  1. It's hard losing a close family member, even though it might be expected. Stay strong and let the bereavement process take its course. You gave her the care and love she deserved and you couldn't have done more. She didn't die alone. I guess I know how you will be feeling right now but it will get better over time and I am sure you will give her the wonderful send off that she deserves. RIP Jan x
  2. Time for a morning cocktail and a shower, whether I need it or not 😏
  3. At least it wasn't Old Spice 😀
  4. Nothing worse than missing a flight. Only happened to me once, when an internal flight from Phuket to Bangkok went tech after boarding and took off nearly two hours late. My flight from BKK had boarded and I didn't have time to get through security and immigration Ended up spending 2 nights in a designated hotel but a least it was paid for by Thai Airlines and I was not charged for missing my onward flight to UK. Like others,I am never fully relaxed until arriving at my final destination.
  5. My first posting this topic as I am not really a football fan, despite living a few hundred yards away from Selhurst Park stadium My question is this, pertaining to Pattaya mainly. I realise that many expats want to follow the game, and their teams either on TV at home or in bars. But, I have seen one or two bars that seem to advertise football matches on big screens and little else about the bar itself. So, for a visitor on a 3 week holiday, how much of that time do you spend watching football in a bar during your holiday? Home from home, as it were? Can bars make money just out of promoting screened football matches?
  6. Cancer can befall any of us, and perhaps 1 in 2 will get it in one form or another. Some are cured and many are not. I remember when I was first diagnosed with cancer. It was a massive blow and I was not prepared for it. Who ever is ? In my case, the treatment was worse than the symptom but treatment began straight away . 6 weeks of daily radiotherapy and intermittent Chemotherapy. I was lucky and got the all clear soon after treatment had stopped, but that's not the case for everyone. I still have 6 monthly check ups and shit myself everytime before I attend, in case it should return. Treatment knocked the he'll out of my body, but at the same time nocked the he'll of of the cancer. It felt like a sledge hammer, cracking a walnut. I feel lucky, as like many others, we have lost people close to us from this awful disease. It is hard to watch then deteriorate knowing that there is nothing you can do about it, especially when the diagnosis is terminal When I was being treated at the Royal Marsden, it was heartbreaking to see children so young, around the hospital who were having treatment. I thought, no matter what, at least I have had a life, and theirs could soon end in some cases. Cancer treatment has got a whole lot better over the last 20 years or so, but there is no cure, only treatment. At least these days, morphine can deaden some of the physical pain but not the mental anxiety of knowing that your days are numbered. I know it's a depressing subject, especially at this time of the year and my heart goes out to Galenkia watching his sister slip away. I watched over my father in the same way and it affected me greatly, even to this day None of us know when our time is up, so I guess we should relish life whilst we have it, although easily said than done.
  7. It's quite simple really Butch is a notorious and flamboyant homosexual, rivalled only by the likes of Liberace and Quentin Crisp. I have tried my best to show him the error of his ways and his fudge packing activities, but so far he has alluded my advice and continues to spend much of his leisure time loitering in Gentleman's urinals. Everytime we have been in Pattaya together, I have to constantly drag him away from Pook bar and Sunee Plaza for his own good No doubt he will spend Christmas day on Hampstead Heath with a tin of Quality Street nestled under his arm, dressed as a Christmas Elf
  8. And to you. Rumour has it that you will be helping Santa empty his sack in your local public lavatory.
  9. Merry Xmas one and all, and remember .............
  10. Thank you and wish you a nice festive break. As a Devil worshiper, I do not celebrate Xmas as such 😁
  11. White Russians for sure. Bugger I forgot to pick up some extra milk.
  12. Just done a bit of Christmas shopping. Enough for Christmas day, anyway 😎 the shops back open on Boxing day 😁
  13. That could feed a large family but I appreciate that you have to put him back.
  14. It's a short ride on a bike though, turn right onto 3rd Rd from Lengkee for about half a mile then left to toward Shell garage and it's at the top of the Soi opposite, by the looks of it . Just googled it and looked on the map. I shall do a quick review of my experience, leaving out any sordid details, should they occur 😄
  15. I heard of a recently reopened Gentleman's Club called Whisper Lounge located in Rungland village area near the Shell gas station, I believe. Does anyone know of it or been there May have been reviewed here before but my search couldn't find. Update after posting Just watched a review on Buzzin Pattaya done over a year ago. Looked OK. One to visit for sure in January.
