dead Interbank. Surge was down partly to the Fed talking of a rate cut in the US and partly to traders in London taking the position that Tories and Labour will finally come to an agreement over Brexit TTs should be around 41.75 for weekend
  8. Sterling will be higher this weekend it surged to 42.04 Interbank earlier but edged down slightly now at 41.93 TTs should be around 41.70 Saturday unless any major movement tonight (unlikely)
  9. Dollar holding above 32 against the weakening Baht at 32.04 interbank
  10. 32.07 Interbank live rate so will be very close to 32 at Yellow TT exchanges. Kasikorn nailed their colours to the mast previously whereby they expect 35/36 by June. Its gradually weakening out at the moment
  11. Baht weakening out again against the Greenback good news for all. Just had look at interbank and its 32.01 highest its been for some months certainly last year. Just a pity Sterling/Dollar is also lowest its been for some time and has nullified the weakening Baht for Brits
  12. I've always fancied stopping in Oman on the way over for a couple days on the beaches
  13. Following with interest because have never been to Vietnam but want to go Da-Nang this winter for say couple weeks as a side trip
  14. ^^ Well lets wait and see where we are after 12 months. When I started this thread overall I said no pump and dump tactics and there wont be but if you are keen to invest in oil short term watch the share Angus Energy that I tipped earlier last week. I may well have got the perfect entry point on that one
  15. The following is not myself but lifted from elsewhere. Personally I have no idea how busy Secrets was originally at the same time of day "After an afternoon on Soi 6 with a couple of mates yesterday we decided to check out the new Scooters at Secrets on the way back to Pratumnak. All I can is that it is not an afternoon / early evening venue. When we arrived, around 6pm, there were three staff behind the bar, no girls and no customers. Had the prices been more Scooter like we might have stayed for a drink but at that time it was not worth paying 145 baht for a Heineken to sit in an empty bar"
  16. You've prompted me to mention Grand Tour 3 and one of the last episodes when they're doing one of their road trips and they came across 100s of nodding donkeys. Probably some here saw it was within last 2-3 weeks but they went from car to car with Hamster Clarkson and May just stating what oil is used for and even I was flabbergasted at its uses and ended up with Hamster finally ending with ".....and of course petrol" Staggering 100s and 100's of uses but we only tend to associate it with fuel
  17. Ukog is down since I tipped but certainly not too late. As in February its a 12 month hold. They are awaiting arrival of rig currently (literally like now) to drill 4 wells on existing Horse Hill site all approved and funded and over next 1-2 months have an application in for planning for 5 more wells waiting to be considered. Its a "safe" longer term investment because they are already receiving daily income from the tankers leaving HH from the initial well with estimates of 25 years of production but in the short term expect volatility hence the orginal post of not for widows and ophans
  18. It does appear somewhat undervalued Bazle I agree. I wouldnt average down if I had bought in higher but see no reason to offload if I was holding myself. Certainly a little flat over the course of the last 12 months
  19. Keep an eye on that Angus Energy who I invested in above on Wednesday. They issued a surprising RNS after hours last night announcing all approvals had been given and all systems go. It certainly wasnt expected quite yet. Expect a gap up on open Monday
  20. 41.63 at time of post friday pretty stable at the moment
