To me it is more about the accuser than the accused. It is definitely popular amongst Farang business owners to bandy about accusations of cheap charlies not wanting to pay their exorbitant prices, whereas I look to see what I am getting for my money compared to other places and just stay away. So am I a cheap bastard?? All they want is your money (of course - they are in business!)! They aren't your mates, especially if you only see them 3 weeks a year but also if you see them 3 times a week but only in their place of business !!!! So in conclusion. I am the biggest cheap bastard I know...!!

Totally agree.. Back in the olden days I used Best on Dolphin roundabout because it was so easy to drive in, park park round the back, drive around again then head on up to Surin.. Good prices and you could buy before 11am.... The one on Pattaya Tai opens early too if you are ever desperate ...

It really is a lovely country to drive about in .... but not since the latest coup though.....!!! If you get around by motorbike head down Pattaya Tai, cross 3rd road then when you have passed Pattaya City Resort, but before Soi Khopai/Soi 16, there is an offie on the left. That is where I used to buy my "box wine"..... Mont Clair was 920 baht whilst everywhere else was 993. Not a big saving unless you drink a box every 2 days ..... And they sell La Vida ..

I have always bought 99 Baht Addas or the equivalent, normally from the stalls outside Big C..........They last 2 or 3 years of regular use and are perfect for flying in... That was until I took M'Lady to the local market for Valentine's Day this year. I bought her a foot pump and she bought me a pair of 60 baht Addas which are really bloody comfy !! Romantic Bastards!!

On my last trip to UK I bought a book to read on the flight home.It was one of Crouchies about life after football...A great read on the way home!! I mentioned that we had a 4 hour power cut here on Sunday and that the previous 4 or 5 days were blisteringly hot. Well, whilst the power was off, M'Lady's sister called to say that she needed the car to take her 18 year old daughter to hospital. Apparently she had been pumping herself with Paracetamol for days to deal with her heat induced headaches but (as I expected) it has f***d up her kidneys. M'Lady is spending the day at the hospital with her. I am Home Alone with a couple of defrosted Lamb Chops so I'm gonna be enjoying the afternoon !!
