  1. Take your brolly mate... has Puang any unusual food cravings?
  2. Just waking up after the first night in my new Silentnight Hotel Classic bed. Always had a good night's sleep in the Travelodge bed and Silentnight sell it at £499 for the mattress only It is the super king version, absolutely beautiful. The two babes are still in the land of nod so think they like it as well.
  3. Both different animals, would depend on your needs, your company etc
  4. Prachuap Khiri Khan is a very well presented place to visit, the bay is lovely, have eaten at many of the sea front restaurants. Get on to the base, drive across the runway (when the planes are not landing) and visit the home of the dusky langurs. Meant to be docile and tame but don't hold on to your food for too long, they will be on your head, your back and grabbing the food from your hands. Many fine beaches south of Hua Hin. Dolphin bay is another one and if you have kids an afternoon or night at Dolphin Bay resort is fun.
  5. Pattaya has changed but so have I. The new Pattaya still fulfills my needs.
  6. Just having my first beer since last Sunday, tasting good. it's Sadler's Mad City Stout. Other than being locked in the bathroom for 90 mins it's be a good day.
  7. There is a mangrove walk at the tourist centre to Sam Roi Yot which is well south of Hua Hin but worth a visit, occasionally see the dusky langurs on the roofs and in the trees. There are plenty of places to see the fishing boats.....around the end of the beach at Khao Takiab on the inlet channel to the sea where there are also some nice seafood restaurants. You can see fishing boats on the river near Pak Nam Pran as well but not many tourists get that far south of HH.
  8. Just spent 1.5 hours locked in a bathroom. Moved to a flat today, great place except for the fact that I got locked in the bathroom when trying out the locks/windows etc (child checks etc). The deadlock went on but couldn't open. Thankfully Porn was there and after calling the estate agent we eventually got a locksmith out. Thankfully also it was me that got stuck and not the wee one hence the checks. Not my idea of a nice afternoon being stuck in a loo, still I am out and now moving my gear.
  9. Just got back from hiring a Hertz car, moving to a flat tomorrow, needed some wheels. Got a KIA Sportage SUV GT, nice motor....
  10. Never been mate so I will need to get my old arse down there to feel even older among your lovely ladies.
  11. Really a turn off for me but I am talking about the ones covering legs, upper backs, arms, ankles and particularly on the breasts; my favourite part of a females anatomy and they stick tattoos on them, why would you? Seen girls with them on the small of their back and as much as I would rather they didn't have them in that area it doesn't really turn me off, maybe because if am seeing that area then the position I am in is likely to have other rewards.
  12. As Mike said it is easy to use Tuk Tuks, they are relatively cheap compared to the same services in such cities as Phuket and Koh Samui. Easy to walk around the main areas and along the long beach. Depending also on what standard of hotel you stay at you may find a shuttle service into town, you may need to take a taxi or Tuk Tuk back to your residence if a late owl. Bikes are relatively cheap to hire, I know of deals at 2000 baht a month but no more than 3000 baht. Not sure if you drive or ride bikes. Getting to Hua Hin is also relatively easy by bus from Swampy or Pattaya. You also have the boat to get from Pattaya to Hua Hin across the gulf.
  13. I would recommend Hua Hin to anybody, the coastline from Cha Am down south past Khao Takiab south of Hua Hin contains many great hotels. Life doesn't all revolve around the Hilton although for single guys I doubt they would need anywhere else. So much to do around the city. I did a Hua Hin blog on another forum, maybe I will get Phil to lift it. A lot of good info and links, some may be out of date but pertinent details for those traveling in the area.
  14. Have you made the top floor bar yet Mike, well worth the time to see the view at sunset and happy hour drink prices are very reasonable.
  15. Glad to see a forum that appears welcoming to all, wonder why other forums fail that ideal.............
  16. Just realising, with work, I just don't have enough time to look through all the threads created on this forum, that is a good sign of an evolving forum. Will try to make time tomorrow to check the forum content thoroughly. Enjoying what I am reading. Breath of fresh air.
  17. Never been but the photos really make me want to go, only issue would be the many tourists spoiling the perfect view. Thanks for posting.
  18. Nearly got the bonus number as well but 2 away. Still better than a kick up the arse.
  19. Had a little bit of a shock, just checked my lotto numbers for Saturday and discovered I got 5 numbers. Not big money but £1548 is a nice bonus for the weekend.
  20. The Ladyboy show is on and all of a sudden the place is packed, everybody taking photos including loads of guys. Just kind of find that wrong especially as the Beyonce look alike looks more like Cruella DeVille. By the way Andy has disappeared again, coincidence?
  21. We walked into the Thai festival and immediately lost Andy. Thought he had found the local soi 6 facility but stupid me, he had found the beer tent. Having a good time with Gazza, Adam, Andy and families. Fun for a few hours. Singha beer £10 for 4 cans, Thai food dishes around £5. All having a great time
  22. Just woken up after a 9 hour sleep (much needed). Need to contact Andy to see what time this crew is going to meet up at the Bristol Thai festival, meeting Gazza and AJSP also.
