  1. Steve, fully understand. Bryan Adams and many other bands/groups get overplayed on FM radio to death. “Hotel Calif” "Sweet Home Alabama” "Brown Sugar” “Roundabout” “Pour Some Sugar On Me” “You’ve Got A Friend” “Imagine” “Sweet Child of Mine” “Iron Man” and thousands and thousand of songs are beat to death. It’s just the way it is. I just tune to another station if this happens. Mostly though these days, I choose what I WANT to hear you know. Well said Mr. Smooth, these are the times we live in these days and at the end of the day we all have "personal choices" to make our decisions on how much money we want to spend for what we like and what we don't like. For us in the USA, we all know Ticketmaster who merged with Livenation, has been a "monopoly" for years. Like you referred to, love it when I saw the CEO of Ticketmaster was called to DC to explain what went wrong with the Taylor Swift fiasco. Was good seeing our congress people like Amy Klobuchar, grilling him about Ticketmaster and him telling everyone that merging with Livenation was actually a "good thing" for everyone?? Yeah right. Perhaps him and George Santos should get together for dinner huh and maybe he can get him some seats and Santos can tell everyone he has been a " Swiftie" for years now LOL! Unfortunately it is not just concerts, took wifey to see The Warriors play back in March 2022. Jesus, $14 for a Corona, $50 to park your car, and I am going to pull a "George Santos" and tell you I got tickets to this game for $90 LOL! Ok, OK, Ok....just let it go. Again, we all have choices. Sometimes though, I just want to do some things, and I throw the " it's too expensive" out the window and just deal with it you know?
  2. Sorry to all: it appears that the lovely "true vision" we use here for Internet, had some sort of problem they "forgot" to tell everyone about here locally in our area. Wifey got them on the phone and read the riot act to them and we got the usual " solly" Something to do with one of the new 5G applications or something. She got me on the phone and the guy apologized too. Amazing Thailand!
  3. Or in my case back in the day, Hostess Twinkies....just saying.
  4. Yeah some of the shows in America are just way overpriced. So any idea how much that ticket in the area you wanted to sit the day they went on sale, with out having to buy from a ticket "broker" was going for? My last 2 concerts that I went to, Mc Cartney in Oakland and Aerosmith in Las Vegas were the 2 most expensive shows I have ever paid for. As long as people pay it, the promoters are going to get it......that simple. Just a side note here, Livenation here in Bangkok was the promoter for the Bryan Adams show right? Thaiticket major sold the tickets. There are no secondary markets here ( that I am aware of) checked Craigslist here too. No one sells tickets here as a secondary provider. Why is that? When you buy your tickets online here, you pay for them, they send you a PDF file to your e-mail right? That ticket has your name on it and your wife/gf etc. They say that the person entering the venue has to show ID to make sure that the name on the ticket, matches the ID. At least that is a somewhat of a good way of having big shows, and thousands of scalpers buying them, then re-selling at much higher prices. Spot on assessment...
  5. The last 3 days I have been unable to see pics from about 3 days ago. When I click on a topic that has pictures, the wheel at the top of my Mac just turns, nothing shows up, screen is blank. Anyone else getting that? Thanks.... Also, tried to send a pic via PM and it loads, says it is "done" but no picture is sent as it does not go through at all.
  6. How did you fall? Just curious. Man, the elbow is incredibly sensitive to say the least. Glad you're on the mend.
  7. Thanks Matt, hey he is at Chase Center July 30th, right in your backyard. This tour he is doing and the setlist he is playing, is a winner for sure. Take your Daughter, it will cost you alot less then "Twice" "Please Believe Me" LOL! Thanks Cliff, yeah this guy is the real deal STILL. Saw him 2 times, both in the 90's and his voice is still right there. By the way, the women there....they like him alot.....dressed to the 9"s. Thanks Roomark, concerts and great music, still a winner after all of these years. Thanks Lemondrop, yeah you only live once. Try to get good pics you know. Wifey is amazing to say the least.....no one messes with her in the "hood" here. She is doing 7, 8 and 9 lb dumbbells these days LOL! Thanks buddy, appreciate that. Oh Derek, you are way too kind. Would you have bought your wife a "Prada" purse for $162k baht? Just curious LOL! Thanks Alan, hope all is well with you and we got to hit a concert one day together before you have to push me in a wheel chair LOL!
  8. Celebrated my b-day downtown for 2 nights as wifey surprised me with that and seeing Bryan Adams in concert. Nice hotel, great grounds in and around the place. 1 1/2 blocks to Siam Paragon/MBK. Did a little shopping, place is always busy. Always an “ adventure” with her. Every purchase will be scrutinized, analyzed, looked at, looked at up in the air, on the ground, and of course, the cell phone will be used to verify its authenticity LOL! I finally had enough of her shit, told her “ I am going to give you exactly 1 minute to decide which fucking eyebrow pencil you want, if you cannot make a decision after looking at everyone of these fucking things after 15 minutes, I am going to put you in a Guillotine Choke Hold. The girls at Sephora will then call the Police and I will be wanted by Interpol” I always leave these places kind of feeling sorry for her you know? Dreaming of the “Prada” purse she will never get…….at least by me! You should see some of the ridiculous prices for some of this shit. Maybe Vin Diesel can buy it for her LOL! So dinner at the Hotel was really good to say the least, same as the Breakfast Buffet in the mornings. 10 minute walk over to “Royal Paragon Hall” where the show was. Got to give it up to the local promoter “Livenation” Want to know how to stop the ticket brokers etc from buying all the tickets, then re-selling them at triple the price? You put your name on the tickets itself and show that the person that bought that ticket, is the one going to the show. Well done to them. 9 shows on this particular tour for Bryan Adams. Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines and last night of the tour in Bangkok. Wifey did good, 4th row reserved seats bit to the left of the stage and great sightlines. 8:15pm out he comes and launches into “ Kick Ass” off his new album. Great opener…well after 40+years of music, he has an extensive catalog of material to play. He did not disappoint at all. His voice is STILL great after all of these years. I think we would all agree, there are a few lead singers you just know their voice and who they are…..even if you don not know ahead of time who it might me. Rod Stewart, Sting, Peter Gabriel, Jon Anderson, Roger Daltrey and a few others. I definitely put Bryan Adams in that category. 2 hour performance non stop, again, played all the material we all wanted to hear that evening. His band is tight, the music was crisp and clear. “Please Forgive Me” “Heaven” “ Go Down Rockin” “Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman” “Here I Am” “Everything I Do, I Do It For You” “18 Till I Die” “Summer of 69” “Cuts Like a Knife” and many others and closed the show with a blistering version of “Run To You” As they were bowing, he throws tons of Guitar picks out to the crowd. Jesus Christ, wifey does a full vertical leap in 4” heels looking like Draymond Green posting in the “paint” against LeBron going for a rebound! She not only got 1 pick, she got 2 right out of the air. I was swatting at flies, I got nothing! She is a beast. She gave 1 to the Thai girl sitting next to her husband…..he was older then me LOL! Cultural thing you know? One hell of a good time.
  9. Just finishing up 2 nights here in Bangkok, off to breakfast shortly. Wifey surprise b-day as I am now closer to 70, then 60 LOL! Took me to see Bryan Adams concert. 40 years of his catalog, was just outstanding. This guy is the real deal!! Pics/narrative soon.
  10. The Tubes indeed.....well what can I say? New Years Eve 1976, I was 20 years old then ( I think) these guys in the bay area were not to be missed. Winterland in SFO on NYE? What could go wrong? LOL! Saw 3 bands that night: 1. Flo and Eddie ( from The Turtles perhaps)? 2. Eddie Money 3. The Tubes They played until 2:00am that night, talk about debauchery! They had this "NYE costume contest" before The Tubes came out right? Each girl came out in some well...rather sultry looking outfits. Fee Waybill was one of the judges. The last girl comes out stark naked, her butt facing the crowd, we were that close as it was general admission show right? She turns around, throws some "glitter" on her coochie, laughs and walks off the stage. Fee Waybill really liked it. Good lord me and my buddies had probably had 850 "bong hits" in the parking lot outside on Post and Steiner St waiting on the sidewalk all day before the show started at 8:00pm. Good God, how I survived that day and many others in the 70's is still a mystery. San Francisco and the bay area in general was THE PLACE to be in the 70's, no doubt about it. Thanks for the trip down memory lane Glass... I go crazy 'cause my folks are so fucking rich Have to score when I get that rich white punk itch Sounds real classy, living in a chateau So lonely, all the other kids will never know We're white punks on dope Mom & Dad live in Hollywood......
  11. Ok May from Bangkok would get my vote....just saying. https://www.hootersasia.com/vote/?utm_source=fb&utm_medium=ads-cta&utm_campaign=finalevote_march_31
  12. Did mine too a few weeks ago from here. I was worried, since my Brother and I had the Living Will Trust from my parents estate to deal with and the sale of their home, 401k etc. About a month before I left, my Brother and I spent $500 for a 1 hour consultation with a tax attorney to discuss just this. We got lucky, no taxes we are responsible on this what so ever! One other thing, at least in Calif where I file. There may be alot of things wrong in America these days but....I have to give kudos to The Franchise Tax Board in Calif......4 days after I filed, the refund money was in my Wells Fargo Account, 8 days after the Federal was in their too.....pretty impressive I think....with all the Gov't red tape these days you know?
  13. Steve, fully agree with your assessment for sure. For me for McCartney, he is one guy for some reason that I have missed for many years and many tours here in USA. He is 80 years old now and with us leaving USA to come back here, I just WAS NOT going to miss seeing him. I was just so livid thinking that he was only playing one show as the first one sold out in 39 minutes. I got in line, verified fan on Ticketmaster, I was like the 1,700th person in line waiting for the first show. When my turn came up, it was sold out. I just knew somehow, that he would add a second show. He did, and I scored the tickets. He is the ONLY guy at this point in life I would pay top dollar to see. It is amazing though, what people will pay if they want to see their " favorite" Matt, these K POP girl bands are huge..I had no idea that they were all that big! Ever heard of "Black Pink"? Bet your Daughter knows how they are. Another K POP girls band, lead singer is Thai. Moved to Korea, speaks fluent Korean and is now a national treasure here amongst young girls. This band is " headlining" at the Coachella Festival in April. I kid you not. They are doing a huge world tour, 2 shows at Rajamangala Stadium Bangkok here in May. Crazy huh? Well things could be worse I guess....if you wanted to see Taylor Swift.
  14. @coxyhog Fully agree Coxyhog...Last May I went to see Paul McCartney back in Calif. Most I have ever spent face value for any event. But....it was worth every penny. There are few "legends" in my mind that are worth that kind of money you know? No since in being the richest corpse in the cemetery? Not that I have to worry about that LOL! Just my opinion of course.
  15. Good decision, well I am going to suggest to wifey that we put a 65 inch TV on the wall right in front of this now LOL! Dam ELO was a great band, saw them in 1976....all the original members at Winterland. No buddy, I live in Minburi at wifeys home. This is "Fitness First" Promenade Mall. 20 minute drive to get there. $14k baht all in for a 1 year membership. By far, the best gym I have been at.
  16. Well.....like alot of us, I am not getting any younger for sure. Just trying to play the odds a bit and stay in shape.Been doing this same routine for many years now. Like I said, yearly physicals and blood tests to check all the vitals are important. I enjoy a little "debauchery" from time to time, AKA Swensen's Chocolate Mint Ice Cream LOL! Just try to balance those things out with a regular routine. These are the times when I really miss Calif, not being able to jog outside at the High School track you know? Not a real fan of wifey's indoor treadmill, and neither is she, but...at my age, there is no way I can run outside in this humidity and especially with the air quality here. I really like the gym I joined 5 months ago....nice girls work out here and are friendly.....even to me 👸 Hope everyone can have good health and nothing but the best. MVI_1761.MP4
  17. Dam, I don't know. Just continues to be a mystery. I am thinking that since there is a "swinging door" in the pic, that perhaps it was not at a hotel, just don't know where it was. Maybe an apt complex in Thailand somewhere? Just do not ever remember going to any girls apt.........that's for sure.
  18. Alright Gentlemen, looking at some old "thumb drives" Wifey was having girls night out last night, so I was "home alone" I for the life of me, cannot remember who this gal is?? She was in my 2006 TR folder and I DO NOT remember her and for sure DO NOT remember taking this picture of her. Anyone perhaps recognize that building in the background? I am at a complete loss. Who ever she was, she had quite the nice body.
  19. Blood Oxygen level a few minutes ago......I'm still alive LOL!
  20. 20 minutes ago for wifey and I......yearly physical in Jan tells us all is well. LDL/HDL levels and all others are good. Very happy to say the least....but....we work on it and don't take it for granted. Just saying....Blood Oxygen levels and weight checks every morning too. All good.
  21. @GlasseyeOne of my favorites.....dam these guys were good!
  22. April 15th 1977 at the Atlanta Braves home opener.
  23. Yeah we have all been there, complete buzz waiting for the flight here to BKK, then the complete smile on your face as you are rumbling down the runway to get here. The bad news is rumbling down the runway on the return flight home......I usually took a "prozac" LOL! Glad you had a good tour though and great to finally meet you in person. If Mr. Smooth gets here in June, I will go check "Nii" at Crazy House and see how she is doing...and will report back...unless of course that bastard Boydeste is now sending her 100k baht per month "sponsorship" money...so she is out of the game now..
  24. Just curious, Lynyrd Skynyrd was popular in the UK back in the day or not? Not sure " southern rock" would be popular over there? As I look back on some of their tour schedules, it appears they played quite a few shows in Europe over the years.
