  1. Am i the only one who puts weight on in Thailand? Never done reading about people losing weight in Thailand, but i put it on. I can't be bothered doing the gym, but no plenty scuba and walking. Maybe the King Power breakfast buffet scrum and eat has a lot to answer for ...

  8. One of our neighbours is Bangladeshi. Lovely lady, knows I love spice, always drops me in something nice. She dropped in some lamb chops in curry earlier, had them with chips done in the air frier. Proper nice. Had I got that in a restaurant, I'd make a note to go back.
  9. Yes, but that's because you live in a year round hot climate.
  10. Prevention is better than cure, i found. Would you not try Allopurinol? I only take one 100mg tablet a day (lowest dose) and the cherry extract. Sometimes I feel the uncomfortable tingling in my toe or joint by the ball of my foot, but instead of a full blown very painful attack, it goes away. Very happy I started the Allopurinol and cherry combination.
  11. Got taken to a Michelin rated Spanish place earlier. It was tremendous, but thank f**k I wasn't picking up the Bill! The wife's employers having a late Christmas staff day out.

  18. 1) Because the other option was jail. They were told it was only them, no one else, couldn't be an IT mistake. Make it balance or get prosecuted. Many still got prosecuted, and were advised by their lawyer to plead guilty to avoid jail. 2) It was known and covered up about the IT system being faulty. More comes out about this every day. It's a shocking, horrendous thing that has happened, and to so many people, whole families stigmatised as thieves, mums or Dads going to jail when innocent, people taking their own lives over it. Families and lives ruined. It's gonna run and run this, and quite rightly. Those that did cover it up etc will hopefully end up getting jailed themselves. It's hard to get your head around what happened, it's so, so bad. Scary as well, as we move to more things being run by IT and AI, the reliance on it as near infallible. Not sure if you can watch these or not, horrendous yet compelling viewing - https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m001v640/newsnight-the-post-office-scandal https://www.itv.com/watch/mr-bates-vs-the-post-office/10a0469/10a0469a0001
  19. I certainly find it therapeutic. Like diving, calms me, you just concentrate on the present, the nature around you. Kinda like Mindfulness in a way i suppose.
