  1. Is that a traffic cone in the third picture between Norway and Greenland?
  2. A friend of mine Thai wife living in the UK was constantly been asked for more and more money by her parents. They told her that her sister who lived in Japan was not sending home any money. My friends son visited his aunt in Japan and she asked why is her sister not sending money home.
  3. How much for a box 6ft x 2ft x 2ft return.
  4. I believe whenever you reach Pattaya all plans go out the window. Best first night I had was also my first ever night in Pattaya, I had previously stayed in Bangkok and traveled all over Thailand but never Pattaya. So my first night was book into Privi Suites and then I met a group of guys from Pattaya Addicts for a Friday night pub crawl along Walking Street, brilliant night from what I can remember. Would love to do something similar on my return.
  5. For last few years I have put off redecorating my flat, main excuse was I was unable to stand on a stepladder for more than 20 minutes without causing a lot of pain in my ankle. Finally decided to build a platform and use that. So no excuses now.
  6. I still have his books, really enjoyed reading and re reading them.
  7. My Uncle is in his late 80's and lives alone in his West London house, his Grandson wants him to move up to Leeds where he lives with his family but he refuses. As I am his only relative that lives in London and live about 4 miles away I have been called to replace glass in his door. He broke it as he locked himself out, twice. He also let a complete stranger move in, she was a neighbour in her late 60's that he didn't know. She had an arguement with her family and he just let her stay for a week, again his Grandson calls can I pop around and see what he's upto?
  8. Hoping to book Christmas in LOS, go early in December and back early in January. All depends on Covid restrictions and flight prices.
  9. I was another that used WestEast Travel, sad to hear they have gone. Flight Centre was another I used, they were very helpful when I had a flight booked in December 2013 at the time of the Yellow shirt take over of Swampy. They rebooked me when the protest ended and so no problems when I got to Heathrow, guy at the next counter couldn't get on the Eva flight as tickets had been reallocated. They used to have a store in my local town which closed during covid and has not reopened. One year I tried booking with Eva direct using points saved but the ticket was only £1 cheaper with Eva than with West East so I decided to let West East take their commission. Take a few pounds out of Eva's pocket!
  10. Thanks Forcebwithu, nice map.
  11. Thanks Derek, It was something that I always wondered about. There was so few buses going northward on this route at night that I thought the buses either went up Third road or Sukumvit and back along Soi Bhaukao. So the mystery remains of where do the the buses that go southward come from. Sorry I've too much time on my hands at the moment.
  12. I used to get the Baht Bus to Walking Street but late at night when returning most Buses used to continue along South Road. I recall one night waiting 15-20 minutes on Soi Bhaukao watching Buses go pass towards Sukumvit road. Just curious but where did these buses go?
  13. So if MIT and Soi's 7&8 are basically no more and according to Cartonman's latest picture of LK Metro this appears to be nearly all Go-Go bars where are all the all girls gone? I see some bars are opening on the east side of Soi Bhuakow and Tree Town has grown but is this it? I've never been a great favourite of the Go-Go's too loud for my old ears and always seen Soi 6 as a daytime and early evening area where the girls mainly done short time above the bars, not good for my old knees.
  14. Made in Thialand was always one of my favourite spots, there had to have been 30-40 bars there, is there an area that they have moved to that now has a large bar area?
  15. Thanks Cartoonman, looks like LK Metro is open but Walking street still only half open. Does anyone know how the small bar areas like Made in Thailand are doing?
  16. I recall in late seventies in Ireland petrol neared £1 per gallon and a lot of pumps back then could not cope with higher than 99.9p per gallon so they changed the internals of the pumps to read litres, which dropped the price to 25.0p per litre.
  17. Pipe lengths are sold in meters. So if you go into a plumber merchants and ask for a length of inch and half waste pipe you would get a 3 meter length of 40mm pipe.
  18. 15mm and half inch, 22mm and 3/4 inch pipes are very similar and fitters still use imperial terminology so technically if a fitter requests 1/2 inch he would get 15mm. Same as waste pipes are still refered to as inch and a half but on the pipe it states 40mm. inch and a quarter is a 32mm pipe. As far as I'm aware the plumbing was changed in the early 70's in line with currency.
  19. Ireland changed to metric years ago, all measurements in litres and kilometers but their plumbing is still imperial. England changed their plumbing to metric back in the 70's. I found this out when I went home I could use UK 15mm connectors on Irish 1/2 inch pipes but when I came back to the UK I had leaks when a few Irish 1/2 inch connectors got mixed with English 15mm copper.
  20. This is Boris trying to divert everyone away from Sue Gray's report on Covid parties. Same as Rishi Suknak's £400 bribe was timed to do the same thing.
  21. Hi Campario I like the small bars where you can sit and chat with a girl or play pool. Rompho market looks interesting. Hi Toyboy, never heard of Bolt? I assume you would call them from your mobile?
  22. When in Pattaya I was planning a trip to Jomtiem, is there any good bars there? Is it worth a day/evening? I assume the Baht bus still runs from South Pattaya road? But how easy is it to get a motorbike back?
  23. Wow! Thanks Stillearly. I was worried the toilet and shower were more open but looked good. I love swimming but prefer to do so in the shade as less chance of heat stroke. Balcony looked very small but the view didn't look like much. The Suite looked fantastic but definately out of my budget
