Mate - I have been thinking the same thing for a while now - including Rory and most others. Added muscles means more power and distance, but less feel. But because Tiger is older and stiffer (and all the injuries and scars) he just does not have the flexibility of Zalatoris etc. Just look at how bad Tiger was with his irons, he was worse than Rory - they both have the same trouble - lack of feel when putting some power into the shot. Rory is great when it is all feel (bunkers/up/downs), but from 50-150 he is outside top 100 on tour. Maybe if Rory gave away 5-10kgs muscle and 30-50 yards with driver, that he would become more accurate with irons to the greens. At his best that is what he did - stiffed his irons nearly every time.

I agree - but Tiger has pride and self respect - something JD never had and never will. Sadly he was always going to end up like that - obesely fat alcoholic pissing away money on the pokies - and it is only gonna get worse.

Watched his whole round last night (on playback) - he seemed a lot more focused than before - and he backed off when his drive was not good. On one par 4 he actually laid it up short of the green from the rough, and then got up and down with his great short game - that was good to see. I reckon playing with Tiger helped him - one reason being he was not the centre of attention. But both Jordan and Rory looked a little distracted now and then over the last 4-5 holes - Tiger was in extreme pain - he should not be playing - talk about tough.
  5. I disagree. Young women and alcohol and (for me) playing golf, do wonders for old men !! I am so looking forward to living and playing golf in Thailand, where the girls are so good looking and the caddies too. PS - the wife is AOK too, and she doesn't mind me looking at the others - "look OK - no tutt'.
  6. That is why I never use my main bank account for any direct debits - they dont know how to stop. For larger amounts I always use a single account with a separate bank - for the small amounts I use one account at another bank. At the start of each month I transfer into those accounts just over the amount of funds that are required. When I once stopped a large rental agreement that withdrew funds monthly, I stopped putting money into that account. They tried to withdraw the funds the next month, and when it was rejected they then sent a reminder letter. This went on for months and the letters became more and more threatening. Eventually I called them and explained the situation - I did aghin for another couple of months - they always apologised and said it was an admin error. One person suggested I place the money in the account to stop the problems, and said they will eventually process everything and then refund me all the money. I did not know whether to laugh or yell - I laughed - she became offended - the call did not last much longer. I never trust anyone with my life, my family/friend's lives, or my money. There are too many idiots in the world nowadays. They should have been housewives or street workers, but they got an 'education' and think they are capable.

Great to see - what a group to watch - will be glued for 2 days watching them play. Hope Tiger makes the cut. And I also hope that Rory watches him and realises (finally) that it aint about great shots, it is about the score.
  8. Shane Warne and Rod Marsh and now Andrew Symonds - unbelievable and sad. I saw Symonds play a few Test and One Dayers - he was a throwback to the 'lets have a beer and some fun' days of the 60/70s Australian Cricket. RIP.

Sad about Phil - he will be missed on the PGA Tour. I believe he is the first ever Major winner to elect not to defend his title, for reasons other than injury. I tend to agree with him about the 'super elite tour' concept - the USA PGA are forcing the players to support their own Tour at the expense of growing the game worldwide. Hopefully the rival events will be a success over the next 2-3 years, and the PGA and ET will be forced to compromise. The Asian Tour has already sanctioned the Saudi/Norman big events as a part of their Tour - I reckon because they have been neglected and held back by the PGA and ET. 12 or so annual tournaments held all over the World where the top 50-60 players compete for $25+ Million in prizemoney is a great development and a step forward for the game. 4-5 of the events would be in the USA (3 Majors plus Players plus 1) and the rest would be other countries, but the PGA sees that as a 'threat' to their Tour (which it is), so they demand to maintain their control over where and when the players can play. Phil refused to comply, and went public and has been 'punished' for it. Sergio has recently been attacked for speaking out. Lee Westwood summed it up best I reckon, when he said: "I am an independent contractor". The players are exactly that and they should be able to earn money and make their living where and when it best suits them - not the people who manage the PGA Tour in USA. That's my opinion on the matter. That is one of the most unlucky shots I has seen. But I have seen balls hitting flags/holes and going into water or other unplayable spots. But I have also seen balls hitting trees and going into the hole. Maybe in the future when the tech develops, they will have 3d laser pins. Then the players will hopefully be allowed laser rangefinders and will have perfect distance measurements and there will be no more wasting time measuring yardages.
  10. The first accident I ever had was on a mate's RD350. I was going great and then ........ 'bang' my helmet hit the ground very loudly, and when I had stopped I was flat on my back thinking 'WTF happened?' Luckily his bike was OK - just a few scratches to match all the others 🙂 (me too). But his helmet was cracked - had to buy him another. Never road a bike without a helmet after that - he forced me to wear his, saying 'wear the helmet or no ride' (he knew what the bike could do).
  11. I have read all of the Reacher novels - some are OK and the rest are great. Have you seen the new Reacher Amazon series? Excellent and got a lot of positive reviews - 8.1 on IMDB. The actor is Alan Ritchson and he is big - it makes a huge difference to the look of things and how people react to him because of his size - just like in the books. Well worth watching. They started the series with the first book 'Killing Floor' and it was extremely close to the novel and how it read - a commitment they have made and they kept it. There is scope to keep going in the order of each book and with 26 books that could make many years to go (I hope). Staring with a movie about book 9 (One Shot) was a bad mobe, as was using someone who just does not have the size and feel of a big man that immediately intimidates people just by his sheer size. Ritchson aint the actor Cruise is for sure, but he does the role very well. @Lemondropkid I recommend reading Reacher from Killing Fields if you do go that way - Child draws out his character through each book - he clearly had a plan on how to do that from the beginning. I read One Shot first and then decided to get them all and started reading them all from book 1 - it made One Shot even better the 2nd time around as I knew and understood Reacher a bit by then - but there is even more to the guy as further books showed - best series of books I have ever read.
  12. Life magazine sends one if its reporters to the Appalachian Mountains to gather life stories of the locals. On the first day, the reporter climbs up a mountain and there he encounters an old man sitting in a rocking chair on the front porch of his log cabin. "Good morning, sir. I'm a reporter from Life magazine. I'm here to gather life stories from the folks living in this area. I have a question for you. What was the greatest day in your life?" The old man thinks for a while and then says, "Well...I remember the day when my neighbour's sheep got lost in yonder mountains. So me and the boys went off looking for the darn sheep and we brought along some food and moonshine. But by the time we found the sheep, we were so drunk that we figured it would be very grateful, so we took turns humping it under the lemon tree! We had a grand time eating, drinking and fornicating!" The reported is dumbfound by what he just heard. "Um that's an interesting story sir, but I can't use that in the magazine. What is the second greatest day in your life?" "Let's see. Well I remember when my neighbour's daughter got lost in yonder mountains. So me and the boys went off looking for that darn girl and we brought along some food and moonshine. But by the time we found her we were so drunk that we figured she would be very grateful so we took turns humping her under the lemon tree! We had a great time eating, drinking, and fornicating!" "My magazine won't allow either of those stories to be printed! How about some sad stories? What is the saddest day in your life?" "Well, I remember the day when I got lost in yonder mountains ........"
  13. A guy walked into a local bar, waving his pistol and yelled, “I have a 45 caliber Colt with a seven round magazine, and I want to know who’s been sleeping with my wife.” A voice from the back of the room called out, “You will need more ammo!”
  14. Knock Knock. "Hello Mrs Palmer, I'm your husband's boss and I'm just calling to say he'll be very late getting home tonight." Eager to keep her husband's boss happy, the wife invites him in for a coffee. They start to talk, and then have a wine or two, and then he suggests they go upstairs. She declines saying she would only agree to that for £200. "Come on" says the boss, "I will give you £300 if you also give me a blow job - so £300 all up." The wife agrees as they are short of money and the husband only usually make £200 a week. Late that night, the husband returns home and asks his wife if his boss visited on his way home. "Yes he dropped by - just to tell me you'd be very late home" she quickly replies. "Oh good," he says, "and did he drop off my wages, with the extra overtime money?"
