  1. Man, there's some real stinkers in here. For you rock and roll fans, you might know of a sub genre called "emo". It is my shame. Stick it out until 1:55 for the change. It's masterful. <sob>
  2. The first question is "are you logged on, or not" logged on not logged on ?????
  3. If, by "taking responsibility", you mean lifted leg, fist pump, crotch thrusts, and a victory lap with vigorous wafting in all directions..... then yes, I take responsibility.
  4. Yeah, it is. Gotta work till I'm dead anyway (young wife), so it doesn't really matter to me.
  5. That's why I'm asking. Where I work, it accrues the previous year, and is awarded the following year, so quitting on 31 Dec screws you out of your vacation payout.
  6. Congratulations on being able to retire in a fashion that suits you. Its an accomplishment. Why not work until Jan 1st (or 31st, as the case may be) and get the following years vacation, sick day, etc..?
  7. Yeah, but my opinion has changed. That juicy dividend is in danger. Chevron is the better buy in my opinion
  8. I have been warned and had posts deleted for merely mentioning another poster, and you're allowed to get away with this?
  9. https://www.yahoo.com/news/costliest-government-coverup-time-growing-120056563.html U.S. intelligence has “increasing confidence” that the novel Wuhan coronavirus outbreak began in a lab that was researching bat-coronaviruses, contrary to China’s claim that the pandemic emerged from a Wuhan wet market, according to multiple sources that briefed Fox News. The sources told Fox News that the initial transmission of the virus looks to be bat-to-human, and that “patient zero” contracted the disease while working at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, before going into the general population. While the lab is China’s first to achieve the highest level of international bio-research safety, known as BSL-4, its work with bats had been conducted at the lower protection level of BSL-2. Senator Tom Cotton (R., Ark.) first warned that the origins of the coronavirus were unknown, citing a Chinese study which found that the first documented coronavirus case in Wuhan had no connection to the market, but was vilified by U.S. media outlets for suggesting the virus could have come from the lab. Democrats have been largely dismissive of claims of Chinese duplicity, instead focusing criticism on the Trump administration’s response. “The reason that we are in the crisis that we are today is not because of anything that China did, not because of anything the WHO did, it’s because of what this president did,” Senator Chris Murphy (D., Conn.) said Tuesday.
  10. We'll see. Never underestimate the power of the Emotional Appeal. These people have been driving our politics for decades now.
  11. The previous post by simon triggered a thought.... He said "I firmly believe that the only way to beat this virus is to stay at home & have as little contact with other people as possible", and he's hardly alone in thinking that. The thought triggered was drawing a parallel between the extremes we're going to in protecting a small minority from this virus, and the extreme "end of life" measures taken in Western healthcare fighting a costly losing battle with the extremely sick. At some point, all of this will have to be re-evaluated. And it will be ugly.
  12. Gotta have balls of steel to buy anything travel related right now. UAL is down by 2/3. YIKES
