Just for everyone's info.... A French couple who own a condo in the complex I stay in come over for October and November, go home for December, then return for 2 months during January, february and March. They do it on 30 day visa exempt stamps, and have done so for many years. During their last trip, they visited jomtien immigration to extend their stamp, waited all morning, and were told to return 3 days later. They did, and all was well. For this trip, their stamp expires on Saturday 10th. They went to immigration on Tuesday, 6th, queued from 8am until 11, and were told to return on thursday 8th. Today (8th) they hit jomtien at 8am, got ticket number 71. At 11am, the doors were effectively slammed in their faces... come back tomorrow. Fortunately they had by this time handed the forms, passport and money in, so tomorrow is just a case of (hopefully) collecting their passport. They are both mid 70s, and "can turn computer on, but....". Their next trip has already got a side trip to Laos, and the one after that a 2 week trip to Bali. I know this is jomtien not elsewhere in the country, but seems a good advert to get a 60 day tourist visa to me.

I read that they were only moving 50m, and that plot on what's known as soi baku (there's actually 2, one used as a carpark, and one "controlled" by Amethyst) was the only vacant land I could picture in the area. Like you, I fear the location might be difficult to attract new custom to, even if it is only 50m or so off soi buckhou. I'll wander up later and get some pics

Noticed the other day that they are decreasing the size of more of the tree surrounds, now opposite soi 13, not just the really close together ones, and was expecting them to just patch in the new gaps created in the new paving.... But no, they've done it properly...!

Agree with all. Root needs to play like the Root of old, not the bazball Root. Is there too much pressure on him being the team all-rounder? Foakes has been blooming good behind the stumps, and can bat a bit. Would Bairstow have been as accomplished behind the stumps? Who knows? But I'd stick with Foakes, and if Brooke does return play him instead of Bairstow. He can also offer a sort of medium pace variation to the bowling attack...

After you've passed through immigration, in the baggage claim hall there are stalls where the mobile providers sell sim card packages. Depending on how long it takes you to get through immigration, go and talk to them whilst you're waiting for your bag to arrive. The dtac people have been very helpful to me in the past. They can only do tourist (short term) packages, I think

I was thinking the same in the last match, and look what happened! 😀 My money's on needing 397 to win in two days, and winning by 6 wickets
