  1. Yes, i dread when the day comes where i have to say okay, i can't do what i like doing at the gym anymore. I do circuits, and HIIT, and can do circuits that has people 20 years younger than me struggling. It's something i have thought about, though currently no indications of having to slow down, except i take a bit longer to 'recover' after a good gym session. I mean, i know i'll just adjust what i do, not stop, but it'll be a sad day, a reality check of where i am at, at that time. It's also why i'm living my life to the full as much as i can nowadays. I loved Lapland, the silence, calm in the snowy wilderness. Came back a couple of days, contacted the guide we used, booked to go back in Feb myself for a proper wilderness adventure at a remote lodge type place he works/relaxes at. Would be too cold and strenuous for my 2 girls. You'd need a decent level of fitness for what we have planned, snowshoe trekking, cross country skiing, snowmobiling etc. I know i'll love it, and it'll help my mental and physical health. 60 days and counting ...
  2. Thinking of @Phantom51red at this sad time. Thoughts and prayers
  3. Quite pleased i sent over March/April's money via Wise a couple of days ago. Paid with card (£10) but still got 44.5
  4. Yes, but i started from a very low (far left) bar, Crass, anarchists, Stop The City etc. I used to make Corbyn look centre right
  5. Would get me back on the heroin for the come downs from it. Same same but different
  6. Don't miss it at all. What i do miss sometimes, is a nice fat joint, just mong out in front of the TV after the stressful or busy day. But i know it would start me smoking tobacco again, i wouldn't be content just doing pipes. And i definitely don't want to start smoking tobacco again, so i don't smoke anything, weed, hash or whatever. Maybe a good thing anyway ...
  7. Aye, it was on Sky the other week. I forgot just good a a movie it was, grew up with it in the 80's, my favourite film of that era. 'Yea i got a question, does Barry Manilow know you raid his wardrobe?' It was meant as a joke. But i'm certainly less tolerant of fuckwits and their antics than when i was younger. Life's too short to for that shite, especially when you get to our age. Also find myself leaning to more Right Wing views as the older i get, coincidence with the above ?
  8. I've posted this before, but still appropriate when reading the above. Here's how i picture @Yessongs's usual first night in Thailand before getting married again. Jetlagged, so taking it easy, double that in a couple of days time ...
  9. 71 - Northern Lapland 109 - Thailand 210 - Thailand
  10. f**k sake, couldn't miss it if i tried, imprinted on my brain i've seen the fucker that many times
  11. Worried sick i was, thought you had caught something serious like covid ...
  12. One of the few benefits of being born in the land that time forgot, Northern Ireland, i didn't have to go through this costly rigmarole, then or now.
  13. I always bring a couple of plastic water flask type things, every airport i've been to lately has free drinking water fill ups.
  14. Only a bit of drizzle down here, sadly. Would need to look like that video before the heat goes on, I've them well trained!
  15. She'll be home in Londonistan, just going myself on this one. But aye, i always take a lunch box full of sandwiches or whatever if leaving early (flight leaving Heathrow is 10.20am), as airports are such a rip off. The hot meal buffet had me buying lounge access, big breakfast at hotel, be starving by 3pm.
  16. Yea, i booked the lounge for the 4hour 10 min stopover on the way back. It was only £30, arrive at 3.20pm, so after a big breakfast where i'm staying, i'll make it worth my while with food, soft drinks, snacks, coffee etc, considering normal airport prices. Think it said i have access for 3 hours, which would suit just right. Didn't give me the option of the lounge on way out, maybe as the stopover is only 2hours, 30mins, i don't know.
  17. If I could retire tomorrow I would, and spend my Time between diving in Thailand, and wilderness/nature exploring in Northern Lapland. Well, my daughter's education would be a consideration, but I'm sure we'd sort out something suitable.
  18. Yea, my trips are for pleasure, to declutter my head from work and the big overcrowded dirty city. So clean, fresh, remote, pristine, beautiful nature. Even the water tastes different and better. What was your work in such places? Edit - And do stuff like this, i'd never had the chance to do before -
  19. f**k sake there's hardly even any snow there, i'd be wearing shorts and a t-shirt By the way, is that a Polar bear hide in the background?
  20. ^^^^^^^^^ @maipenrai is that anything like where you live? Check this for Auroras -
