  1. Well done, i'm only 14 years into marriage. 32 is great
  2. Perfect Anything from a nut roast to Christmas goose (or even Whiskas Saba)will pair well – as long as the Claret doesn't overpower the flavours in the food.
  3. Deceptive glass. Walked 20m and changed from Italy's best craft beer to Korean.
  4. Nicely observed BC! Half a bottle of premium beer and slightly less surprisingly half a can of strong beer that must be close to zero degC to suppress its metallic undertones. I guess a major moment of indecisiveness last night and just possibly the result was fridged this a.m
  5. This is the crazy bit "that few minutes he "made" $60 profit. He then withdrew the original $100, which after a couple of days arrived in his bank account." He could only have a profit if he withdrew USD 160. Which is a ridiculous amount and google could have shown him the answer. But getting USD100 back was more than he deserved.
  6. In Pattaya and surrounding areas there will be no surplus. The bank will sell when an offer comes in that meets their requirement.
  7. Looks like your hand might be shaking a wee bit. I think 4.30pm is nudging close to time for a steadier
  8. TM Logan looks interesting, will interupt my JD Kirk binge with one of his.
  9. Just finishing A Litter of Bones and have bought a full set of JD Kirk for my kindle
  10. Yes indeed Sir. To complete "don't invest emotionally or financially more than you can afford to lose". Wealthy, lovestruck BMs be aware. I have recently left behind the years of feeling, in fact being, indestructible both emotionally and financially. I have had the years where i could cross the road for an extra dollar an hour and sign 2 contracts in a week with no intention to see either to the end (likewise in love). But now i am more cautious, more aware of a fragility that wasn't there before - both emotionally and financially. "Devil-may-care" is slipping away to be replaced by a need for stability, longterm planning, gentle smiles across a dimly lit dining table. invest in an IPO if you want, my money is safely under the mattress.
  11. Pretty good - google says 啤酒和年轻漂亮的女人 Píjiǔ hé niánqīng piàoliang de nǚrén But your shioazhey!! sound more exciting than my nuren
  12. Google translates as "Urgent, press the paragraph, batch, two, yes, ah, like this". Thanks and best new year wishes for you.
  13. I managed about 14 days but will treat myself to Chinese New Year beers tomorrow and that will stretch to Tues - back to work Wed.
  14. 18 days isn't bad at all - almost 3 weeks
  15. Vegetable Biryani. Hopefully within todays remaining 750 calories
  16. Or a Vietnam style regulation of casinos. Singapore has some rules for locals/foreigners VIETNAM - The country legalized local games of chance in 2017. The country has eight casinos open for foreign passport holders, with investors seeking to open up the larger domestic customer base. As part of a three year experiment, locals are permitted to enter casinos if they can show monthly income exceeding 10 million dong (US$449) and are charged a 1 million dong entry tax. [2] The country announced plans in 2017 to legalize sports betting.[2]
  17. I had 5 weeks holiday over nov, xmas, new year. Little exercise, too much beer and bad food choices (steak&kidney pie, fish&chips and the like). Put on 3kg and felt terrible - putting on shoes and tieing laces an effort. After 2 weeks I've lost 1kg, almost back to my normal gym routine and a reasonable walk to work every day. If i can lose another 0.3kg i'll have a few beers for chinese new year.
  18. Just checked google and see there will not be a season 5 - disappointing!
  19. That sounded bad so i had a look at wikipedia. Different account there: On 8 January, during an FA Cup tie against Blackburn Rovers, Mackie sustained a double tibia and fibula break during a collision with Rovers player Gael Givet. The injury kept the player out for seven months until he returned to training in September 2011. Both stretchered off i understand. was it the trying to get him to stand up that sticks in the memory? Good that it wasn't career ending
  20. Will the forum be making some minor adjustments to adapt to the shifting demographics? Or no noticeable shift expected?
  21. In the West (and some parts of Asia, notably Japan) people are living longer and the birth rate is falling. For that reason the number of people paying into the system is less than is needed to keep the payments to the people who have retired. There seem to be 2 steps that can be taken: 1. Increase the retirement age so that people pay into the system for longer and have a reduction in the years they receive payments. 2. Increase the number of younger workers through immigration.
  22. Wealthier people do on average live longer. They can afford better diets, have many opportunities for healthy exercise and, of course, higher end healthcare. How many billionaires do you see down macdonalds upsizing their quarter pounder twice a day and smoking - not many i would wager. Obesity and diabetes are unfortunately low income, low life-expectation diseases. Money might not buy you happiness but yes it can, on average, extend your life.
