This whole Russian vaccine is dodgy as f**k IMO. Scientists around the globe hope for the best for their success, but are highly doubtful. Why don't they share the recipe with the globe so they can take a closer look? Instead, they call it "Sputnik V" as a dig towards us. The Philippines seem to be first in line for doses via Russia. You can be sure as F the US, UK, EU, Japan, etc. would be sharing the recipe if they had a vaccine. Putin is playing old USSR games

I have always thought of you as an excellent writer. In fact, I find it humorous when I read comments on this forum (Certain Clubs 🙂 ) accusing you of plagiarism. They are not used to someone who can write a quality page of original thoughts. Some refuse to accept this and continue with their copy and paste. Anyway, get that book rolling of yours so we can do a B&N Tour together. 🙂

BTW, I am in the middle of a book. It's a collection of various experiences broken up into chapters. Been working on it for years. Flowers over at Addicts was writing a book and started a thread about it. He echoed what I have always thought. Several publishers in Thailand have put out some pretty average material- so hey why not? The only way for me to find out if I am writing garbage or something that would be of interest is to submit my collection of chapters to these publishers.

Some are waiting for the other shoe to drop as to why Thailand was not hit hard. Some think their hiding something. Newsflash: They're not! Accept the fact that they skirted the brunt of the virus and be happy about it.

Think about your life thus far. If you wrote a book to encompass all your life's experiences, what would it be called? Would you use a song title, lyric, OR come up with something really original on your own? Disclaimer: My title is a toss up between some ideas. 🙂

I agree! Thailand is not skewing it's numbers as many suspect. The lack of ICUs are supporting their results.

I have been following updates in the news about the progress some companies are making with a vaccine. Pfizer, BioNTech, and Moderna seem to be the front runners. Moderna have had a 300% rise in the company's stock price since late January. There is a buzz in the scientific community is that antibodies could battle COVID before a vaccine is developed. Antibodies could provide a significant immunity boost while waiting for a vaccine, but this too is in the experimental stages. We should forget about Orange Hair, Doomsday news, random "experts" and professors spewing their predictions and theories and root for the scientists within one of these companies for a vaccine. If Salk did it, IMO we can discover a vaccine for this as well.

Just curious about what constitutes miserable hot weather in the UK. Is it the humidity or temps/or both. Here on the eastern shore of the US 40 to 42c is no problem when the humidity is low. But it can get to be unbearable and unsafe when the humidity kicks in.

I agree, you have to get past the tats these days because harping on the fact that you don't fancy them is not going anywhere in the 2020's. I have tats, so F it. Tats don't impede their performance levels or personalities IMO. I hear a lot of guys complaining about tats constantly. But you gotta get past it as your limiting your options in these times.

I always take the GFs sister for a ride from BKK to Prachuap Khiri Khan, Phetchaburi or Chumphon. I sleep most of the way and it's a relaxing ride. Not a big fan of buses. Wouldn't I know these three provinces well as I traveled extensively throughout them a couple of months on 2 different occasions. I always stayed in Hua Hin as my base and traveled around from there. There are so many places to visit and hang out other than Hua Hin and Cha Am. My personal favorite is Khao Luang cave temple which is 100 feet plus underground with and opening for light over top in the ground. They filmed a part of Bangkok Dangerous with Nick Cage in the temple. Some good eateries in the area for a great meal. Khao Luang *Not my photo, but I do have many of my own-just not on this comp*

Your not that far from me atm. I know that part of Delaware. I take Route 1 to Route 113 to get here. I am in Ocean City, Maryland and the tropical storm just passed. Very low impact with hardly any damage here.There was tornado watches here but no warnings. I am right on the water and watched the teenagers surf the waves this morning. Very entertaining. Stay safe up there.

My friend from Bristol UK who I have known 10 years got trapped in the LOS when his Qatar flight was cancelled. He was on 90 day visa with a 30 day extension. Come this April his Qatar flight was cancelled until further notice. He's still there as his July 31 flight to London with Qatar never arrived, so he's going to stay until end of September as he feels safer there than the UK. He's high risk as he has epilepsy and he feels more comfortable there than the UK. His long time GF lives in a nice house up in Petchabun. He's been spending all his time there. I would trade places with him in a heartbeat. So he decided to go see an expat mate of ours in Patts for a week. Fast forward to when my mate takes a bus back to Petchabun. He gets on the bus and takes his seat. As the bus was filling up with Thais, a Thai woman looks at her seat next to him and goes to the bus driver and has her seat changed. Then the bus driver puts this sign on the back of the bus seat next to only him. The only falang on the bus. He took a photo of it not knowing what it said in Thai. He asked his GF what it said when he reached her house. She said it was a COVID warning sign of some sort. Despicable attitude especially when people like Tommy Dee are raising money to feed these Thais in food lines who have nothing. Thais believe just about anything they see and hear on TV so when the Health Minister said we are all a bunch of dirty farangs, most believe that bull shit. *I'd be willing to place a large bet that the first foreign tourists to be allowed entry will be the Chinese, South Koreans, and Japanese.
