  1. Thanks Cartoonman, looks like LK Metro is open but Walking street still only half open. Does anyone know how the small bar areas like Made in Thailand are doing?
  2. I recall in late seventies in Ireland petrol neared £1 per gallon and a lot of pumps back then could not cope with higher than 99.9p per gallon so they changed the internals of the pumps to read litres, which dropped the price to 25.0p per litre.
  3. Pipe lengths are sold in meters. So if you go into a plumber merchants and ask for a length of inch and half waste pipe you would get a 3 meter length of 40mm pipe.
  4. 15mm and half inch, 22mm and 3/4 inch pipes are very similar and fitters still use imperial terminology so technically if a fitter requests 1/2 inch he would get 15mm. Same as waste pipes are still refered to as inch and a half but on the pipe it states 40mm. inch and a quarter is a 32mm pipe. As far as I'm aware the plumbing was changed in the early 70's in line with currency.
  5. Ireland changed to metric years ago, all measurements in litres and kilometers but their plumbing is still imperial. England changed their plumbing to metric back in the 70's. I found this out when I went home I could use UK 15mm connectors on Irish 1/2 inch pipes but when I came back to the UK I had leaks when a few Irish 1/2 inch connectors got mixed with English 15mm copper.
  6. This is Boris trying to divert everyone away from Sue Gray's report on Covid parties. Same as Rishi Suknak's £400 bribe was timed to do the same thing.
  7. Hi Campario I like the small bars where you can sit and chat with a girl or play pool. Rompho market looks interesting. Hi Toyboy, never heard of Bolt? I assume you would call them from your mobile?
  8. When in Pattaya I was planning a trip to Jomtiem, is there any good bars there? Is it worth a day/evening? I assume the Baht bus still runs from South Pattaya road? But how easy is it to get a motorbike back?
  9. Wow! Thanks Stillearly. I was worried the toilet and shower were more open but looked good. I love swimming but prefer to do so in the shade as less chance of heat stroke. Balcony looked very small but the view didn't look like much. The Suite looked fantastic but definately out of my budget

Heres the full lyrics … It was on the good ship Venus By Christ, ya should've seen us The figurehead was a whore in bed And the mast, a mammoth penis … The captain of this lugger He was a dirty bugger He wasn't fit to shovel shit From one place to another … Friggin' in the riggin' Friggin' in the riggin' Friggin' in the riggin' There was f**k all else to do … Captain's name was Morgan By Christ, he was a gorgon Ten times a day sweet tunes he'd play On his fuckin' organ … The first mate's name was Cooper By Christ he was a trooper He jerked and jerked until he worked Himself into a stupor … Friggin' in the riggin' Friggin' in the riggin' Friggin' in the riggin' There was f**k all else to do … Hold on Give it some bollocks … The second mate was Andy By Christ, he had a dandy 'Til they crushed his cock on a jagged rock From cumming in the brandy … The cabin boy was Flipper He was a fuckin' nipper He stuffed his ass with broken glass And circumcised the skipper … Friggin' in the riggin' Friggin' in the riggin' Friggin' in the riggin' There was f**k all else to do … Ahoy Jimmy … Friggin' in the riggin' Friggin' in the riggin' Friggin' in the riggin' There was f**k all else to do … The Captain's wife was Mabel To f**k she was not able So the dirty shits, they nailed her tits Across the barroom table … The Captain had a daughter Who fell in deep sea water Delighted squeals we knew the eels Had found 'er sexual quarters … Friggin' in the riggin' Friggin' in the riggin' Friggin' in the riggin' There was f**k all else to do … Friggin' in the riggin' Friggin' in the riggin' Friggin' in the riggin' There was f**k all else to do … Friggin' in the riggin' Friggin' in the riggin' Friggin' in the riggin' There was f**k all else to do … Friggin' in the riggin' Friggin' in the riggin' Friggin' in the riggin' There was f**k all else to do … Friggin' in the riggin' Friggin' in the riggin' Friggin' in the riggin' There was f**k all else to do … Friggin' in the riggin' Friggin' in the riggin' Friggin' in the riggin' There was f**k all else to do … Friggin' in the riggin' Friggin' in the riggin' Friggin' in the riggin' There was f**k all else to do … Friggin' in the riggin' Friggin' in the riggin' Friggin' in the riggin' There was f**k all else to do … Friggin' in the riggin' Friggin' in the riggin' Friggin' in the riggin' There was f**k all else to do … Friggin' in the riggin' Friggin' in the riggin' Friggin' in the riggin' There was f**k all else to do
  11. Hi Guys, looking at hotels for my December trip and Baraquda has popped up. Just above what I want to pay but seems nice. Anyone stay there lately? It also seems to be "The best guest friendly hotel in Pattaya" according to their website. One issue seems to be the bath is part of the main room. Is the rest of the toilet and shower part of the room as well?
  12. Thanks Guys, some good info here. I'm planning a three to four week trip to Pattaya and want to break it up with a short break and I always wanted to visit Angor Wat, so hopefully this trip I will allocate three to four days.
  13. Looking at going to Angor Wat for a couple of days, has anyone made the trip? Any suggestions on hiring a car or taxi? or is flying best option?
  14. Stayed there 5-6 years ago and the rooms and halls were tired good to hear they have had a revamp. Did have a couple of noisy neighbours that spent half the night walking and shouting between rooms one trip, but that could happen in any hotel. I liked the pool and also the bar area that is opposite. On my list for my next trip.
  15. Thanks Guys, I will check out some hotels and pay later. I think I'll hold off on the flight until later, hopefully prices will drop, my dates are flexible so I hope I might make savings there!
  16. Planning a trip in December but wary of losing any deposits for hotels if Thailand goes back into lockdown so looking at Agoda where they offer that you don't pay until couple of days prior to arriving, does anyone know does Agoda take any payments now? Or is it 100% just before arriving? A couple of hotels I am looking at are saying they are fully booked for the days I want so, I don't want to leave it too late to book in. Another issue is that I need to book Business Class due to leg issues and at the moment flights from the UK are over £3k direct, this is from early December, if I book 9th December the price jumps up to £4k direct. Do you think I should hold on booking the flight till September/October hoping that the prices may drop and hopefully more clarity on Covid? I'm not a newbie, I have been plenty of times before but not been since 2019 and with Covid the rule book seemed to have changed so thanks for any help.
  17. I enjoyed going to 7 & 8 everytime I was in Pattaya. But the last time I was in town 3 years ago I noticed that it was in decline from previous years. Got a great girl from Tiger bar one year, seem to recall it was a Freelancer bar back then. I got a free 2018 calendar with pictures of all the girls back in late 2017 from Best Bar Soi 8. I'm looking at it still hanging on the wall above my desk as I type! There was some great live music bars on these Soi's
  18. I would like to add a belated thank you for these maps. I recall using them for research before my early trips and I printed out a copy to take with me. Very useful when I was a newbie!
  19. Hi Guys, After three years away I'm finally looking to return to Thailand. I hope to get a lot of useful information from the board and see some familiar faces when I return.
