  1. I think extending the editing period to a few hours would be a reasonable compromise. Anyone spitting the dummy and wanting to go through and delete their posts would only be able to do that on a handful of posts, so the damage would be minimal.
  2. About a year and half ago. Screenshot of a TPN post from PA. Even though the post is from 2021, the link in the post takes you to the current article, so looks like they just changed the PR news date, but none of the text. Normally wouldn't do screenshots such as this from another forum, but since 247 and PA are under the same ownership umbrella so figured it would be ok.
  3. What can I say... you're a braver man than me.
  4. I would be very leery of ordering an injectable from Shopee, or any online outlet for that matter. While more expensive, Dr. Oliver offers B12 injections of cyanocobalamin for 800B, but from what I've read methylcobalamin is preferable (link) and I've not found a clinic in the Pattaya area that offers that form.
  5. Good to know the reward card gives you an immediate discount, and on the Rx meds. I'll have to get one as even though the % discount is small, it'll add up to a few beers over the year.
  6. There are several options available for extending the range of WiFi. Here's one article of many on what's available. How to Extend WiFi Coverage in Your Home
  7. I've noticed many Thai news reports have obvious inaccuracies in them. The part about non-working electronic locks keeping preventing people from escaping is probably another one. As @maipenrai pointed out, when exiting a room the electronic lock does not come into play. The doors probably had an engaged deadbolt and/or one of those swinging security latches that in the panic to escape they forgot to disengage.
  8. Enough that China stopped publishing the numbers. That in itself should be a big concern.
  9. Heart sickening to see people trapped on high floors with no place to go to escape the fire. The way the fire spread along the outside of the building and the pictures, like the one below, showing the aftermath indicate another building that was constructed with flammable cladding. A tragedy that could probably have been prevented for want of a few $'s more spent.
  10. The search index processing routine has sure been running for a long time. When it's done will it have found the return to top of page icon?
  11. @tommy dee living on the DS might have a suggestion.
  12. Walk in prices. There is some type of reward card that would probably get you further discounts.
  13. Stopped by Fascino on this morning's bike ride and got prices for some of the meds and vitamins. Posted the info in this topic...
  14. Since Rx meds and vitamins for many are a major expense each month, thought it might be useful to have a topic on where the best prices can be found. Fascino has been mentioned as having good prices, so stopped by their Pattaya Nua store to check on their prices. Turns out they’re slightly less expensive than what I was paying when ordering from Bangkok Drugstore. Even more so when you factor in the 90B shipping I was paying on each order. (Quantity is in parenthesis) Amlodipine 10 mg: 290B (100) Valsartan 160 mg: 875B (28) Exforge (Amlodipine 10mg/Valsartan 160 mg): 900B (28) Exforge (Amlodipine 5mg/Valsartan 160 mg): 887B (28) Simvastatin 20 mg: 230B (100) Folic Acid 5 mg: 90B (100) Methylcobalamin 500 mcg: 193 (30) Vitamin B Complex: 650B (60)
  15. My urban mtn bike challenge course on Soi Casino is no more, at least until the next big rain.
  16. At least they have garbage bins now. For a couple of years there were none, IIRC. And the years before that the few they had out were always overflowing with garbage as they rarely emptied them. Probably why they removed them. No bins, no need to empty them. Simple minds, simple solutions.
  17. Reading this recent report it's doubtful pre-departure screening will be enough to prevent an influx of new infections from China. This will be of greater concern if the sequencing they're doing reveals new variants. Milan: 50% of passengers on flights from China have COVID. All arrivals will be tested. Italian health authorities will begin testing all arrivals from China for Covid after almost half of the passengers on two flights to Milan were found to have the virus. They are also sequencing the Milan tests to see if there are new variants, the Health Ministry said in a statement. If a new strain is found, officials may impose stricter curbs on travel from the country. ...
  18. Saw your photos over on PA. See they have added fake grass to go with the fake trees. Probably looks good at night lit up, but during the day it's obvious from your pics it leaves something to be desired in the aesthetic department.
  19. US to require travelers from China to show negative Covid-19 test result before flight The United States will require all travelers from China to show a negative Covid-19 test result before flying to the country as Beijing’s rapid easing of Covid-19 restrictions leads to a surge in cases. Passengers flying to the US from China will need to get a test no more than two days before flying, federal health officials said, and present proof of the negative test to their airline before boarding. The tests can be either a PCR test or an antigen self-test administered through a telehealth service. The requirement will apply both to passengers flying directly to the United States from China as well to passengers flying through popular third-country gateways, including Seoul, Toronto and Vancouver. Passengers who test positive more than 10 days before their flight can provide documentation of their recovery in lieu of a negative test result. The new rules take effect at 12:01 a.m. ET on January 5. American officials have expressed deep concerns about China’s lack of transparency surrounding the most recent surge in cases, particularly the absence of genome sequencing information that could help detect new strains of the coronavirus. ...
  20. My first thought was it would be good if countries would put in place a trigger that when another country crosses N number of infectious cases, they close their borders to the country with the high number of infections. My next thought was it would never work. Case in point is China. When the number of infections started skyrocketing they simply stopped publishing the number of infections. And if a country doesn't stop publishing numbers, then there's a good chance they'll undercount.
  21. How 'bout that. The forum is in the news. Like this quote, "where the basic rules are to treat others with respect regardless of differing opinions". The person writing the PR piece hasn't checked out the Politics section. Thailand 24/7 forum is a perfect choice for those looking for an ad-free, Thailand centric forum Hey there! Tired of Facebook groups that aren’t easy to search, well-moderated, or filled with trolls, fake accounts, drama, and off-topic posts? Tired of Thailand forums clogged with ads, non-relevant topics, over-zealous moderation, and focused on many other countries and places that aren’t Thailand? Looking for forums focused on Thailand overall and not just the nightlife industry with a friendly, helpful community to answer your questions, provide support, and where the basic rules are to treat others with respect regardless of differing opinions? Thailand 24/7 is a newer forum site that hopes to be able to fix these issues above and others by providing an engaging, open, honest community devoted to presenting Thailand in a positive manner and hopes to build a community of like-minded individuals. It is ad-free as well as free to use and utilize! We could write a lot more about the website, but it is easier to check it out for yourself, get involved, and help build a positive community devoted to promoting Thailand, answering questions for those who need assistance, and much more.
