  1. There has been a shortage of them here in Thailand for a few months now, only recently supplies have started to trickle back in again. But the prices are very high, so much so that BB's may soon be regarded as 'fine food' and not an everyday staple.....
  2. Pork pies should be eaten cold, never heated, especially if they have gelatin inside... Mushy peas optional, a good English mustard compulsory......
  3. I fully agree with you there Mr. withu. I had a couple of days in Pattaya last week and took a walk around Treetown on the look for a fresh victim, along the front of Treetown ( the Soi Boukhow side ) most all the bars / Cafes were busy, along the left side heading down to Skaw Beach the bars etc were also doing business. But when i walked along the rear roadway There were virtually no customers at all, plenty of girls but even their calls of Handsome man / one drink please etc were pretty much inaudible because of the battering one's ears were taking from the OTT volume from the various bars / bands. The Matador bar had the usual band playing at a zillion decibels and most all the other bars were trying their best to compete with them. It's bloody madness and i can't fathom out why the bar managers can't see what the problem is causing the lack of customers ??? Needless to say i did not give any of the bars there my custom and was glad when i left the area and returned to Boukhow. A suitable visitim was found in Soi Chiayaphum who done a most admiral job in making an old chap happy......
  4. That was a while back, i get it ok and have done for a long time now, sorry i should say 'my friend' gets it ok .....
  5. Pornhub too, i've heard rumours.....
  6. Enjoy dear chap, a very different steed to the last one....
  7. Prodigy, starring the infamous Keith Flint. most of the band came from my hometown Braintree, Essex. keith had a huge house opposite the Public Gardens and often would be found enjoying an ale or 10 in the Angel pub nearby. Another chap, Steve Harley of Cockney Rebel, he was born in Deptford but moved to Braintree in his late teens and lived there for a number of years.
  8. This evening i have learnt that if i consume a 1ltr bottle of this i'm a tad squiffy......
  9. You need some honey and a good slug of dark rum mixed into that mate......
  10. What is the volume of the music, hopefully not as loud as their bar at the back of Treetown ???
  11. Correct, it was on Soi 3240, it has a local name but i'm buggered if i can think of it now.... If you were at the Butterfly bar, go back towards Pattaya for about 300mtrs to the crazy crossroads, turn right and go to the end, turn right again and the infamous BP was about 200mtrs on the right side.
  12. Worry not, back in the day i likely had enough debauchery in the BP for you, me and a few other chaps too !!!! There are probably enough stories to be told by various members here that it would warrant a new thread of it's own....although i suspect some may be to shy to admit to what they got up to or that present day wifes / GF's would be not best pleased to hear of such goings on.....
  13. None as far as i know that are anyway near as good as the original Black Pearl, think of it as akin to Windmill a-gogo in an outside bar. Of course there are many other places offering various services, such as the 'Gentleman's clubs' which are popping up everywhere, i've had some good times in some in Soi Boomerang, but to be honest they are no where near as much fun as the BP was in it's day, but then i am a filth addicted pervy bugger !!! Now i live mostly up country, and getting a tad out of touch of the current scene, i would be very happy to hear from any Pattaya resident of anywhere that offered a BP'esque experience.......
  14. Did you suffer the " Butterfly Welcome " ?? Stubbed toes or shins from hitting the low podiums or tables before your eyes adjusted to the darkness inside the bar ???
  15. Prior to your picture, it did not have the extended roof. The German owner told me that the local Police asked him to make the rear of the Black Pearl more secluded as they were aware of the various goings-on there and wanted it shielded from view of the neighbours, a few of the local plod used to frequent the place......
  16. Dunno how far Google history goes back Mr. Force, but it was the Black Pearl around the 2011 / 2012 period mate. My mates and i had a few memorable Birthday parties there, as you rightly state, there was good ( bloody great in fact ) fun to be had there....
  17. i believe it was the Black Pearl first mate, run by a German chap and his Thai wife. She died and the chap sold it soon after, the new owner renamed it the White Oyster, but it was never as good as when the Kraut had it. Had many a great afternoon in there back in the day...... Black Pearl 2, on Soi Siam Country Club never really took off and did not last long, it was a pale relation to the original.
  18. And also, many of these pick-ups have heavily beefed up rear springs, IE extra leaves added.
  19. No idea what it is, a soup or maybe a curry ?? But plenty of bread to dunk in it so i expect it's nice....
  20. And treble the portion size of the spuds and veggies too....
  21. I expect he sounded his horn to tell you he's there, and not in annoyance to your good self. It's a very common practice here to give a couple of toots on the horn when overtaking somebody, again it's not to tell them to get out of the way but just a warning that they are passing.
  22. The perfect choice (not) for this time of the year in Thailand.....
  23. 1. Paper producer in Chiang Mai 2. Sang Chiang waterfall in Ubon Ratchathani province 3. Collapsed road on Koh Chang. All taken a few years ago during my travels.....
