  1. My Thai driver's license has worked the very few times I've been asked for ID when out and about. That said I do have a copy of the passport signature page and last extension page reduced down to credit card size and carried in my wallet. I've never needed it though.
  2. I had a spicy sausage spaghetti and we shared a pepperoni pizza. She went with carbonara and we shared a baked spinach. Most of the pizza and half of her spaghetti went home in boxes.
  3. Buffalo wings and jalapeño poppers to start. Chicken Parm for me. Beef fajitas for her, which were over cooked and under seasoned. The first time we've ordered something here that wasn't very good.
  4. Leftover steak, horseradish sauce, and greenery on an onion bagel.
  5. None taken. That's why we lived next county over. We only entered Houston occasionally. The aquarium was good, and Wat Buddhavas (Thai temple) was officially in Houston but way to the NW in a basically rural area. When we went to the sea we drove south around Houston. We lived in New Territory, Fort Bend, TX. It was eventually annexed by the city of Sugar Land. Great fun in Thailand when a girl tells you that you have a "sweet mouth" (bak wan) and you can show her your driver's license says you're from Sugar Land. Anyway, where we lived was immaculate and pretty affluent. I agree with your assessment of Houston.
  6. Nope, clear across the state. We're the next county SW of Houston.
  7. I lived in Fort Bend county, Texas, which has a climate only slightly cooler than Rayong, Thailand. Same seasons, too. A wide brimmed hat is pretty useful in that part of the world when you're outside. The big belt buckle thing sounds more like folks playing dress up in a country-western bar. So, from that part of the world, the Okies call us Baja Oklahoma and we say the only thing keeping Texas from floating away in the gulf of Mexico is Oklahoma sux so much. You will get a ticket if you drive through that state or Lousy-anna with Texas plates.
  8. I use both ublock and adblocker on firefox. Still working at the moment.
  9. First BBQ of the new year. Steaks, paprika potato wedges, and brats. Plated.
  10. Salad for her, and shared spinach. Ribs for me.
  11. Our last meal at Steak PeeMe (reason mentioned in the annoy thread.) Burger for me. Yum Polamai for her.
  12. Yep. Fried with bacon, chopped onion, and chopped Granny Smith apple.
  13. The wife had something green. She said it was really good. Daughter's spag talay. Mine was a spag bol and we shared a baked spinach.
  14. I keep this list of AIS codes for adding internet when I'm travelling. *777*7388# 10Mbps 7 days 330Baht 7210 6 7 270 7154 4 7 220 7211 6 30 850 EDIT: also, once you've got a sim card to one year validity from top ups, you only need to add 20Baht a month to keep extending it out a year from your top up. We have several sims in our mobile hot spot phones and in our GSM alarm system on the house upcountry that I do that with.
  15. Around 2.5 years ago Kasikorn got a new IT team in, and their website promptly was turned into a mess. They took away features like being able to type your own notes on entries, redid pages that absolutely do not shift focus to where you need to be on the oversized pages you have to scroll through, such as to enter an OTP. Very amateur. Example today, I always first select a quick link to Kasikorn's exchange rate page in English. When I select login to KBIZ is switches to Thai. I switch to English and press Login. It goes to the username/password page in Thai. I switch to English again so I can log in. I guess somebody's nephew was put in charge and the good programmers of a few years ago are gone. At least they still have a website. If they ever went phone app only I'd end my 30+ years of business with them.
