  1. Nice to see Sterling creeping back up a bit. 44 again would be nice. In the recent past it's always dropped in value just before I arrive
  2. Just a quick question. Looking at the various Thai SIM deals, they specify time options ie 30 days etc is this just for data or is it for the number itself? Can you top up a SIM card just make and recieve calls after the expiry of the package? If that makes sense. I am not really bothered about the data allowance as I mostly use local WiFi, but more interested in just making and recieving local calls So for instance, if I bought a 7 day package at the airport of 7/11 etc, can I top it up after 7 days? Or does the line and number simply expire? They don't seem to make that clear on the package details.
  3. I had a feeling that you might The bath was heaven. Do they still sell Matey?. I went for Waterose luxury bath cream bath and a loofah sponge.
  4. Just run a nice hot bath and soak for a while on a miserable cold and wet day. I normally shower every day but can't beat a nice bath every now and again. Time to get out the plastic ducks and lastc model of the Titanic for inbarh entertainment
  5. Looks like a great trip for you and your wife's family and a good mix of places to visit. Look forward to hearing about your adventures.
  6. Yes, it's guest friendly and 24 hour security. I hardly noticed any tour busses when I was there I'm October. That said, apparently there used to ne quite a few prior to Covid. An average of 900 baht per night is still good value. I don't have shares in the place or trying to big it up because I stay there and of course there are better hotels a little further from the action. Its just a case of weighing up what people actually want and how much they want to spend I guess. Personally as I mentioned, I don't spend much awake time in a hotel room. As long as its clean, has tea and coffee and decent aircon etc it does me The rooms have a small balcony and a drying rack which is ideal for washing and drying my soiled underpants each day after a follow through from the night before 😁😁
  7. The doubles are big enough, for me anyway, for the price. I don't spend much time in my room anyway so size doesn't bother me that much and certainly not cramped. If I was permanently with a female partner for my holiday then I would probably look for a hotel with slighty more room space Its all down to.price with many hotels. I beleive that Vogue is the same Chinese ownership as PPlus and some prefer it above PPlus.
  8. I know what you mean about the loud band. I was in B block but A is quieter. I usually get back late. I did here the faint noise but only the bass which wasn't enough to disturb me getting off to sleep. Best to ask them at check in for an A block room. That bar with band is a pain for those nearby and way too loud and unnecessary. Just as is that Trench Town place on Soi LK. Metro, which is a problem for those staying in Metropol Apartments and other nearby accomadation. Totally unnecessary and nearby bars hate it as well. But there don't seem to be any decibel regulations or if there are, they are not enforced. That said, I don't think it's enough to put anyone off PPlus unless perhaps you are an early sleeper or sensitive to noise.
  9. Enjoy. I stay at PPlus these days and it's fine. Clean rooms and a pool plus Gym although I seldom used those.
  10. On a recent flight from Dubai to London, there was a woman on the plane taking a panoramic video of passengers on the plane with her Smart Phone which included myself. Not that I have anything to hide but I viewd it as an invasion of mine and everyone else's privacy. Maybe I should have tackled her but what can you do apart from snatch the phone and stamp on it. These days, people seem to take it for granted because they can. In general,it is polite to ask someone first before taking their picture, especially if they are not immediate friends. Same with some of the vloggers in Pattaya who go around videoing bars full of tourists which then ends up on YouTube or Social media.
  11. Be careful with coffee machines, they are prone to going wrong unless you spend a fortune on one. I have have been there as a drinker of freshly brewed coffee and now gone back to my old faithful cafetiere and a coffee bean grinder which work every time I remember last time I saw you, that you were considering buying a new, state of the art Gimp mask. You might be able to get one in the January Sales if you hurry
  12. Well NYE is over, thank God and I have woken on New Years Day with every intent to resume being the absolute c*nt I have enjoyed being in 2023. 🙂 with the one exception that I intend to be just a little less sedentary in my daily routines, but there is fat chance of that happening anyway I don't see the point of making any resolutions just because of a numerical calender date. Why start doing what you could have done last year and the year before, if you really wanted to, apart from fork out a few quid to buy a new diary.?
  13. I'm glad I checked my passport for online check in. OK this time but I will have to renew it before my next trip as it runs out in late 2024 Tens years goes by by quicker than we think.
  14. I was invited to a NY party, but its about an hour's drive away and so I would have to limit alcohol intake. I think I will give it a miss and just have a wank at home to see in the New Year instead.😁 I don't really celebrate myself, as its a reminder of being a year older That said, I wish all Forum members a happy and prosperous 2024. A great bunch of guys you are and make this Forum a pleasure to be part of.
  15. Slight bit of comprehension adjustmen,in the last paragraph 😁😁
  16. We appear to share the same friends, did you take that photo in your local gay sauna,?😁
  17. How could you resist the rich creamy sauce? 😁😁
  18. Can anyone tell me why EVA flights always take off late from LHR, sometimes more than an hour late? . Talking specifically about BR68 to BKK
  19. 20 days now for me and I have already sourced a lilac coloured mankini to wear at the poolside during the afternoons. The weather is miserable right now in the UK, my bones are aching a I can't wait to absorb the warmer climate, and nights of filth and degradation on the streets of Pattaya. Hotel and Ladycabs now booked.
  20. I have been quite lucky overall but I do recall, many years ago my experience with the one and only time I have flown with Aeroflot to BKk via Moscow When we arrived at Moscow, the connecting flight was seriously delayed. Passengers were giving a meal ticket to be redeemed in some remote part of the airport. Eventually we were sat at tables and some very large ugly women arrived with what was supposed to be lunch. They looked sour faced and miserable as hell They slapped plates on the table containing a small piece of meat, not sure what it was, some cabbage, a potato and a stale tasteless bit of bread I was sitting with a small group of young Danish students who were vegetarians . They were trying to explain that they were vegetarians to the poker faced serving women. Eventually the message got through and a woman came over and removed the meat from their plates 😁😁😁 I must admit.it it was funny as f"ck although the food itself was inedible to start with
  21. I want my 44 baht to the pound like it was on my last visit. Otherwise, I will be drinking Leo on the steps of a 7/11 in January 😁😁😁
  22. It's hard losing a close family member, even though it might be expected. Stay strong and let the bereavement process take its course. You gave her the care and love she deserved and you couldn't have done more. She didn't die alone. I guess I know how you will be feeling right now but it will get better over time and I am sure you will give her the wonderful send off that she deserves. RIP Jan x
