  1. Living room has 37 sqm, bedroom 19 sqm. Normal room height. If you have a 2-storey with open stairs it will add to the volume, of course. What is quickly? Fast enough, I would say. Maybe 1 hour from 50 to 20 in the bedroom? Something like this. Maybe faster in full speed instead auto? The indication is quite accurate, compared it with the data from https://www.iqair.com/thailand/chon-buri/pattaya Just don't forget to remove the plastic protection film before starting it up....otherwise you can wait forever. As I have some allergy issues I let it sometimes run through the night, goes down to 4 or 5. Didn't improve the allergy issues though, maybe it is the alcohol and not the blossoms.
  2. Next evening we had some seafood: whinged bean salad with shrimps, Pla kapong nueng manao and omlette with crab. Washed down with a Riesling. The wine was served from the restaurant next door, called The wave. Opened some 9 month ago, the food pics on their web site looked awesome, will try it on my next visit. Cocktails were great, Gin tonic and a Daiquiri: We enjoyed the trip, but 2 nights were more than enough.
  3. Over to the Bali Pizza joint, mixing your own will gets you what you want. The place was packed as some government employees from Korat were enjoying themselves, probably burning some tax payers money.
  4. We had dinner in the Tequila Sunrise. Food on the other table looked good, we were not that hungry and ordered just some snacks. The Margaritas were horrible though, tasted like watered lemon juice.
  5. In front of the Grand Blue the pick ups were line up, but overall it was quiet, a bit busier on Friday/Saturday.
  6. Went again to Laem Mae Phim, stayed 2 nights in the Grand Blue. Arrived on a Thursday, only ground floor rooms were available, no breakfast buffet. Walk-in price 1200 Bt. Next day was 1400 incl breakfast which was forgettable. Beside what you see one could get some fruits, that's all. Coffee was drinkable. Better book without breakfast and order a la carte. There were some workers with electric tool working on the decking directly next to the water, so I spend less time in the pool than I had planned. Ao Khai was nice as usual..... ...until some brain dead farangs turned up and took over the beach despite some small children running around. I was wondering why nobody called the Bib, even in Thailand it is not allowed to operate motor vehicles on the beach. The staff of a hotel told us they were coming already for the second day.
  7. 2988 Bt at Thaiwatsadu. Has 2.5 ppm indication, manual fan speed or changes speed according air contamination. Read somewhere that all the other stuff like ionization is not necessary. Might buy a second as I am too lazy to move it from bedroom to living room an vice versa.
  8. Mine was plastic and it fell into pieces after 2 years. Have now a solid wood table with benches, will last forever if varnished from time to time.
  9. Departed from BKK to Frankfurt via Doha with Qatar airways middle of March. Airport was not really busy, some check-in sections deserted, like this one: Was flying Economy to Frankfurt and the check-in just had opened when arriving 4 hours before departure. Not many passengers in the queue at this time, had to wait maybe 5 minutes. Scanning of carry-on and the immigration was quick. With plenty of time on hands, I wandered across the whole airport to find a nice place to have some food, but many shops and restaurants were closed and under renovation. Only Burger King had a queue and later I was told they ran out of beef patties (it was close to midnight). Arrived at the gate a bit early which was still closed and had to walk a bit to other gates to find an empty seat. The flight had many empty seats, most of the 3-seaters had 2 passengers. Arriving at Doha in the early hours the airport was busier than BKK. The leg to Frankfurt was almost empty. The return flight was on business and in Frankfurt I could use the Air Canada lounge. Check-in was still closed when I arrived 3 hours and 10 minutes before departure. The staff had no clue about Thailands entry requirements and had to discuss with the supervisor for some time. Emirates was more clued up 3 month ago. The business class was maybe 60% booked, no idea about economy. The duty free shop in Doha was packed with Indians and Filipinos. Business class to BKK was sold out. Getting out of the plance there was a check-point were 2 staff had a quick glance at the documents (Thai pass, hotel reservation and insurance; PCR Test was not required anymore) and stamped the arrival card. One of the 2 immigration points in BKK was closed and the officer there sent us back in the wrong direction to where the immigration for the Phuket flight was located. A**hole!. When arriving at the luggae belt, my bags had arrived (thanks to VIP sticker and the idot of immigration officer who made me walk an additional km). Then similar to 3 month ago the arrival hall was bustling like a bee stock with passengers sesrching or waiting for their pick-up and hotel representatives trying to arrange the cars. According to the list I was supposed to take a shared car to Sunshine Garden but I told them that I had booked a private car and insisted on it. 15 minutes later I got the car while others who arrived earlier were still waiting.
  10. I am a sauce-type of-guy with most of the dishes. Lasagna without being covered properly with cheese and sauce often becomes dry as it is usually pre-cooked and then re-heated. Many times the pasta has become hardened or burned at the edges already, horrible. Also a tomato based sauce gives a nice balance in flavours to the meat sauce between the sheets. The pic above is my favorite serving style, loads of cheese 😍
  11. Why it is impossible to get a good lasagne with a creamy sauce in Thailand but get it almost everywhere in Germany?
  12. Went 2019 to BHP because I had a feeling, that my right eye sight was not very good despite trying different glasses. There was a young, pretty lady doctor but she couldn't find anything wrong. Two years later a male doctor at BHP diagnosed the eye to have cataract which needs to be observed. Not sure if the lady doc should have detect it earlier already or not. Just a heads up in case a pretty lady is staring into your eyes.
  13. Didn't look at all the details, just some comments: I am with Stillearly regarding the storage. Make a list what is in your bath now and what should be in the new apartment. One sink enough, no need to be large. Better have some space to the side to put some stuff you use regulary. Towel rack: to store several fresh towels is ok in a hotel, or if you change them daily. Otherwise 2 tubes/rails or a double rail for 2 towles to hang and dry is enough. Don't like hooks, those towels always drop down when I use them. (Maybe there is a trick I don't know?) No bathtub for me, though when getting older a hot tub might help the back aches. Prefer it being seperate from the shower (yes, I know, no space), as climbing into it becomes more inconvenient an dangerous with age. Mirror: backlight looks nice but some lamps to light up your face for shaving might be good, such as pendant lights or spot lights. A shelf with mirror door doesn't look nice but it brings the mirror closer to the face and gives additional storage. Exhaust is a must for a windowless room, bad smell and moisture should be removed. Better to connect it to a separate switch and not to the light switch, as they can be noisy and you don't want to heat them each time you go to the bath room. Rainshowers are nice but a second hand shower is a must for the ladies, they don't want to get their hair wet or wear shower caps. A slab under the shower head is good if you are getting older but will take some space. Consider to put a chair or bench in when you really need it.
  14. Went to the LK trademart yesterday to buy some Fireball which is on their list for 1000 Bt, but no have. Also no Aperol or La Vida red wine (not on their list). Overall they didn't have a lot of choices. A bit further up the road towards Sukhumvit is Suphamitr on left hand side, again no sucess. Another stonethrow, again left hand side, is another shop which had the Fireball for 980 Bt and Lavida 5 l at 1080 Bt (used to be below 1000 Bt, but price has gone up everywhere). This shop seems to have a good selection, so if you try to find something, you should try here.
  15. I shop either in Friendship or Villa market. Sometimes Friendship is cheaper, sometimes not. Here a recent price list, unfortunately incomplete, but will give you some indication. 16. Has become our favorite place, we are having dinner here at least once a week. Thank you for not following my recommendation, which means it is still peaceful and quiet here. May it long last.
  17. Yesterday Aperol Spritz. Tonight it's a rum I bought from a tiny destilllary in the djungle near Nongkhai with their own sugar cane syrup and lemon juice. A dream.
