  1. is this another group like new nordic?
  2. I think they want to achieve 'herd' immunity - by vaccinating the Thai's and then the Farang will automatically be protected by herd immunity - so no need to waste any money on farang 🙂
  3. My (thai) wife thinks that all should be able to get the vaccine regardless of race or age - but she is angry with the government for not allowing those who want and can pay to be able to procure their own vaccines (ie from Private hospitals) - she runs our massage shop and realizes that without external tourists then we cannot make any money. She says that the Thai government has let people down as they did not order any vaccines until far too late as they (Thai Government) wanted to make their own vaccines to make their own money and be the 'hero' government. She has already had one jab (sinovac). I did explain that they should be giving vaccine to the elderly and at risk first as they are the ones likely to die - but she just says - 'should be all by queue'
  4. lol - i always thought it was just called ENDLES been closed since before covid hit.
  5. Dark red 25% occupancy red - no limit on occupancy - but have to follow covid rules
  6. its ok - UK tax payers will fund his health recovery and give him a flat and money - maybe he could also claim disablement - after all he has paid into the UK system all his life ... \
  7. Made a roast dinner I normally buy a whole chicken and then spatchcock it, as i think you get a better all over cooking and nothing goes to waste. I marinated the chicken in bbq sauce / olive oil / celery salt and some lemon juice for a few hours whilst defrosting). Potatoes are par-boiled (some nice Royals are in Makro at the moment) and then tossed in olive oil / some herb mix and of course Celery salt. Gravy is made from oxo's and a roux, i then add the potato water to the gravy and thicken with flour. only some frozen peas for veggies 🙂
  8. next door neighbor of mine has caught it ... In other news - Thai people in Pattaya have been able to 'register' for the vaccine, took my Thai wife down to the hospital up Khao Talo to register (her and a couple members of staff) - they were registering 18-59yr old people. No idea on when they will be able to get the vaccine. My missus enquired about me, and the health worker said that a hospital around hat yai? area foreigners can register for the vaccine, but she didnt have any details. I'll just wait and go to a private hospital and buy it when they eventually have it 🙂
  9. sad to see - i dont believe in begging for money and i wouldn't donate.
  10. Thai Government announced yesterday that they will give 100,000,000 vaccines to 50,000,000 by the end of 2021 .... now if you assume that half a year is to pass (approx 180 days) and you divide 100,000,000 by 180 - you come up with a figure of 555,555 daily doses are required to be administered from June onwards to meet this ambitious target of everyone having 2 doses ... seeing as how they will only be producing 10,000,000 a month vaccines from their own company - not sure where the other 40,000,000 will be coming from! I can also not see how the Thai infrastructure would be able to cope with such a high number of jabs to be administered ..
  11. about 6 years ago - in a hot spring bath in Peru - entertained by some lively / lovely ladies 🙂
  12. life here is for 'show' - everything - so maybe the postie left it half out for you to see it has been delivered... Did you not get a copy by email that you could print out?
  13. lol - it was in the kings club 🙂 and yes- i treat my fob as free money -
  14. have done it many times - especialyl if having a bit of fun in a bar 🙂 last year i went in to a gc and was the only punter they had seen all day - 11 ladies on - so i did the honorable thing and rang the bell a few times - was a fun afternoon / evening all ladies naked - good fun times 🙂 - not a fan of ringing the bell for all and sundry though.
  15. chunky monkey up for sale - not sure if it will reopen... I was going to look at the old witherspoons on soi buakhao, thai landlady wants 83k per month during covid - rising to 108 k (and all sorts of deposits etc) - floors above have been described as 'derelict' so i didnt bother.
  16. thats part of the corruption game here ... make once, make again, make again, update and upgrade with the backhanders and brown paper bags going to the relevant contract signers and contract givers
  17. its a shame they cannot repurpose these rockets in space to be habitats or provide other components for living / working in space.
  18. i'm a fan of the heat - don't like working in it though, especially with the humidity - so have aircon on at 25 in my office with a fan. Having worked all over the world - i chose SEAsia because of the heat (and lifestyle). I spent nearly a year in Beijing and that was an extreme of temps from 40 in the summer (and the humitiy) to -20 in the winter 🙂 love my cycling too - but normally dont cycle during the midday heat (normally avoid 12-3pm).
  19. its very confusing what they are doing there, as they look to be creating many chicanes - maybe they will be building a racing track around the lake?
  20. visited Phuket in March, was staying at the AMAN Puri resort near Surin Beach - lovey clean resort - only about 20% occupancy though 😞
  21. yes- and this is what happened last year which turned into 2 1/2 months
  22. yes - the cynic in me says they have done this so they do not have to pay for 'closed businesses' and start paying social payments ...
