  1. Just sorting out my Christmas presents for all 24/7 board members in the sale today.
  2. What could it possibly be, the suspense is killing me ... Yaaasssss, my Christmas is complete 🤣
  3. I think it's a very poignant subject for this forum, considering what happened to Lanza. Think I read a statistic, 1 in 2 will get cancer in their lifetime. Of course not all will die, but that's a horrific statistic non the less. I have a service user at the moment who has cervical cancer, spreading fast. And has been down too many conspiracy rabbit holes online. She say's she doesn't trust hospitals, won't do chemo or let them burn out the cancer cells, is doing the 'holistic' approach. A load of various herbs bought online ffs. Have spoke with my Manager who agrees with me that she has capacity, she's told her oncologist, that we have to respect her wishes, but prepare myself for her to die. It's kinda like there's no need to die, but she won't entertain the treatment the hospital advise due to irrational (in my opinion) views. Anyway, I also fully understand when Gal says there is some release in that there will be no more suffering when his sister passes. I feel the exact same about my Da in the care home. He's my Dad, of course it'll hurt, but I know there will be no more suffering for him. Life's a c**t sometimes, but just pressing the f**k it button when shite things happen doesn't help at all. And will only make you feel worse.
  4. I love Christmas, always have. I think I enjoyed the trip to Lapland and seeing Santa more than my 7 year old lol. When I was 'on it', I used to think it was a time when everyone got as f***d up as I did all year, so was all good. But I still like the whole buzz clean and sober. I suppose it's moreso now as I have a child and want her to have the same magical time I had as a child. Anyway, Happy Christmas, you bunch of degenerate sex pests, and keep doing your bit for the Isaan economy in the new year!
  5. Bacon from my wife's burger. She doesn't like bacon, too salty. Kem lol. Daughter loves it like me, so handed over 👍
  6. Usual Stansted Airport breakfast, on way to the Land that time forgot for Christmas, and have a couple of Ulster frys.
  7. Think it was fawanews. It's decent most of the time.
  8. Nice one. It was my 3rd clot when they said okay, think you should stay on the blood thinning medication now. Which i grudgingly agreed to do. Hopefully you'll not have another. But if you do, you'll now know the pain and what it is straight away. Good luck!
  9. Watching the boxing on a decent stream. f**k paying PPV.
  10. Played it a few times with the inlaws. They used a kinda bamboo 'ball'. I always end up with bruised ankles
  11. Yes, it has to get lodged with the Court, and you know stuff like that takes time to be fully done.
  12. Each morning when i wake up, my Bank App is the first thing i check, make sure all's okay. Like most, i have had fraudulent activity on my account before, was 3 identical attempts of M&S purchases, 2 went through, 3rd the Bank blocked as was flagged as dodgy. They sent me a text saying did i know and want to approve it, reply yes or no. So as soon as i seen that at 8am when i woke, called them straight away, put through to the fraud department. They said card was compromised, someone had the details. Blocked, new one sent. I asked how did they think that could happen, they said not to stress over it, very common, most likely used it somewhere who's security wasn't great and breached. Anyway, money refunded no problem. And as @Pumpuynarak says, Power of Attorney i will be doing in January, have already spoke to the solicitor. Will put my wife, brother and daughter on it. Basically my younger brother is well clued up in such things, as when my Dad had his stroke, was permanently incapacitated so couldn't communicate and brain damaged, was an absolute nightmare, and a costly nightmare via the Courts at that, to get things sorted. It's like insurance, you pay it and hope you'll never need it, but i don't want my wife to have to try and navigate that minefield with no POI. I also changed my bank account a few months ago, to a better rate, and checked my daughter's child ISA which i pay into each month was back up to a good rate, which it is. Small things like the above you can do, but can save a fair bit over a year, same as haggle over phone/sky/TNT/whatever contracts. 5min phone call can save you £100's over a year.
  13. I wasn't aware of that, no. Or i would have bought it off you before booking. A quick check shows it can only be used to book flights, not for extras like seats or food etc, or i still would have got it off you now. But, if i enjoy Giellajohka as much as i think i will, i plan on doing it as a yearly thing each February, a wilderness pilgrimage retreat, if you like I notice Finn Air allow you to book near enough a year in advance, so would certainly give you £20 for it in March if it's still available, when i could book for next Feb.
  14. First time reading this thread, as will only fly direct to Thailand. But using Finnair in Feb to fly to Northern Lapland, so was interested. Surprised me some posters at the start saying Helsinki was a shambles. Anything i've read about it, and all recently in various Lapland groups, was Helsinki was small, well run and very easy to navigate. I'm not bothered anyway, both going and coming back have stop offs of 2 and half hours going, and 4 hours back, the 4 hours i've booked the non Schengen lounge. So plenty time if need be. I rang Finn Air this morning, and was actually talking to a human, i assume a Finn, in about 1minute, which happily surprised me. On my flights i also have free internet (for messaging?), free 'berry juice'. Wowzer! I could've got direct flights via easyjet or Ryanair to Rovaniemi, then got a 6 hour train to where i want to to go for about £200 cheaper. But the Finn Air times suit me, leave Heathrow at 10.20am, means i can get a good night's sleep, up at 6am, breakfast, shower, and be at Heathrow in plenty of time, at a cost of about £2. Don't want to be wrecked on a short 6 day trip that will involve a ,lot of physical stuff like trekking, cross country skiing etc. The Easyjet and Ryanair were Gatwick (which always concerns me re delays anyway) and Stanstead, with associated extra cost each way and either about 6am or 6pm starts. With Finn Air, change at Helsinki, fly to Ivalo, 1 and half hour to where i want to go at https://www.giellajohka.com/ Quite looking forward to flying with them. I'll update the thread, pics of the lounge etc.
  15. Would you not think of seasoning them chips a bit?
  16. Ambulance chasers! It was that bad on Saturday, even Santa was getting booed at Parkhead
  17. Yes, i dread when the day comes where i have to say okay, i can't do what i like doing at the gym anymore. I do circuits, and HIIT, and can do circuits that has people 20 years younger than me struggling. It's something i have thought about, though currently no indications of having to slow down, except i take a bit longer to 'recover' after a good gym session. I mean, i know i'll just adjust what i do, not stop, but it'll be a sad day, a reality check of where i am at, at that time. It's also why i'm living my life to the full as much as i can nowadays. I loved Lapland, the silence, calm in the snowy wilderness. Came back a couple of days, contacted the guide we used, booked to go back in Feb myself for a proper wilderness adventure at a remote lodge type place he works/relaxes at. Would be too cold and strenuous for my 2 girls. You'd need a decent level of fitness for what we have planned, snowshoe trekking, cross country skiing, snowmobiling etc. I know i'll love it, and it'll help my mental and physical health. 60 days and counting ...
  18. Thinking of @Phantom51red at this sad time. Thoughts and prayers
  19. Quite pleased i sent over March/April's money via Wise a couple of days ago. Paid with card (£10) but still got 44.5
