  1. I do a lot of my lifts with just a standard bench bar (I think they are typically 45 pounds, if i remember correctly). Including curls. Then mix in dumb bell single curls while sitting on a bench (elbow on knee), isolating the bicep (drop the weight on the floor at point of exhaustion). Form, and balance, and timing (rest between sets) are key for maximizing. Along with focus, and proper safe technique. Also... limit distractions whenever possible. I've never used a work out partner (IMO can be very detrimental and even hazardous). Lifting can be meditation if approached the right way.
  2. Yogurt, yogurt, yogurt. It's a wonderful thing.
  3. Excercise is the key, and lots of it. Along with cutting down booze intake. 4 beers 5 days a week = >< 3,000 calories,
  4. Joe Walsh......... Man, I love this guy. This is my fav. guitar work of his, incredible. Combined with a brilliant song perfectly produced. I've posted this song before in here, more than once. But it never gets tiresome for me and touches deeply every time. This song helped me get through the early period of covid. Contributed strength to the belief that no matter how bleak and sad life can sometimes be there will always be the beauty of music and song. "Somebody like you"
  5. That is some serious bar fine cabbage for a kid that age !
  6. This one helped distract me for a few moments....
  7. Catching up on the news about the Maine shooting. ---------------------------------- Seems like it has been a while. Each incident takes another chunk out of my soul. Sometimes feel hollowed out. Insanity has always existed, but it seems to have become the dominating force in the World. Difficult to comprehend the horror and collective pain brought upon the communities/individuals who are victims, their friends families associates, witnesses, responders, heck.... everyone.
  8. You will sleep good, but wake up with a boner and nowhere to put it.
  9. Getting my flu next week. Had # 5 covid bump a week or so ago.
  10. I have bought my own mattresses before when staying in some small condos in the past. When in a small condo you spend much of your time propped up on the bed and with a soft mattress it can really do a number on your back. Besides it's nice to have a fresh (not cum stained) mattress. I still have the last one I purchased, 4000 baht. I moved it from the last condo I lived in and now have it in my house.
  11. Another "pimped up" tuna delight. This time added a head of brocoli. Doesn't look like much, but it was damn tasty. I will get about four meals out of the batch. I guestimate about $.70 per meal.
  12. When I was a kid I would eat pumpkin pie, usually on Thanksgiving. I never got very excited about it. As an adult I really like it, but covered with some whipped cream for sure. Over the years pumpkin has become more common in the American diet, particularly soup which became rather common. Very tasty, and very healthy. My favorite was carving pumkins for Halloween. Srapping out the seeds and separating them. Mom would then soak them in water. After a good soaking, dry them out, spread them on a large flat pan and brake them in butter/salt. Friggen wonderful treat ! In the later years we tierd of the carving traditions. Me and the guys turned into pumpkin delinquents. Grabbing them off porches and lofting them into the pavements(hence, smashing pumpkins). It was great fun, but absolute stupidity.
  13. I recall at LEAST a half dozen of those types of shootings over the years. Back in the States they have a tendency to shoot themselves. Over here they shoot each other.
  14. Nice to see you back on the shores mate. You must pack a 10 pound bag of spuds when you go.
  15. I'd be on the floor mate. We used to drink that for a spell in college. Nasty stuff.
  16. Wise choice. Departure, slow and natural... maybe after they've gotten their first beer in them. 55555 !
