  1. Perhaps they had just removed all the mirrors for cleaning ....
  2. Because of recent events here I thought fuckit and syphoned off a strawberry wine and passion fruit wine. Both tasted strong but were a bit syrupy ...So I put a splash of Hongthong in a glass, slowly added the strawberry then the passion fruit to create a "Dangleberry Sunrise" in honour of the crap Tequila Sunrises that I used to drink in The Old Dunne Cow in Darlo in the 70s whilst picking out my horses! Cheers!
  3. I love that stuff...absolutely bloody love it .. but when I have had it here it just wasn't the same. Another favourite is HobGoblin especially the tag line "Frightened you might taste something lagerboy!"
  4. Everything is clear now. The road drainage did the job !!
  5. Funnily enough one option mooted last night was for me to lay down and block the doorway with my belly!!
  6. I was talking to a friend last night about doing something for my house (rather than the whole area) and it wouldn't really take much effort or cost to seal off. I have only been flooded twice here in 10 years and the first time was because the storm trenches and culvert hadn't been cleared out, so it is only really once in 10 years, which indicates how quick and strong the rainfall was on Friday! What happened last Friday was (IMO) very unusual so I'd just like to say that any YT comments slagging off the local Thai Government inability to provide sufficient drainage, especially the beaches, are talking out their arses!
  7. When I look at this pic I imagine it standing on its rear wheels, the driver with his hand up out the window and shouting "Hi Ho Silver away!"
  8. - Yes it is raining. - Yes the road is flooded and water level rising - Yes I'm pissed off.
  9. Sorry mate, I understand. I shouldn't take out my niggles on innocent parties! It's just not publicly known how shit Secrets treated their drivers, fining them for not refueling even though they could drive to Hua Hin and beyond on what was in the tank.
  10. I hope it was only from Nirun to Secrets and that he got fined for not refuelling the vehicle like the Secrets drivers did !!
  11. I am very lucky! Mr Egg sent his sexiest employee! I ain't talking BS, but the chips are fucking excellent. Perfect! Haven't got to the cod yet....
  12. Federal Firearms License or Fetal Foot Length is all I get from google..
  13. I love Pattaya, but then again I have found a place that suits me. My own little spot of Isaan within a short walk to the Baht bus. Regarding the steak on a long Asian tour......I get that. I worked around the countryside of numerous PRC Provinces in the early 90s for 2 years eating fantastic food every day. Most local specialties were never eaten outside the Province, but what sticks in my mind is eating pizza in the shangralila in Hangzhou washed down with Dragon Seal red! (This was 30 years ago!!!!) As to Pattaya being "old" after a few trips..I get that too! In my working days I had a general rule of thumb "You haven't been to a place unless you have been there 6 months but if you have been there 2 years you have been there too long" All I can say further is that Lazarus is right. Strange things have started to grow. I left home in '72 to join the Army.I have had a fantastic life of danger, excitement and travel but now roots have starting to grow !!!!!
  14. No cod and chips for me today I'm afraid - the rain has started already!!
  15. I typed "Why do kids love Disneyworld" into Google ..... “We've all known the power of attracting emotions through strong storytelling, and that's what makes Disney so unique. At Disney, it's about the power of narrative and being able to create a world with a theme and characters, to draw emotions that are common to all people around the world.” EDIT = To point out that is their bold highlights not mine!
  16. The clouds are looking ominous this morning...I bet FBWU is out there with his camera already !!
  17. Ronaldo to UTD not CITY ........That is gonna cause a conundrum for some FPL managers ... but not for me ...I have a plan!
  18. As some sort of indication of how much rain fell in such a short time ...... .....7 hours after it stopped raining the road is still about 1 foot under water and it is still being fed by the storm trench. All the drains are working no problem. There is just too much coming in !!
  19. That's very very nice of you mate. A very kind offer. I have now cleaned everything down now as I only have a small place. I'm just waiting for the road to drain in the next couple of hours before sweeping my bit of the road ......
  20. You've just reminded me ...I used to have one of those high pressure hoses on my farm "In the village" ... but that ended up round at the in-laws along with all my other good stuff..
  21. Yep my neighbour has one and is using it now ... whilst I lie on my bed finished (for the moment) My room and patio is only small..The road is still a river and the storm trench is still flooding the general area..and the sun is shining!!
  22. Yep, I've been through this a few times. What I have learnt in the past is to wait until the flood water is about half inch deep in your room and receding then work like f**k with a stiff brush sweeping it out the door. Do this a few times then chuck buckets of clean water, with disinfectant in, over the floor then sweep it all out the door. Then mop with clean water. If you leave it to clear then dry then you really are in the shit. This is the main reason I stayed. My arms are like jelly at the moment but I have to hose down the patio next and wait for the road to empty before sweeping up outside but that will be late tonight or early tomorrow
