  1. I did think about reviving my old thread about returning to England but as Jambo started this one I'll just do an add on as to what he might expect when he gets out, this post is about a thread I vaguely remember being on here and it's about UK v thai customer service. I've been out of self isolation now since last Monday and here's my view on the service I've had in every aspect of the often maligned UK customer service including Heathrow airport. UK passport control. Couldn't fault it, friendly and efficient. National Express, Heathrow. Spot on even though the bus was late all staff were helpful and friendly especially the driver. Security woman at smoking point at Heathrow. Again very friendly and helpful and chatty and helped me find the bus station. Even the staff in the WH Smith were really helpful. Local stores. Extremely friendly and helpful. The Russian lad I bought my car from. No problem at all. The girl I dealt with at my local Nationwide bank. So helpful and friendly, brilliant. The staff at my local Universal Credit office ( Job Centre ). Again no complaints from me. The Doctor I did my HGV medical with. Fantastic and again helpful and friendly. My local Doctors surgery where they asked me to go in and confirm my identity. Again they were brilliant, efficient and friendly. Specsavers branch in town. Brilliant, got me in at very short notice to sort me out for some glasses after I'd failed my HGV medical due to eye test ( I won't comment on the thai opticians who sold me a pair and insisted I'd pass the eye test ) The list could go on and I'm sure I've missed something but so far every member of staff in any shop I've been in has been great and after years of the thai way of customer service I've been really happy and impressed. So far I've never had the feeling they're in any way trying to con me and let's face it how often can you say that about thai shops ? Hopefully when Jambo gets released he can comment on his experience.
  2. Sitting here and debating what to do now my self isolation has now finished and I'm free ! I'll admit now I wasn't strict about it and did have daily trips down to the local Co-op but today I'm off into town to sort out my bank and doctors and to have a wander around the local precinct and then off to Morrisons. Sad old git that I am I'm actually excited about it.
  3. Just finished binge watching the 2 series. Got to say I thought it was brilliant and very cleverly made. Well worth a look.
  4. I'm still a fan but I'm thinking that these last 2 Chinese items were never even in stock ? I'll wait until I'm back in England and order them via ebay as they have them available in there.
  5. Generally they've been pretty good but in the last couple of months I've noticed the delivery is getting longer. Even now I've just looked and something I ordered and paid for on the 14th May is still showing as processing and hasn't been dispatched yet, and this is supposedly only coming from Bangkok ? A couple of items ordered from China were supposed to be here no later than the 15th May and they're showing as still in Chinese customs ?
  6. That's the part that got me. When I had PAYG calls were silly money, just delved a bit deeper and it seems like calls to a thai mobile are 3p a minute.
  7. https://www.uswitch.com/mobiles/compare/no_credit_check_sim_only_deals/ I just tried here and found these deals, surely they're too good to be true ? Oh and I checked Lebara and they use the Vodafone network so they must be legit ??
  8. I vaguely remember having a tesco sim the last time I was over there and never an issue with it and guess who's coming up trumps on the site below ? Tesco. Cracking site that, thanks. No data carry over now by the looks of it but decent deals by them.
  9. Sure I read somewhere that Villa Park had already offered but has been turned down ? Spurs place would be a good alternative ?
  10. I've been looking at EE as they seemed to do well in the comparisons I've looked at, I did their calculation and it came out at 1.8gb. I did roughly the same on the site you gave me with a lot of different questions and it came up as 'unlimited' ??
  11. Question now for the phone techie people on here as I have zero idea. When I get back I'm going to need a simcard, probably a PAYG to start ? Now I'm seeing all sorts of plans for how many GB I might need, my question is what would I need ? I'll be using the phone for calls and texts and online I'll be using whatsapp and messenger and maybe Line, I doubt very much I'll be watching youtube or movies or doing much searching online so how many GB will I be ok with ?
  12. Coincidence or what ? I bought some insurance for Covid on Wednesday this week as a precaution against me failing the fit to fly test and being hauled off to one of the luxury cells for quarantine. I bought it and paid for it online and apart from a couple of slight issues where they got my email address wrong which they sorted quite quickly I'm happy with their service so far. They also told me they would send me the documents via the post in the next 7-10 days. It arrived this morning via EMS and the bloke rang my bell and got my signature. All good for me and as a big complainer about customer service here I have to say I've been impressed.
  13. Don't be silly. That'd involve a bit of common sense and how much of that is there in football nowadays ?
  14. Sure is, reminds me of my old school reports and my success rates with women here.
  15. Heat I can live with but the humidity here is the killer for me and the same as above, I miss the seasons too.
  16. Nicked this from Richard Barrow's facebook page. Impressive eh !
  17. I'm pretty sure I read on there they weren't doing them ? Just had a look at their website and I can't see any mention of a covid test at all.
  18. Thanks for that and it at least gives me another option. I had an issue with BPH too a few years back but luckily a mate got there and got me out before I got milked any worse than it already was.
  19. I need the test for flying and as far as I know BPH are the only hospital here now that are accepted for fit to fly tests.
  20. And as far as I'm aware they have the monopoly around here for that testing. I've tried phoning BPH to find out if I need an appointment for the test and have also emailed them, went on hold on the phone for ages so I gave up and no reply to my email.
  21. Believe it or not there's plenty of those videos on Youtube. I won't post a link as it may annoy Tommy but they're there 100%.
  22. I've said it before and I'll say it again, kick the fuckers out, ban the players from internationals as they're not affiliated with EUFA or Fifa and leave them to get on with it. Maybe even look into getting Celtic and Rangers into the Premier league to liven things up ?
  23. So it's not the R-con on the corner under the hotel ? This place is just before the corner on the right heading from Soi Honey direction ?
  24. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Sums it all up nicely.
