  1. I was about 3 glasses into red wine the other night and I was flipping thru hotties on FB. I noticed this one. And even more so this one.
  2. South Park released a special a few days ago. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt30505159/
  3. In keeping with what I see as the intent of this thread, I offer the following.
  4. A second hour of Xmas Day cooking - Thelonious Monk.
  5. Ok - I lied once again - this recording is in length about a one hour Jazz session - I plan on playing it on Xmas day while I am doing the meal prep. Fans of "The Late Show" will recognize many of the band members.
  6. One more Jon Batiste recording - "What a Wonderful World".
  7. Another Jon Batiste recording from "The Late Show".
  8. I posted some incorrect info in my prior post. Jon Bastite's wife (Suleika Jaouad) has not died. She does suffer from Leukemia. I saw a quick pic of her and made my too quick understanding of the situation. All apologies. Jaouad is fighting her disease and reportedly doing well. It is her second go round with this debilitating disease. https://www.today.com/popculture/movies/jon-batiste-suleika-jaouad-relationship-timeline-rcna127637
  9. This is a fun farce from the Stephen Colbert show. I think this is a slightly more extended version than what was shown on TV. Primarily the extension has to do with the closing IMO.
  10. John Batiste singing "Blackbird" on Stephen's Colbert show. Batiste is an incredible artist. This song was song with regard to Batiste's wife's death. Really beautiful.
  11. A couple of my favorite Neil Young songs were these.
  12. Looking to make a trip to the US September 2024. At 74 years old I need BC for a trans-Pacific flight. I want to bring the Thai Wife with to meet my family, at least the ones that are still talking to me. 🙂 I should probably get the visa request in play very soon for that. I do not travel very much anymore, but have a Platinum for life membership with American Airlines and One World. Not enough points left to fund these trip tickets, but it would be good to add to the "in the bank" totals for future trips. My destination airport is Chicago (ORD). There are no direct flights from BKK. Looking at various routings, my preferred choice is JAL. Expensive at $4,500 RT per passenger, but it gets me what I want. I have used this route before and the HND-ORD leg is very nice. The BKK-HND leg is not much above Premium Coach. Hmm - looks like we have to renew the Mrs' passport to start with. I hear the US visa process takes about 6 months. We better get started I guess. I do not want to put out any relatives, so we will need one month in a hotel, as well as a car rental. I am guessing that this will baseline a trip at about $25,000. It would be great to take the Mrs to some of my favorite locales in the US (Key West, San Diego, Seattle (where I was born), but it is difficult to justify that budget. More later
  13. The electronic tire pump throw in is now removed from the offer. The Mrs needs it for her bicycle.
  14. Pics of the bike and my location. The bike is at my house. I am a little South of the I-7 entrance ramp from Sukhumvit (Rt 3). I do mean the farther South entrance ramp, not the one near Pattaya Nua. I am just off hwy 1008, which is easy enough to spot on a Google Map. If someone is interested enough to come out here to take a look, I will supply them with detailed directions.
  15. Na Jomtien - Drifters Back when I first started investigating restaurants in this area, a few people recommended Drifters. We tried it tonight. https://drifters-beach-cafe.business.site/ I felt there were some pluses and minuses with regard to Drifters. Pluses Very laid back casual atmosphere directly on the beach Decent enough Aussie bar food Inexpensive A good choice of beers. Also wine is available Friendly staff Minuses Like I said Aussie bar food (just not my thing) Car parking could be better Narrow roads in and frequent large tour buses to deal with We ordered a bottle of less than great Shiraz for 1100. The total bill was under 1600. All in all, I can see why some like the place, but it is just not our thing. If someone could recommend what are the better food choices at this place, I would be interested. A few pics. The Mrs ordered Pad Thai Kung I ordered a Pastrami Sandwich and Fries. The sandwich was disappointing.
  16. No, I mean 1,000 kms. I did an oil change every 6 months, even if the mileage did not warrant an oil change. I believe that even if it is just sitting the oil needs to be changed periodically.
  17. The bike is less than 3 years old. It has less than 1000 kms on it. It has had regular oil changes. I paid 45,000 for the bike new. I am asking 25,000 firm. Nice small bike for getting around town. PM me if interested. I will throw in a battery charger (standard wall socket hookup) and electronic tire pump (the charge has to come off of a car cigarette lighter for the tire pump). I am selling the bike because after having moved out to the sticks, we use the car all the time and the bike is not being used.
  18. Interesting. Good background music for a longer cooking in the kitchen day. Thank you.
  19. I am a fan of Bogey films as well. One of my favorite lesser known movies is "Dead Reckoning" (1947) with an IMDB of 7.1. Excellent film noir, as Bogey did so well. Available on IPT https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_Reckoning_(1947_film) I just downloaded it. I will watch it for probably a 6th time. I saw it first on TV when I was maybe 10. It had me sitting on the edge of my seat as my Mom was yelling "what are you watching" from the kitchen. I think it was the pitching the St. Louis Cardinals through the World Series bit that got to me. I had pitched the White Sox through the 1959 World Series myself. "Stop throwing the ball against the house".
  20. Lewis Black on what we have to be grateful for during 2023. 🙂 https://www.thedailybeast.com/lewis-black-warns-that-2024-is-really-going-to-suck
  21. Charlamagne da God is hosting the "Daily Show 2023" this week. Charlamagne is not for everyone, but I was LMAO watching his intro for 20231204. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/charlamagne-tha-god-george-santos_n_656ed9c1e4b07b937ff5e7cd Go down to the second video to get a look at what I am talking about.
  22. I have recently started watching the S01 episodes of 30 Coins (aka Trenta Monedas). It has an IMDB of 7.1. I am through E04 of the 8 S01 episodes The show has become the first thing I watch each day after coffee, stock market reviews, quick looks at the news, and any personal stuff that needs to be addressed. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/30_Coins I am enjoying the show. It is dark. The show is a Spanish production that was originally released on HBO Europa. I am pulling it from IPT. S02 is in the process of being released. The 30 coins title is a reference to what Judas was paid for betraying Christ.
  23. @forcebwithu , @tko and @Phantom51red Sorry to report this, but with regard to the "Napoleon" movie starring Joaquin Phoenix that was produced by Ridley Scott, the initial feedback is negative. It only earned an IMDB of 6.6, which can be watchable, but for this level of talent is disappointing. The reviews tend to-be are negative. I doubt I will watch it.
