  1. I'm heading to Copenhagen on easyJet on Thursday too. 3:00pm flight out of Edinburgh.
  2. Just been to the shops again and this could be even cheaper than I'd thought. Mince is the same, Aldi own brand spaghetti £0.20 and the sauce is actually £0.59. 3 meals for £2.24 or 92 baht. Just over 30 baht per meal, not the 40 baht I calculated before. You can easily eat for next to nothing in the UK.
  3. I'd make a mess dragging the green stuff out from the bottom. No need for it. 🙂
  4. Maybe a loss leader, but I think that's a regular price. Same stuff is £1.75 in Morrisons £1.89 in Asda and £1.95 in Sainsbury's so the price looks OK for Aldi. http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk/asda-compare-prices/Fresh_Meat/ASDA_Butchers_Selection_Beef_Mince_20_Fat_500g.html?TrackingCode=AQEDAAE.j8l8dK6ffEGFBAjNU9Nfdg
  5. The stuff I showed was 500g beef mince at £1.49 GBP, 500g jar of sauce at £0.85, and 500g spaghetti at £0.50, all from Aldi in the UK. Villa Market is laughable with most of their prices, but it would be interesting to know what CM pays for their ingredients.
  6. Exactly, even though yours is more expensive than mine it's still less than 2/3 of the CMs selling price. That's why I didn't understand your comment above - "We often have this at home, and no way I could make it for that price ."
  7. I'm not sure how relevant comparing prices in different countries is, but here's what I just pulled from the cupboard/fridge. Total cost under 120 baht equivalent, less than one serving in CM, and enough to make 3 good sized servings.
  8. Probably more to do with you being obnoxious regarding the boss' wife, IMO, but you believe what you want.
  9. I missed that. Isn't it worth a suspension? 🙂
  10. So far you are. 🙂 It's correct too. The breakfast cereal pictured is manufactured by the company A & R Scott, now part of Quaker Oats, so two Ts is correct in this case, and so is the apostrophe.
  11. Thanks for the advice, but it looks like the Carlsberg Brewery is closed for a major refurb. Some of the rides in the Tivoli look to be closed in Winter too, but probably still enough there to make it worth a visit.
  12. 27 days, but just booked a week in Copenhagen before then. Anyone with any suggestions of things to do, sights to see or places to go there, please get in touch.
  13. Just got back yesterday so starting again. 35 days.
  14. Still pretty poor in Pattaya for me.
  15. Or the sugarcane field from a week or so ago in Thailand. 😧 https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/asia_pacific/body-of-missing-toddler-found-in-thai-sugarcane-plantation/2018/12/26/7ed9466c-08ed-11e9-8942-0ef442e59094_story.html?noredirect=on&utm_term=.6075037a8ae7
  16. Not a parent at all, but I was a child once who was put in reins like these. With my mum having three of us, and maybe also a friend, a cousin or two often in tow, it appears to me the reins would be a good option. Maybe not perfect for the reasons you give, but better than the alternative where one child escapes.
  17. Sorry, that appears contradictory to me. The reins allow you to put the kid on a "dog lead" while also keeping them safe getting them exercise and growing their confidence. If they've been put on the lead to allow the parent to play games on their phone then that's a different matter, but we don't know that here and no matter what, it wouldn't be true in every case.
  18. Keeping your kid safe and getting him/her exercise and grow in confidence is no bad thing surely. I realise there are two views and this article looks at both sides quite well IMO. A line that caught my eye was "They can give some reassurance, whilst still allowing the child to develop independence but they should not be used as a dragging or a lifting tool." https://www.telegraph.co.uk/women/mother-tongue/9966491/Parenting-dilemma-Should-British-parents-put-their-children-on-leads.html
  19. At least his cutlery was sitting on a napkin, not a torn bit of bog roll like some. 😮
  20. I'm not sure where I heard it, but I have in my head that it was owned by Toyota for some strange reason?
  21. Some old ones there I think. The McDonalds next to the Butchers was open on my last visit.
  22. Good result, and further out than the 6 hours I mentioned which surprises me.
  23. Yes, as per the photo posted. The price has remained the same as was previously shown for the main course only, with the starter and sweet being optional extras priced seperately.
