  1. Cheers, just joined. So sale starts on Monday then, don't see anything about it yet when logged in as frequent flyer. Would suit me as well, would be flying 22nd -29th July.
  2. Probably due to the dates i was looking at, school holidays.
  3. @Binlid i've always found Bangkok Airways mad expensive. When i seen your 5960 Baht for return, i thought wow! I'm having a look myself, can't see anything like that from either Bangkok airport, more like that price one way.
  4. Simple, but lovely. Steamed seabass in ginger 🫚
  5. This EE Advert. It's quality, insomnia by Faithless and kid's going mad when the wifi gets turned off, it's so true Genius!
  6. Christy Moore's being doing it for years, well before mobile phones. Just people talking too loud of whatever during a concert. This one's brilliant - Ireland's beloved Christy Moore told some of the louder members of the audience where to go during his gig in Vicar Street. "I'd like to apologise to anybody sitting near to those wa**kers on the balcony there," Christy says to the audience. He looks up towards the balcony , saying: "I don't know if you can hear me, but I can hear you all night. Get your money back and fu**k off!" https://www.sundayworld.com/videos/get-your-money-back-and-fuk-off-christy-moore-having-none-of-it-during-his-gig/41106913.html
  7. Absolutely Gal, has been my mindset for a couple of years now, and i'm loving life, doing things i always wanted to, dreamt about, but never got around to doing. Tomorrow is promised to no one, enjoy life while you can!
  8. In the UK, rate cuts are more likely than rate cuts at the moment. Though i can't see either for a while.
  9. Dreading the gym for January, as the New Year's Resolutioners descend
  10. 50 to Lapland 88 to Thailand Best not get mixed up in my luggage, my mankini wouldn't be best for -20 in Lapland, or snowboots for 38degrees Bangkok March/April
  11. Yea, think it's mostly late arrivals. No idea why but, before Covid they were fine. Now they're nearly always late. Sometimes that late they take off without luggage ffs. I've got so pissed off with them and late take offs, seeing Thai leave ages ago on the board, that i've booked Thai for my Easter trip.
  12. The above posts remind me of a trip a while ago where i had to kinda 'lay down the law' to my wife about such things as taking stuff through airports for anyone. She was getting a small parcel dropped off at our King Power hotel before flying back to the UK a few days later. It was for a Thai friend in the UK, some herbs or something apparently. I told her no, contact the girl, tell her your husband doesn't allow you to take anything through airports for anyone at anytime. She was like why, she can be naïve about such things. I told her although she knew and worked with the girl, she didn't know what was in the parcel, maybe the girl didn't either. It could be drugs at worst, or prohibited herbs at best. But no matter, she wasn't taking it anyway, full stop! She was a bit sad, she's such a kind girl, didn't want to upset her work mate. But i tried to explain it to her like we don't take a chance ever, imagine it was something like drugs, it would jail, our daughter without a mummy, or probably a Daddy, as push come to shove, i'd have taken the wrap instead of her anyway. I said just tell them your husband said no, never. Nothing personal, but made her promise to never ever take anything through an airport for anyone else. She gets it now. That said i seen her leave our suitcases to go to the toilet in an airport after that, and had to lay down the law again. Maybe it's because in a previous life i've walked through customs with stuff in my suitcase that would've got me 15 years. But she's clued up now, though sob stories like the one that would probably be spun above would have her feeling guilty and wanting to help, which is exactly what gets played on to do such things.
  13. Look forward to watching your episode of 'Banged up abroad'
  14. Gal, i strongly recommend getting some grief counselling to help you process this, or even after you process it a bit yourself. The hospice where Jan was will either offer it or know where to access it. You've been amazing to her all through this, i have no doubt she would have been so proud to have you as a brother through this. Grief affects people in all sorts of different ways, you'll know yourself how you're feeling, what's going on, you have good self awareness. PM me anytime, chat, meet up, whatever. Though you know the score yourself, if you go to QPR with me, they could be playing the local pub team and get beat 4-0 ffs! Please also continue to use this forum as you have, either through getting sober or helping Jan as much as you could. People think a lot of you, and there's good help and support for you here, please don't isolate. Thinking of you mate.
  15. Having an Ulster Fry before heading to the airport for London. @Derek Dangleberries You know the score!
  16. Went out for Christmas meal, was expensive, but wonderful. My mum's in her 70's, too old for making a Xmas Dinner, krapow was a non starter, so out we went.
