  1. ^^^ Respect to LEO's involved, but I cringed when I saw the officer start shooting at the lowlife in the Walmart parking lot with the building and other civilians in the line of fire. At the 01:24 mark you can see a silver car backing out of a parking spot as the lowlife runs past the car with the officer shooting at him. Also at that distance the officer had little chance of accurate fire with his handgun. Lucky for the driver of the car he didn't catch a stray round. Edited to add: And WTF, putting the lowlife uncuffed into the passenger seat of the K9 vehicle with the keys in the ignition and a rifle that was probably unlocked with a key on the key ring.
  2. I only use two wheels or two feet to get around Pattaya, so traffic backups don't really impact me. As for the Sukhumvit road construction, you're ok if you're going southbound, but northbound can have huge backups. I live just south of the northbound underpass entrance and often times see traffic backed up on Suk as they wait to enter the underpass. That means you'll have a long wait in traffic to get to the Hwy 7 entrance.
  3. Sounds like quite the cluster fck of cars, bikes and pedestrians on the road in Jomtien right now. https://www.facebook.com/Thepattayanews/posts/1346131616155416
  4. Ski hats off to the camera and editing crew that produced this video.
  5. A video I saw showed them spraying water out of the rooms' windows. In the short clip it looked like they were missing the fire more than they hit it, but in the end they got the job done in a short amount of time. There are also standpipes built into high rise buildings to allow firefighters to pump water to floors an aerial ladder wouldn't be able to reach. They may have used those standpipes today.
  6. I question the news report that the first call to the FD was at 13:36 as the pictures I took were 12 minutes later at 13:48 and the fire was out by then. Still, the FD did an impressive job of putting out the fire as quickly as they did. More Than 100 Tourists Flee Fire at Luxury Condo in Pattaya, No Major Injuries A fire broke out today mid-afternoon at a room on the 11th floor of the Edge, a prestigious luxury condominium in the heart of Pattaya City. Luckily, other than two people with minor smoke inhalation related issues, there were no injuries. At precisely 1:36 p.m., the Pattaya Public Disaster Prevention Department and Mitigation Radio Center received an urgent report of a fire at the Edge Central Pattaya Condominium, Nongprue, Chonburi. Multiple firefighters and rescue workers from the Sawang Boriboon Dhamma Sathan in Pattaya City immediately raced to the scene where flames licked the walls, smoke billowed from windows, and water cascaded down the facade. Many people were filming the situation and taking photos and sharing them on social media. Over a hundred residents and tourists, some with luggage and bags, were seen fleeing the building and gathering around the outside. Five fire trucks sprayed torrents of water, battling the flames for nearly 20 minutes until they finally subsided leaving only a thick cloud of smoke. ... Fire officials confirmed to Thai media that the fire originated from the air conditioning equipment in the room in question. The inferno rapidly consumed the room, leaving it severely damaged but without an estimated cost of damages at this time.
  7. Looks like there was a room fire at the Edge condos that spread to the exterior cladding. To the credit of the Pattaya Fire Dept and The Edge for using non-flammable cladding, by the time I got there the fire was out.
  8. Something may have got lost in the translation, but if I heard the ladies correctly, the new bar where Fever used to be is opening this Monday and the name will be "It's So Bad". Like I said, I think something got lost in translation even though I repeated the name back to the ladies to make sure what I heard was correct. I'll be watching for the bar sign to go up for confirmation on the bar name.
  9. I believe the password reset on PA was in response to a few dormant accounts getting hacked. It was noticeable because there were spam posts from BM's who had many legitimate prior posts, but hadn't posted in several years before the spam posts started turning up. That doesn't appear to be an issue on 247, so no real reason to force BM's here to reset their passwords.

  11. I think the engineering challenge with Starship is controlling the huge mass of the ship so it's properly oriented for reentry. From Manley's video it looks like they never had full control of the ship as it started to hit the upper fringes of atmosphere. Still it's remarkable how far SpaceX has come over the last decade.
  12. Welcome back. How long has it been?
  13. Fortunately nobody was killed in this incident. What baffles me is why they would dock a ship with an unexpended round in the barrel directly in line with another ship. Frigate damaged by ammunition from another naval ship A gun shot from HTMS Chonburi accidentally struck HTMS Khirirat on Thursday, causing a fire and injuring 13 soldiers. Both Thai navy vessels were anchored at Laem Thian Pier, Sattahip Naval Base, in Chon Buri province. The incident took place at 11.50am when the naval gun shot discharged from the front gun of HTMS Chonburi hit the rear section of HTMS Khirirat. Firefighters swiftly responded to control the blaze aboard the warship. The Royal Thai Navy said 13 soldiers were injured, 10 of them in serious conditions. According to media reports, many suffered from smoke inhalation. An earlier report said three people were injured. HTMS Chonburi had returned from a firing drill on Wednesday and had returned to the base for repairs, as one of its guns had malfunctioned during the operation, with an unexpended round still in its ported barrel.
  14. Noticeable during reentry while they still had a video signal was a fair amount debris sluffing off. Video cued to start at that point. What's remarkable is the HD video of the ship beginning to hit atmosphere and the resulting plasma generated. BTW, Scott Manley's channel is a very good channel for info having to do with space flights.
  15. Over the Indian Ocean, so no eyes on the sky there.
  16. They've lost telemetry which means there's a good chance they lost Starship during reentry.
  17. Just incredible video during reentry.
  18. Saw that as well. What I think has happened is Musk is only using X and the SpaceX website to broadcast the launch. Some great video on their website stream which is what I've been watching. They're now at T + 15 minutes into the launch and Starship is now in orbit and coasting for the next 30 minutes. https://www.spacex.com/launches/mission/?missionId=starship-flight-3
  19. Third test flight of the Starship is scheduled to launch in a little over an hour from now.
  20. Peanut butter on green apples, substitute the raisins with dates, and you have an even more remarkable taste combination. Peanut Butter Apple Nachos
  21. Just to make it clear, I gave the thumbs up for not burning the corn stalks, not for you taking a rusty old pitchfork up the arse.
  22. Jackass, master of stupid human tricks.
  23. I had not heard of the wave organ before. Well done to the artist that thought of it and installed it.
