  1. No Tesco Lotus back then, but I was there when the 7-11 opened.
  2. You're about 40 km west of where I lived when I first moved to Thailand. I lived about seven months in Buntharik. I really enjoyed living there, but left to escape my then GF's greedy, thankless family.
  3. Well that didn't last long. Too bad as it was a great view of Pattaya.
  4. A to B. Transport drops us off at the start point, we then follow hanging paper the hares had previously use to mark the trail. Along the way we occasionally encounter checks and backchecks to solve to once again find true trail. Eventually we make it to end of the trail where a truck with cold beers and food awaits us.
  5. Now recovering from yesterday's hash run. Trail was only 8km in length, but we had to slog our way through overgrown, muddy creek beds at the start, then up and over one of the Khao Mai Kaeo hills. The midday heat was brutal. About halfway up the steep hill I was wishing I had skipped the run. A buddy of mine was thinking the same, but he was doing it while puking his guts out. Fun times. On On 👣
  6. ^^^ Mot daeng, nasty fckers. I make it a point to check the ground before standing too long in one place, and I don't linger under mango trees where they like to make their nests.
  7. Teacher : Use "harassment" in a sentence. Little Johnny: Her mouth said 'no', but her ass meant 'yes'.
  8. I'd be looking for clean underwear if I were on this road during the earthquake.
  9. You do know you're lusting after an AI image, right? https://wasitai.com/
  10. Interesting article on how a 730 ton steel ball protects the tallest building in Taipei. How a steel ball protected Taiwan’s tallest skyscraper in an earthquake Video of the ball doing its thing during an earthquake in 2022. Many buildings have similar type dampening systems, one of which is the Citicorp building in NYC. Looking into that building's system led me to this very interesting, at least to me, article on a design flaw in the Citicorp building that a college student caught. 11. I had the same thoughts as to how they would handle beer purchases. I can't see how a bin system would work; I expect it will be pay as you order.
  12. It is an odd design. Every bar beer distribution point (BDP) offers the same beer at the same price for customers to drink in what looks like a shared common space. The only distinguishing charateristic between each of the cookie cutter BDP's is a cookie cutter sign with a different name above each BDP. If I were an prospective owner, I'd be hard pressed to see the value propistion of buying a BDP in the LV Beer Garden.
  13. Latest word is Nicky's is hoping to move to the new location in June, but since TIT, July is more likely. Pictures of the construction as of this morning.
  14. A good example of what utter exhaustion looks like. Congratulations to Jasmin, the first woman to finish all sections of the Barkley.
  15. I finally had enough of Windows 11 and bought a new laptop which I've downgraded to Windows 10. Moving my apps over to the new laptop has gone smoothly and I'm quite pleased how fast everything is running, and how fast reboots are compared to Win 11. Hopefully Microsoft does better on their next OS version.
  16. Construction underway for two new bars on Soi Full Love Inn. Tiger Club next to the new Estobest. And a currently unnamed bar next to Club Secret.
  17. Out of curiosity, what was the damaged caused by the acetic acid? What was the remedy the other contractor proposed?
  18. Amazing the number of posters that did catch on to what day this is. Just proves once again how many people don't use critical thinking skills.
  19. This had me ROFL. A 747 pilot getting airsick in a sailplane. That surprised me because with all his hours in a plane I would have thought he would be acclimated to turbulence. Cued to start at the funny part, but if you go back to the beginning there's good video of the process of assembling a sailplane.
  20. Make up the difference by extending Sollers Point and Hawkins Point out about 600m?
  21. Video of the first cut. It'll be interesting to see what design they use for the replacement bridge. On design I heard that could be under consideration would be a cable-stayed bridge. It would get my vote as I think it's a beautiful looking bridge.
  22. It's a great view of Pattaya. Much better view than the one out my window.
  23. ^^^ Notice it starts with one person in the rubber raft. The person flips off at the last moment and then the video cuts to the dummy flying across the water. A good stupid human trick vid none the less. While looking for a better quality vid of the above I came across this one. It's a borderline stupid human trick, but looks fun as hell. I would try it.
