  1. It was Taco Friday last night. Always a big hit wit the GF. Cheddar cheese, lettuce, sour cream, black olives, tomato, green onions and ground beef. Hard to go wrong with this meal.
  2. I can't tell you how glad I am that I live in an area where it is easy to hide from all the craziness that's going on in the world today
  3. Buttered bagels, cream cheese, thinly sliced salmon, tomatoes and sliced onions with a nice fruit salad The salmon doesnt photograph very well. It was a spectacular pink in color.
  4. Meatloaf is one of my altime favorites. My Grandmother would always make 2 meatloafs and 1 she would give to me as my very own.
  5. A light lunch with Polish sausage, mixed fruit, potatoe chips and guacamole.
  6. First grilling on the BBQ of the year. My all time favorite..... Ribeyes with a nice Ceasar salad
  7. Been on another job for the last 2 weeks so haven't been able to finish up the stacked rock fireplace for my friend. Till the past 3 days that is. All I have now is to grout the tile and fill in a few gaps in the rock. It turned out very nice and this manufacturer of the stone was pretty easy to work with.
  8. I get mine cut every 2 to 3 months and I pay $30.00 US. this includes a tip. And I've still got a decent head of hair for my age.
  9. All that matters is that we still love ya.
  10. Sitting in hotel in Longmont Colorado. We are visiting the GFs grandkids. First we've seen them live in over a year. Don't think I've seen the GF this happy. Great little visit.
  11. Up to the mantles. Hope I haven't bored you too much with all this but I just wanted to share what I'm doing.
  12. Now for the dry stack stone. They come in a 6 inch tall by 2 foot long with 4 rows of cut stone staggered. Easy to install but you will need a tile saw.
  13. A whole lot of scrubbing just to get the dirt off. Next I'll put a clear satin finish on them
  14. My friend bought 2 old beat up 8x8 beams at a salvage yard for the mantles. Will take a bit of cleaning to bring them back to life.
  15. Covered with drywall and then a concrete board so I can add a stone veneer
  16. Hooked up the new chimney pipe and cap on the roof. I covered up the middle flu as it's not used. The third opening is for the fireplace in the basement. And you'll notice more lava rock. Not a bad view from up here.
  17. Framed in the whole structure and Installed a new natural gas 2 sided fireplace.
  18. Tore down the 40 year old fireplace to the cinderblocks. It was covered with lava rock on 4 sides. Friggen messy job to say the least
  19. What a beautiful place to walk and get back into what life is supposed to be all about. Los Gatos is one of my favorite place in northern California.
  20. Heading out to work. The tile that was supposed to be in last week is ( once again ) supposed to be here today. I need it for the hearth and surround for the double sided fireplace. It has to go in first so I can then start on the dry stack stone around the fireplace. Got the 2 mantle pieces all cleaned up and ready to be lagged into place. So I got a full week ahead of me.... Hopefully!
