  1. My favorite holiday dessert. I'll bake two pies the day before Thanksgiving, and put one in the freezer for Christmas eve dinner.
  2. Mine are commercial, though the smokehouse I get them from most often is a fairly small outfit. You won't find their goods in stores, you have to call in an order. Fat content is low, and flavor is high. About as close as you can get to a western local butcher shop in Thailand.
  3. Ribeyes, sweet corn, paprika potato wedges, bratwurst. Served.
  4. TW's. Crispy cooked along the edges but the yoke is still liquid to break into the krapow. Mine looked like it came out of a machine.
  5. Krapow nuea and truffle fries. Angus ribeye krapow.
  6. Every Sunday, (Thai time) I've been streaming this fascinating down under (I'm not sure if he's Australian or NZ) defense logistics analyst on youtube. He's been covering Ukraine, Isreal, International defense buildups around the world, etc. Name is Perun. Here's his latest.
  7. Many years ago I was visiting the wife's village over songkran and met a police officer visiting his family there. He was pretty friendly. A few days later we got pulled over by the police in the local Amphur who wanted to bust me for driving a motorcycle without an IDP. That officer road by, told them he knew me, so they let me go.
  8. It happened to me a couple days ago, then stopped and the ad blocker is working again.

  10. Come on over, we put a lot in the fridge.
  11. I think it's because the Pattaya area has this whole agent thing going on. There are plenty of expats there who want to pay to circumvent the rules (like you must show up in person) so the IOs there are happy to take advantage of it. I've done extensions in Kap Choeng, Buriram, and the last few years in Mapthaput. I pay 100 Baht at the bank for a letter and 1900 Baht at immigration. It usually takes less than 30 minutes at immigration to walk out with another year stamp in the passport. EDIT: Also, I don't need to do another TM30 when I spend the night somewhere else as long as when I return to Rayong its to the same address.
  12. Jeh Phung seafood Rayong city. One of our favorites.
  13. I forgot to take photos at Route 66 today, but as we had three starters, we all brought part of our mains home. Our daughter's Mac & cheese with Kielbasa, the wife's Carne Guisada, and my meatball sub with Cajun fries.
  14. Much better looking than the offering at Terra Cotta.
  15. Not where we intended to stop for lunch, but it started pouring down while we were grocery shopping and they had one of these in the building.
  16. She's never done bean sprout stir-fry with anything but pork.
  17. A bit too sweet for us. You can get good slaw at smokin' joes.
  18. Last bachelor week meal. They set out at 8am. Should be here in 2-3 more hours.
