  3. Pattaya Shutdown! Severe restrictions on movement and closure of hotels among new measures as Covid-19 cases rise rapidly A top level meeting yesterday of the governor of Chonburi, district chiefs, mayors and health personnel decided on a ten point plan that is set to be signed and implemented today. The measures will leave any tourists remaining in Pattaya at the whim of hotel owners as to whether they will stay open, notes Thaivisa. It includes curfew measures, the closure of hotels, restriction on employees leaving the province and the shutdown of Pattaya. No one will be able to go in and out of the resort unless it is absolutely necessary. The meeting heard that infections in Chonburi had rocketed to 61. The new measures are: 1. Each district sets up their own taskforce to ensure compliance with the regulations 2. Hotels and places that resemble hotels are to close down and employees are to stay at the hotels and not leave Chonburi to go home. Hotels that still have guests were given three days to decide whether to close down or stay open. 3. Pattaya will be sealed off. No one will be allowed to go in or out. Checkpoints will decide on special cases. 4. All beaches in Chonburi are to close to any social gathering but swimming is still allowed. 5. Gas stations are to close between 10 pm and 5 am. 6. All markets are to shut. 7. People are asked to observe an 11pm to 5 am curfew (if the government announces separate regulations to be followed people must follow the government orders). 8. Certain commercial businesses are to be ordered shut (This vague reference was not explained, notes Thaivisa) 9. There is to be no assemblies at reservoirs. 10. Male and female hairdressers can remain open for haircutting only. All tattooists and nail salons are to shut. All these regulations will apply when signed by the governor. That is expected to happen today, notes Thaivisa. https://forum.thaivisa.com/topic/1157476-pattaya-shutdown-severe-restrictions-on-movement-and-closure-of-hotels-among-new-measures-as-covid-19-cases-rise-rapidly/#comments Source: 77kaoded

  11. A bloke was at the barber shop getting his hair cut before going on holiday. The barber asked where he was going and he replied "Rome". "Rome?" said the barber, "Why would anyone want to go there? It's crowded and dirty. You're crazy to go to Rome. So, how are you getting there?" "BA," was the reply. "I got a great rate!" "BA?" exclaimed the barber. "That's a terrible airline. Their planes are old, their flight attendants are ugly, and they're always late. So, where are you staying in Rome?" "I'll be at this exclusive little place over on Rome's Tiber River called Teste." "Don't go any further. I know that place. Everybody thinks it’s gonna be something special and exclusive, but it's really a dump." "Well, I'm not going there for the hotel, I'm going to the Vatican and maybe get to see the Pope." "That's rich," laughed the barber. "You and a million other people trying to see him. He'll look the size of an ant. Boy, good luck on this lousy trip of yours, you're going to need it." A month later, the bloke comes in again and the barber asks about his trip to Rome. "It was wonderful," says the bloke. "Not only were we on time in one of BA's brand new planes, but it was overbooked, and they bumped me up to first class. The food and wine were wonderful, and I had a gorgeous young stewardess who waited on me hand and foot. And the hotel was great! They'd just finished a $5 million remodeling job, and now it's a jewel, the finest hotel in the city. They were overbooked too, so they apologized and gave me their Presidential suite at no extra charge!" "Well," muttered the barber, "that's all well and good, but I know you didn't get to see the Pope." "Actually, I was quite lucky, because as I toured the Vatican, a Swiss Guard tapped me on the shoulder, and explained that the Pope likes to meet some of the visitors, and if I'd be so kind as to step into his private room and wait, the Pope would personally greet me. Sure enough, five minutes later, the Pope walked through the door and shook my hand! I knelt down and he spoke a few words to me." "Oh! What'd he say ?" He said: "Who the <deleted> cut your hair?"
