  2. Reading this one and at 764 pages will take a while. A modern day version of James Clavell's Tai-pan.
  3. After seeing this I decided to give it a go. Not a bad read at all.
  4. I've read some of the new Famous Five parody books and they are quite funny.
  5. A third of the way through this and highly entertaining indeed.
  6. The first two are. This one is getting bogged down in the genealogy of all the major players involved as he sets the scene. Interesting but heavy going.
  7. Yes I do. She new what she was there to do and she was very good and enthusiastic about it. Also great company out of bed, the stories she used to tell were hilarious. A great loss to the bar game when she retired.

  10. Well after Lemondropkid reminded me about Walter Mosley I chased his latest book down. As usual a very good read.
  11. Thanks for reminding about Walter Mosley. I have enjoyed all his Easy Rawlins books and now I see there is a new one out. Blood Grove. I will have to chase it down.
  12. I can't do that with my eyes open. It might be old age or just that my health is f**ked. Otherwise 5, 14, and 15 apply. Plus l wish l had a porch l could sit out on and yell at incoherently at passers-by.
