  1. Well, just read this and not trying to be a "shill" for any one band but....Aerosmith is calling it a career. Good Lord, Steven Tyler has had an incredible run and at age 75, it is time to call it a career. Well done to them. Las Vegas residency back in Sept 2022, wifey loves me for ever now. Yeah I know, "Dream On" huh? LOL! These guys play all the music you want to hear and they play it just the way we all have heard it over 50 years. Playing all the big cities in USA and I surmize into 2024, they will go to Europe and do a farewell there too. https://edition.cnn.com/2023/05/01/entertainment/aerosmith-farewell-tour/index.html
  2. Yeah, fully understand. Love looking back at old pics of good old Thailand. In my next lifetime, I want to be Steph Curry.
  3. Great pics Matt...I find myself doing this alot too LOL!
  4. Good on you Alan, class act buddy, well done. I recently read on line that perhaps 2030, there might be a vaccine for Cancer? God, I hope so....we have to get this horrible disease under control. @Binlid If it will make either of you feel any better, about 2 years ago, back in Calif, one night I was "flossing" just before bed right? Got the bottom molar, the last one way in the back. All of a sudden, this particular "crown" I had put on in 2002, comes flying out of my mouth, bounces off the mirror, and lands in the sink rolling around like that little ball on a "roulette" table in Vegas right? Luckily, my lightning quick reflexes are still good. I grab this thing, call out to wifey and she says "You need to call the Dentist in the morning" It felt absolutely normal, no pain at all etc. Seemed like the "bite down" was normal. Get to the Dentist the next morning, she tells me you are lucky you saved this, I can re-cement it back for you as it is in good shape still. It saved me $1,400 as she only charged $100 to fix it and all is well. She did tell me your teeth will move if you do not fix it....even at 65 years old? Yep.. Ah the hazards of the aging process huh?
  5. Matt, cannot imagine how much water Lake Tahoe will get this spring with the run off. Wish I could take a speed boat out there again, was a blast! Emerald Bay will look great too.....perhaps Mr. Boydeste can fly me out there and we can do some "fishing"? LOL! @boydeste
  6. Dam, even one of the greatest drummers of all time, is not invincible. 1977 Oakland Coliseum Arena. https://www.loudersound.com/news/carl-palmer-sends-fans-message-after-heart-surgery?fbclid=IwAR0V8-yHuBQzOx2vKi-WWF-vloTSNS2dSbF97D8NhlNlPJVWie4VVWOKLWM
  7. Got an e-mail from one of my former gal pals from the coffee scene. Just telling me what is going on in her life, work etc. Setting up a "date" with her when I get back to USA next month for dinner. Rachel is a nice gal.....she is at 1:32 of this video, signing autographs etc. Took this video in SFO at one of the car shows she was working at. My buddy in our Marketing Communications dept edited, and added Motley Crue to the soundtrack for me. I think Steven Spielberg is probably afraid of me LOL!
  8. Yeah big news here for sure, even wifey was " aghast" at this woman. Certainly don't want to go to dinner with her. God, just when you think you have seen everything here!
  9. Well....last night here in the"burbs" of Bangkok, from about 3:00pm-6:00pm, it rained liked cats and dogs. Thunder/Lightning the whole gig......man what a welcome relief it is this morning here at 8:00am local time. Humidity cut in half ( it feels like) and this kind of summer weather here....I can deal with. Geng Mak!
  10. Can you give me a sort of report on Ko Lipe? Have been interested in taking wifey there, that was an option for us, she went with Pattaya. I hear it is about a 3 hour ferry to get there?
  11. Saw an older gentlemen in the parking garage after my work out yesterday, he seemed to be walking kind of sideways holding on to cars as he attempted to get to his. He did not speak any English, I called over to another guy very close to us and he spoke with him. He told the guy that he was currently undergoing "Chemo" treatments?? Jesus he should be no where near outside right now, especially in a parking garage where it must have been 105 degrees at best.
  12. Great Warriors game, can they win 2 on the road though? We'll see. Will be back May 18th in "Man Jose" Might consider going to a playoff game if they are still in it. Talk about price increases? Geez...outrageous how much they want for playoff tickets. The Thai women golfers are good..
  13. I too am heading back to USA for my 50th High School Re-union. Leave May 18th from here....looking forward to getting out of the oppressive humidity....that's for sure. Cannot believe the amount of people going to this. Should be good seeing my old Baseball Buddies from back in the day.
  14. Spot on assessment, your progress is slow and steady buddy. That in and of itself, is a reason to be optimistic the way I see it. Just try to keep calm etc. I know it is easy for me to say, but....just curious is there a Dr. and is there some scientific evidence that can be reached by the Medical community, that can absolutely say for certain that someone does have long Covid? I never really researched that.
  15. Yeah I was wondering at what point the landowners are going to put their foot down and complain that the ATV's are ruining their crops. I did NOT realize how many Pineapple fields are in Chonburi.
  16. Ok, decided to upload a video on You Tube taken by the tour guide in front of us on the ATV adventure. He has a Go Pro....it is probably boring to alot of you, it was ALOT more fun then the video shows. How do I know? Wifey told me LOL! Jesus Christ though, it is so dusty and dirty out there in the wilderness. Wifey looked "dirtier" then a Bar Girl on Soi 6 after we were done 😄 I cannot believe how much land there is out there in Chonburi. I am glad we had a tour guide, no way could I have navigated all that mileage, I would have ended up in Malaysia. The seats are leather, but really hard, thus at the end of the video, my butt felt swollen LOL! I needed a massage. Good experience if you have never done this. Be sure to change the settings to 1080 HD for the best viewing.
  17. Wifey has finally told me, after 51 years in Thailand, minus 3/12 years when we were in USA, this is the hottest it has ever been for a summer. 38C yesterday here, and supposedly 39 today. Anyone of you want to dispute this? Can you remember any summer and what year here it seemed hotter for you personally? Last week in Pattaya, even wifey said how warm the water is there. When driving around town etc, I see these people cooking food on the streets, the city maintenance workers doing projects during the day, and people having to just plain walk in this oppressive humidity where ever it is they are going. It is these times when I feel really lucky NOT to have to do any of these things you know? Respect to the people who have to endure this............seriously. And....alot of these people are not spring chickens by any means, as in, even older then me LOL!
  18. 4.3 miles? Pretty impressive, even early in the morning in this oppressive humidity. Well done.
  19. Which brings me to the party, anyway since you are a mod, can we get the IT guys here to work on increasing the ability to post videos. I take alot and have some good ones, but cannot upload either. I could post on You Tube, then put up here but......got a good one the ATV adventure in Pattaya last week, but too big for here. @Binlid Nice report and pics, looks great in Ao Nang. Will get back there soon....just not in April. I ooze sweat like you too..it's brutal.
  20. Just looking at a pic of my "gal pals" from the gym yesterday. These gals are so cool. Just a real pleasure to talk with and trade stories with. Believe me when I tell you, these gals are all in great shape. These were the first gals that talk to me when I joined last Oct.
  21. Thanks alot for that, would love to be there one time when it is REALLY gushing. Waterfalls up close are always cool.
  22. Thanks Cliff....just glad that the Cigarette dude did not burn a hole in that shirt. He would not want to deal with her afterwards believe me. That cost me 150 baht at the open market here in Minburi LOL! Outstanding, glad to see I am not alone with a "noob wife" Of course, I will now going forward be given the "stink eye" when telling her I will spend 2 nights with friends when they come to Bangkok LOL! You are much too kind...she works out 6 days per week. Respect for trying to stay in shape right? You know, when you post some pictures of the runs you go on in that area, I was thinking that this might be certainly in the area. Much respect to you and the others who do this. It is dusty and humid beyond belief out there. Yeah the guy told us "Ok I am going to take you to an area where there is a waterfall" We get there and I look up and wonder "Where's the water"? He then tells wifey in Thai...apparently only during rainy season the waterfall is in full swing. Amazing Thailand huh? LOL! Thanks Stu.....never a dull moment in Pattaya................still.
  23. First let me say, that I realize that looking at pics of Pattaya, can be redundant. We have all seen alot of these same pics over and over again for many years. I tried to think “outside the box” a bit here, got to go on an ATV adventure, so hopefully that should mix it up a bit. I am sure many of you also know, that alot of the pics I would like to take, you just can’t do sadly these days, security will not let you at all, like at Insomnia. Did some wifey things, like Nong Nooch Gardens and visited a few temples to see the monks and she brought them gift baskets etc. Won’t bore you with those pics. With that said, I took her for her B-Day here for 5 nights. Usually I would just book a trip for us and surprise her you know? Decided to get her input back in Feb. I asked her “So, for your B-Day how about we go to Koh Lipe, Ko Phi Phi/Phuket, Ko Chang, Krabi”? She looks at me and says “Why don’t we just go to Pattaya”? Whoa…was not expecting that, after being in Hua Hin in Feb. I practically broke my ankle getting up to my “man cave” to look at hotels LOL! She saved me 10k baht on airfare you know? So, looked at Dusit Thani, Avani, Centara Grand Mirage, Hilton etc. Found this hotel that was relatively new called “Arbour Residence” looked at alot of reviews on various web-sites, seems to be getting great reviews and took a chance and booked it. Nice place on 3rd road, 15 minute walk to the beach, 20 minute taxi to Walking Street at night. Breakfast buffet is included in the price and on the 24th floor a rooftop pool, bar and very nice view of Pattaya. Got a standard King Room, very comfortable bed. So we hit a few places over our time there. B-Day night we went to “King Seafood” was very good eating right on the water in the back. After, we hit “I Bar” where we got there after dinner about 8:30pm. Well….alot of complaints these days about “prices” I have to say I Bar happy hour from 8:00pm-10:00pm is not to be missed. 49 baht for my favorite, Sangsom and Coke, and wifey is throwing down Heinekens. Again, out back by the water was nice. Not too crowded yet as it was Monday night. About 10:00pm, it is picking up and these drunk Aussies come in with their Thai Birds right? One guy accidentally bumps into me, says “Oh sorry mate” I tell him “No problem” he smiles and sits down next to us. Next round comes, and the waitress tells us he bought these for us. OK cool…..he leans over and asks me “Mate, just have to ask you, anyone ever tell you, you look like Joe Biden”? I told him “No, but my wife has told me after she is pissed off at me, that I look like Charlie Manson” LOL! Cool guys and the girls they were with, were quite fine. Next stop, Insomnia. So up the stairs there, security tells me “No pictures with the camera OK”? I told him “Kao Jai Krap” All good. Get in there towards the back and man this place is “heaving” with women….I mean alot. Got a table next to where the Insomnia dancer girls are taking rotations, some nice looking women dancing there. I had not been here for at least 7 years I am pretty sure. The lasers, thumping music, the vibe pretty good for a Monday night. So…at this point wifey is felling pretty good I can tell. She is NOT a drinker by any means, even beer. But this night, she is Courtney Love LOL! She asks me “Can I hab Corona now”? I told her you should not start mixing beers together, you should stick with Heineken. Well…..you know how that goes right? Ok..so this place is in full swing now. A quick trip to the bathroom, stop by the DJ booth, he comes down, I tell him it is wifey’s B-day and could he give her a shout out and perhaps play some “80’s funk music” He was totally cool, spoke perfect English and understood everything. I gave him a 200 baht tip. 10 minutes later his voice comes on and says “Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a birthday girl in the house tonite, give it up for Rachanee” and one of his associates brings over this huge flashlight and shines it on us….cool. Several Thai Birds come over to her, you know the gig, all hugs and love! He then launches into “Love Roller Coaster” by The Ohio Players. She looks at me and says “Can I go up dere”? Jesus Christ, I didn’t even get a chance to answer and she is on this small stage with 2 other Thai Birds letting it fly….I didn't know she could dance like that……good lord! Next up is “No Parking On The Dance Floor” and “Play That Funky Music White Boy” So after she comes down, I can really tell she is buzzed now, she asks me “Can I hab anudder Ka Rona”? Ok…this is not going to end well, but it is her night. So, one of the Insomnia dancers come over to her, who knows what they were saying to each other. She was fine looking, it was OK by me, but I suspect something is in the works right? I was right, she asks me “Can you buy her dlink”? Yeah Ok…200 baht for the LD. So this girl tells me her name is “Pim/Pom” or something like that. Speaks good English, thanks me for the “dlink” and tells me she gets 75 baht for this. Wifey heads over to the bathroom, so I am feeling pretty good myself, so I ask her “Are you able to bar fine from here and can you go with customers”? She said “Yes, but I cannot go until at least 12:30am” Ok so I asked her “How much for ST/LT”? She tells me “3k ST, 6k LT” Ok…So wifey comes back, we stay another hour and get out of there at 1:00am. Get the taxi back to the hotel, shower up and time for bed. 6:00am she is poking me in the side and tells me “I hab headache” Well, well, well, what a shocker huh? I told her "That is why I am the husband, and you are the wife” LOL! They never listen…do they? Two 500MG Tylenol and a glass of water and 4 hours later she is better. So over the next few days, did all the basic things. Hit the beach, stayed at the hotel by the pool, had dinner at Hard Rock Cafe, that was interesting. Got a table right next to the railing, where we heard this commotion and leaned over and saw a guy puking right there on the sidewalk….nice. Stayed at Hard Rock the entire night and drank in the bar. Decided to take a flyer and take an ATV adventure. That was good, this company picks you up at your hotel. 2 hour ride, lot’s of choices. Had 3 really cute Thai girls with us in the van. They had game, each one took the 2 wheel ATV. We took the 2 seat dune buggy. So…after an hour out in the mountains, and god knows where else, the 2 guides tell us that we can now branch out and for those that want to, we can “upgrade” for the last hour and take it up a notch. We did that and that was a blast! Full pedal to the medal and the girls went on the cruiser route with the other guide. Wifey was screaming, her head was bouncing around….felt like our wedding night LOL! She wanted to hit one of the “Go Go’s” one night after dinner on Walking Street.I know no one is going to believe this, she has NEVER been in a Go Go here in Thailand. We did, hit Baccara. God I love this woman to death, but she is so naive at times. Get in there, we get seated, they’re just changing girls and 12-15 new ones come on right? Few minutes later, about 4 of them right in front of us drop their tops…..it was quite nice. She looks over at me and says “Oh my god, they let the girls do like this”? I was hoping one would come over to us and sit next to me topless and ask me to buy her an LD?? Didn’t happen……as Metallica once said “Sad……………………..But True” Pattaya still fun after all these years.
  24. Last night in Pattaya, wifey still in bed at 9:20am here. No water splashed on Walking Street at all. Was wondering about that. The only thing I had to worry about was the Cigarette Magician.....I kept a close eye on him, wanted to make sure he didn't try to "cop a feel" from wifey you know? Boy, would he have been disappointed! She was not happy that I made her do this. I told her, If you love your "Sami" you will do this for me so I can take pictures. Who needs Dr. Phil? Also if he burned a hole in her AC/DC shirt.....it cost me 150 baht....it would not have ended well for him LOL! Had a great time here for sure.....Pattaya still fun after all these years. Back to the hood in a few hours.
  25. Well...very few water guns around from what I have seen the last few days. Very little down the Soi's, a few on Beach Rd last night as we took the taxi down there. Took wifey on an ATV adventure yesterday......got the 2 seater dune buggy. The last hour of this tour, the guy stepped it up. We were really getting it on. Wifey was screaming, her head was bouncing around all over the place....have not seen her like that since our wedding night LOL! Pull into the place, look over at one of the posters and well...guess who? Last night of the tour tonite. Got some great stories to tell.
