Lovely part of the world. Have enjoyed many trips there and I love the Krungsri Hotel bar along the river. In fact also directly opposite the hotel on the other side of the river is a great restaurant selling wonderful Thai food.

Just changed to emergency exit at the gate. Got my aisle, got the legroom Edit....got no one next to me.....result

In Starbucks at Swampy. Not depressed but sad to say goodbye to the girls. Still could see them any time from 5 weeks to 3 months depending on my travels and results of visa application. Already told a Chinese family to get in line. We are all snaking along about 4 lines queuing for immigration and this family see a gap and head straight for an immigration officer. Well ignorance does not come with a free pass so I told them to get at the back of the queue. Thing is their back of the queue is barging into the middle of other passengers who all told them in umpteen languages to feck off to the back. Result. Noticed again that immigration really have sped up their processing time at the desk. Getting on EVA in about 1 hour.

Last night ate at the Robin Hood in Bangkok and had the 600 gm half side of cod and chips. I failed to eat it all despite it being delicious. It was 590 baht but considering 200 gm dory and chips was 390 baht and 200 gm cod and chips was 490 baht it was a great deal.

You on BA via Doha, I am confused. I will probably not make tonight as need to spend time with wee one before I trek back to UK tomorrow. It may be 3 months before I see her again so that is going to be difficult, we will get together for a beer at the Spoon when you back.

Booked Porn for an appointment on Monday to put her spouse settlement application in but today went to ask some questions about what needs to be sent to Sheffield only to find they offer a walk in service for 1500 baht. Well I was kind of shocked as I had paid for 5 nights hotel as I have to keep Porn in hotel after I leave for the UK on Sunday. Now we are complete on the application I only needed to book 3 nights but of course the reservation is non refundable. Never mind, all done and I have all the documentation with me to send to Sheffield. They only needed Porn's valid passport and to see her signed application. Didn't need to show any added documentation and other than her passport all the documentation was handed back including the application form. I am happy that I can relax although they did tell Porn the decision can take 3 - 4 months because Porn had put a UK arrival date of 27 March. The girl did say it might still be less than 60 days but had to inform us officially it could take longer. Chilled now.

Night market is worth a look as many stalls etc but not cheap for seafood although great atmosphere. Very close to the Clock Tower but on other side of road. Cicada is ok although a little way out in Khao Takiab. Got to get to the Food Court over the railway at Soi 88, really worth a good night there, loads of food stalls for all tastes (Indian, Italian etc) and bands at weekends, Beer is plentiful and large beers about 60 baht.

Absolutely brilliant night, the place was jam packed to the rafters due to the appearance of a Thai superstar (so I am told) called Zak Chumphae. Have to say I had a great night which had been fueled by 2 liters of dark beer in the Underground pub at the Pullman. Oh and 2 red wines at Pomodoro with my Sicilian pizza also. It was Blend 285 with coke at Tawan Daeng from about 2230 till 0200. Not like me to get bladdered but I felt it today and the toilet was used to support my chin at one time, just woken up and feel better but was still a great evening with Porn and her sisters, cousins. Even got to shake the hand of Zak which amused all the Thais (just did it to impress Porn ). Thai guys kept coming over and clinking my glass, real friendly crowd and shows that the Thais know how to party in the boonies.

In Tawang Daeng Khon Kaen, don't ever ask how the Thais enjoy themselves because these guys know how to party.

You know, it is awesome and a few beers in I am having a great time. We were doing happy hour drinks in the Underground 40 mins after happy hour finished (Porn having a word) so everybody happy. I will be off to meet the girls in about 30 mins but pizza finished another red wine is coming .

Well I stuck girls in taxi to Tawang Daeng as supposedly a superstar is singing tonight. Me, I am in Pomodoro having the Sicilian pizza with capers and anchovy (my favourite) and will head for the club in good time. Having a great time.

In Pullman hotel Khon Kaen getting slightly inebriated on dark beer with Porn and her 3 sisters. Going to be a long night. Off to eat shortly and then a Thai nightclub. I doubt I will outlast the girls.

Yes, noticed your weather colder than UK but the low temperatures are geared to being around for a while so no doubt I will be wearing my thermals when I get back next week.

Porn and I have just completed her settlement application. Tomorrow I will confirm the application online and then be hit with payment for the settlement visa and the NHS charges for the 2.5 year visa. small amount of £2723....... cheaper to buy a dinghy.

Sitting in Thaismile lounge checking whether my Lenovo laptop works after dropping it in security while taking it out of it's case. Think everybody else more shocked than me but was a spectacle.

Despite really busy immigration was through pretty quick. Heading for Thaismile check in.

Just arrived Swampy. Packed immigration but quickest ever from flight gate into immigration hall. Gate directly opposite hall entrance, good for EVA

Final packing before heading to Heathrow, meeting a fellow board member for a drink in Wetherspoon. Glad I got an aisle seat as having a few beers before boarding.

She doesn't look like a pensioner to me......

Just managed to change my window seat to an aisle seat on Eva and also it is 12 rows nearer the front so easier to get out at Bangkok for my connection. Will have a word about an emergency exit seat on Friday before departure but happy right now with my aisle position.

Love Laab but favourite is with duck, I too like eating prawns as I never shell them, that is always the babe's job and yes she eats all the heads.

Having the first cup of tea of the day and it really tastes good.
