  1. Saw them live in London mid to late 80's. My overriding memory of the night was the look on the security staff's face, several had stopped watching the crowd, and were looking at the stage wondering what on earth the noise was- I think it may have been the pneumatic drills!!!

Done Molinari at 23.0, laid a little off a 2.9 this morning- looking forward to watching the final round.I hope Molinari will do it but my head says Tiger @ 4.9 is the value call.

Off to a flyer- remind me please, who was the French female tennis player you said was a rising star?

Really looking forward to watching the Masters today- relatively new to golf, lots of small interests to spice it up a little😁 Molinari 23.0 , Watson 36.0 , De Chambeau 36.0 (In Egg We Trust), Grace 126.0 , Wallace 176.0, Mitchell 226.0 Last 3 are huge prices, all backed to win and place. Looked at the price history for the last 10 years of this event, this morning, only 2 of the last 10 years have not seen a golfer priced at 3 figures hit the frame( winners at 100.0, 140 & 150.0). 2015 when Spieth won 15.0(still places at 70.0, 90.0 and 70.0 again). Other exception 2010 Mickelson at 14.0 ( one 80.0) place. Of course, this year could be different...but bookies must love this tournament💰💰 Only wish I knew something about golf to pick out the massive priced good things 🙁
  7. It was tremendous TA 👍 New stadium did make us better after all Mr Pep and points to an exciting future. Short-term it will be hard without Kane, they can wheel out De Bruyne, Jesus (now there's a trick) and Sane as subs. Away leg, will be 2-1 to Citeh. Llorente scores with a last minute, 20 yard bullet header to send us through- lump on💰💰💰😲😲

Sorry to hear you can't make your trip. Fascinating selection, love a good form line/trend, 33s in a place, generally 25s, so juicy price too 👍
  10. I enjoy a little planning but increasingly see the sense in finding out chatting to the locals and finding out where's good to go- totally agree with you on this. On my last 2 trips in Nov and Jan this really paid dividends. So many of the reviews on TripAdvisor ,et.al and promotion on social media in no way match the reality. Much better finding out on the ground.
  11. Madness- you're "waiting for the pt.wonder", they are waiting to go bankrupt. Understand their target market is affluent Asians, not eccentric English millionaires but still. Panda has the same target market but will still want to take your cash and won't ignore you. They've attended Business 101 and realised the primary goal is actually to take cash off your customers in return for some sort of service. Why go to the time and effort of an expensive refurb and business set-up? They could just take a few million Baht out and set fire to it- same end result just a hell of lot quicker!
  12. Ed Sweeny's a joke- saw him doing a "review "of one of the Indian hotels on Soi Honey where he claimed to be staying- maybe they gave him a night for free. Did see him having breakfast in Game On and to be fair to him he came across OK, at least he was polite to the staff. He was wearing the old school Singha vest wardrobe, didn't do him any favours as the guy is more hairy than Richard Keys!! I tried out a couple of his recommendations in PP, as quality as his Soi Honey hotel- avoid!!!
  13. Flying home from Thailand today, looking at CL scores on the BBC- what's going on at Madrid🤯
  14. Anyone have an informed opinion on what the monthly running cost of The Secrets forum would be?
  15. That food at the Shangri La does look terrific- really top class, wonderful setting.
  16. Just having this one for research purposes
  17. Subset of the Beer menu, sign out front suggests local bottles are 59 baht
  18. Yes no quibble of the value. Seem to be competing with the Chunky Monkey who a similarly price beef offering at 159, or chicken at 129. I prefer Pitini.
  19. Cafe Pitini 159 baht roast pork special. Veggies where good, pork pretty bland & tasteless. My own fault should have ordered off the regular menu and paid for better quality , some decent looking food was coming out of the kitchen
  20. Fair point, that's a thing of the past now in England, you have my sympathy and thanks for donating the cakes😀
  21. An interesting post and perspective Thai Spice. I wouldn't live anywhere that had religious police , too used to Western freedom- good luck to you though for making it work.
  22. That's fantastic, thanks for posting that👍
  23. 199 Baht Retox Game On, minced beef & onion pie on Saturday special. Spot on and top chips.
  24. They've got a very good selection of bottled beers in the fridge. Place was recommended to me by @Bazle a man of excellent taste👍. Very plush downstairs, loads of tellies could be a good spot to watch a game, though maybe not the Spurs game tonight- don't want to get barred! Will try the Ruby in there at some point, Indian owned and run, so should be decent.
