  1. As you might know, The Office gogo in Soi LKM (Pattaya) closed a few weeks ago for refurbishment. It was my understanding that it was due to re-open this evening. However, I walked past it last evening and it was open. I was with a fellow BM who I had promised "Happy Hour" priced drinks in Soi LKM gogos. This was at 7:35pm, and I was embarrassed to find that, when our bins eventually arrived, bottled beer was 145 Baht. The place itself has been completely redesigned. It now has one large, central, almost rectangular, stage, and that stage is a bit unusual in that it has no poles for the girls to hug. There is a single row of seats down the left side (looking in from the entrance) and two down the right. Everything is in black and white - the decor and the girls' uniforms. There were about 20 girls on stage when we arrived - all over-dressed in coyote gear. The shift change saw the same number of girls but this time dressed in bikinis. I was hoping that perhaps (at the least) the tops would come off, but after 3 records that had not happened, and we left. All the girls (both shifts) wore silly-looking white paper cuffs, and (even sillier-looking) white paper collars were being handed out to them whilst we were there. The girls were not bad looking overall, but I see no reason to return in a hurry. If you do decide to take a look for yourself, be careful not to trip on the step at the entrance door. P.S. Initially, there was a guy there dressed in black, with Champagne Agogo written on his shirt. I wondered if Champagne now owned Office, but I suspect it was just a goodwill visit on the opening night.
  2. Weekend misery, as per TT, Pattaya Beach Road, Soi 3 @ 2pm today:
  3. Beach Road, just before Walking Street. A new currency exchange in livery meant to fool you into thinking it is TT. I'm not sure whether the tailor shop is new. I don't recognise it, but I suspect that might be because I don't usually get to see it when it is open.
  4. I suspect that some people take the view that if they don't have anything nice to say, they don't say anything at all.
  5. I gave it another look after the Le Pub drinks on Sunday - circa 10pm. As far as I could tell, there was only one other customer there, plus someone who I assumed to be the manager. Many staff there; no "lookers", unless they were surrounding the other customer. I didn't like the "feel" of the place - of course, not helped by the lack of customers; it felt unwelcoming, and the scooters looked totally out of place.
  6. I ate there at about 8.30pm on 30 April. Not hugely busy, but a few customers in there. Had a very good Chicken Jalfrezi.
  7. RH Tavern has been taking, quite justifiably, a lot of flak on FB for lousy service - so no great surprise. What other places are in the group?
  8. On Beach Road, from Hard Rock to Soi 2, it looks as if tat stalls are being erected:
  9. How would you like to have the owner of this as a neighbour!
  10. I hope all you gardeners are prepared for the highlight of your year tomorrow - https://www.perthnow.com.au/lifestyle/garden/people-encouraged-to-get-their-hoses-out-for-world-naked-gardening-day-ng-b881181368z
  11. I went past this today and thought Cross Rail had come to Pattaya! I asked the bookseller sat on the corner what was going on, and I think his reply meant sewer work - he said "water go out".
  12. TT on Second Road, Pattaya, just after 10pm today:
  13. I've just been able to log-on to Secrets. First successful attempt today.
  14. Has the highway engineer been paid?
  15. Interesting. Shows the way the world is going, and that Thailand recognises it.
  16. Treating myself to an Ozzy fillet steak at Beefeater, Pattaya:
  17. @Painter I thought you might need a fix of Avenue pics, so this is for you! 🙂 Mr DIY is up and running, but doesn't seem to have many customers. That said, they haven't had many customers at their Royal Garden shop when I've been there either. Food World, surprisingly, seems to have more active food stalls than I can remember seeing before - despite Pattaya being very quiet. The coffee stall has moved from the right of the side doorway to the left: The central island area is more occupied - with mango/sticky rice being available again, although around the other side: These are the stalls around the perimeter: This is on the right hand side after entering from Soi 15, where I recall no activity in the past. Some new stalls are starting up - maybe a triple one: A new banner was being erected outside the Soi 15 entrance this afternoon which, I suspect, is related to the stalls that were being constructed just inside:
  18. I popped into Scootrets late last evening after a WS bar crawl. I had intended to get some food. I took a few paces inside and the smell of stale smoke was overwhelming, so it was a quick about turn for me. Very sad that the refurb didn't include air extraction. From my very brief look, there appeared to be about 6 customers, and the AC was too fierce. A large, cold place with few people does not feel welcoming - not to mention the stale smoke.
