  1. I'm convinced that there is a limit to what anyone can do to extend life and/or quality thereof. I believe healthy habits are important and extend/improve life to a degree, but ultimately not much, if anything, will trump you getting a bad hand genetically.
  2. This song from Oliver Anthony is going past viral in the US this week ... some are calling it the protest song of the generation, cuts across politics, race, whatever. Listen for the line about epstein's Island
  3. Huh ... that's going to come as a shock to Schmit's family. Maybe you mean the fellow TBS replaced in both Poco and Eagles, Randy Meisner.
  4. Reminds me of the classic Twilight one episode a Small talent for War
  5. That would be a fried egg's nightmare; no place to rest w/o being abused by beans.
  6. Yes, one of my memories of his Secrets posts was how proud he was of his BMW, how he pampered it, and how technologically advanced they were. Then he lost his key fob and got charged something like $800 for a new one so he sold the car instead.
  7. There's a name from the past. What became of AZ? I had a similar argument with him about the Youngs Scot background where AZ disputed accounts that amongst the reasons for their short stature was stunted growth from toxic materials they lived in on their Scottish council estates during formative years.
  8. That's why you see so many with broken axles. They add leaf springs and don't do anything to reinforce the axle.
  9. Good for your mates; whatever makes someone happy. I suppose it is also indicative of the difference between 2-week millionaires and those of us that live here longer. Myself, I've never seen a 'stunner' at either NEP or Thermae, nice looking girls sure but nothing that makes me go Wow I have to plug that. I happen to like Thermae better as it gives one a chance to see how the prospects dress/comport themselves. Some of the best entertainment to be had at NEP is watching those sexy vixens in g strings come out clothed in hello kitty overalls and pigtails and walk hand-in-hand with their customers back to the horizontal tango. There was a time I could do that, but just too old now for that walk of shame.
  10. Just from my experience in both Thermae and Billboard; your pick of the litter at Thermae will be superior and less expensive than any of the Billboard pool. Downside is you might end up with a longer term mia noi. But maybe that's not a downside. Perspective can be everything.
  11. I used to jump out of perfectly good airplanes, mostly Hercules C-130s for a living and then later as a hobby. Most people have a natural fear on the first jump, even when on a static line. My first trainer/instructor got most of us over that fear simply bringing to our attention that the most dangerous part of the day was the ride out to plane and the ride back on public roads.
  12. Sorry dude ... Clint Eastwood is the greatest. I like Cruise's movies for the most part but he tends to reach, e.g., as Jack Reacher, for roles he's too short to pull off. That said, they all make forgettable movies and that Eastwood monkey movie was pretty bad.
  13. I had more than my share of let's leave it at inebriated TB stops back in the day stumbling out of the bars. It may be true that like the old country song that all the girls get prettier at closing time. It is absolutely true that the drive thru at TB at 3am is much more entertaining than closing time in the bars.
  14. Sorry dude but that makes Taco Bell look good.
  15. I thought emptying containers of salad dressing into bowls they brought from home a bit over the top.
  16. I was at the Central Festival Sizzler last month for lunch and pigged out on the blue cheese (maybe not authentic but it tasted good) and the salad bar special. IIRC about 139 Baht. Meanwhile a couple of guys came in as I was reloading, and looked to be making an effort to sit in a corner away from others. Both ordered one of the lunch specials, something just under 200 Baht I think, that came with the salad bar. At first I thought it strange that they discretely as they could brought out their own plastic bowls with a roll of saran plastic wrap. I lingered a while and for a 3rd helping of the blue cheese dressing and learned how to cheap charlie. Both guys kept at the salad bar grazing and had their main course meals boxed up for take away, along with a few snide pieces of pastries and plastic bowls of salad dressing. Every day is a school day in Pattaya.
  17. But what do you really think?
  18. Old Tony Romo dodged a bullet there.
