  1. At the GFs house. It's on the menu twice a month. We get 3 meals/ sandwiches out of each one.
  2. Thanks Fforest. Its good to be back. To be honest I sort of lost interest. Of course covid didn't help in anyway. And its good to see that you're still plugging away here too mate.
  3. Just finished a decent brunch and sitting here enjoying a cool breeze.
  4. Hahaha.... great belt Mike and still a very narrow waistline. Good on you my friend. But let's face it... there's just something special about California girls......... and cars and music.
  5. I grew up when the old timers were using lead, cast iron and threaded galvanized steel pipe so Shark Bites really are rocket science. I love and trust soldered copper so stayed away from shark bites for the longest time but they have won me over. Biggest mistakes people make are not seating the tubing all the way into the fitting and it's really easy to make that mistake as there are 2 points that are hit where it really feels that you are all the way in but actually aren't. Kind of like ukguys peepee and a Nigerian hooked. Ooops... sorry. What I do is mark the tubing with a black felt pin ( so it's easy to see ) at a minimum of one inch up from the ends. Works on both copper or plastic. Your mark should just barely be visible or its buried by the plastic collar. Works on all sizes of pipe up to and including 1 inch pipe. I couldn't tell you how many times I thought the fittings were totally seated ( and would of bet money on it ) but because of my marks I knew they weren't.... and I really had to push hard to snap them together. So today I swear by them. They are expensive but when you look at the time you spend to stop and solder pieces together then clean em up it ends up being a wash. I have all the tools to do Pex and the other pressed on fittings but there's just something about the look of copper and brass that is so cool. A bit winded but I hope that makes sense
  6. The reason I have a cardiologist in the first place
  7. I'm not supposed to eat these anymore. My cardiologist says it's not a wise idea
  8. I just saw that Drinking Street had been torn down. Years ago when Rocktaff and ukguy made their infamous trip to the land of BoomBoom.... we had a lot of fun in there.
  9. It's like a bad time warp. If I went back to enjoy easy pickings of young impressionable girls that would also mean I would revert back to being a flaming alcoholic drug addict. Not a good trade no matter how you look at it
  10. Before I left Durango the GF cooked a nice breakfast casserole. Darn tasty
  11. Was curious so I walked past Secrets/Scooters/Keys (?) last night. Locked up tight as a drum. Pitch black. What a difference 10 years makes
  12. I'm doing a remodel turning a garage into a one bedroom apartment. I installed this 1.6 gallon on demand electric water heater that the client bought. My fear is that it isn't big enough to do the job that the client is expecting. But I've got a feeling ill be installing a 3 or 4 gallon one in the near future.
  13. I had forgotten what great photos you take. My respect Sir.
  14. We just saw Garth Brooks ( I know... not old enough to be retired) in Vegas and it was just over $5000 for me and the GF.
  15. Saw Willie a couple years ago in Houston. It was a great show and went over 3 hours. He is still writing songs like mad. In the last 10 years he has done 13 albums. It's not for the money but for the love of writing. The biggest problem is what producers are charging these days. What used to be a $50 ticket is now a $750 ticket. By the time you add up airfares, hotel rooms, food, car rental and anything you buy at the concerts themselves it can easily be $2000 to $3000 weekend per person.
  16. Robin Hood at the Avenue tonight. Was surprised at how large the plate and meal was. 460baht.
  17. Hahaha....Thank you Mr Eye. It is really nice being back in town. Dont know what happened to make me lose interest but i did. Covid sure made a mess of things for a whole lot of people. Have you been paroled yet and if so where are you hiding out?
  18. Indeed it was MrB. I was very impressed with it last night. I spent 3 hours in several bars watching the greatest show on earth. Was in the Hollywood bar on the 2nd road end when the place exploded with excitement... several guys were on the roof throwing over 20baht notes. Was surprised at how long it went on. There were what seemed to be thousands of notes. The girls went crazy and the bars emptied out. Reminded me a little of Mardi Gras in New Orleans
  19. In years gone by I have always stayed a week in the Queen Vic. I'd start off with one week at Shhhhh. Then the QV. Then Billabong ( before it got so damn noisy)Then a week on Soi8. I liked staying in different locations as they are all have different atmospheres.
  20. So here's something that I truly LOVE! After leaving the Starbucks with full intentions of going to see Phil, for some strange reason I turned right instead of left and ill be damned if i didn't end up on Soi 6. Now where else in the world can you do that. When home in Colorado I dream of being on Soi 6... and damn it here I am.
  21. Just before covid hit. I had my flights made and was in the process of booking hotels when it started getting scary and I decided to wait an see. Was that 2020 or 2021? I can't really remember. Getting old is hell on the memory.
