  1. I'll grant he's providing useful info for those considering flying on Thai Air, but for fck's sake, if I'm sitting on a plane the last thing I want is some random guy recording me without permission. I wish he and other vloggers would have at least a modicum of common decency and courtesy not to record others.
  2. Hope it goes to a proper recycler. Quite often I see the burnt out remains of pile of wire like that on the jungle trails we run. They burn off the insulation to get at the wire which leaves a toxic, unsightly mess behind on an otherwise beautiful jungle trail.
  3. I was thinking the same. Basically a billboard advertisement disguised as a city sign.
  4. Found references to the series by using Google search on the full title. Both episodes available on YT. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt12437670/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0
  5. I've been riding for decades and never once gave a thought to insurance, or heard anyone else I ride with discuss the need for insurance. Probably for the reason that accidents that happen on a bike rarely involve injury to someone else, and any property damage that might occur would be the responsibility of the doofus that pulled out in front of someone on a bike. The greatest risk of liability would be hitting someone walking. But if you're a responsible rider, the chances of that happening approach nil. A stronger case could be made for theft insurance, but then a homeowner's or rental policy would suffice.
  6. Something that just occurred to me. Why would they put up a sign directing you to a hospital 1.2km away when Pattaya Memorial is only 200m farther down Klang? Amazing Thailand.
  7. Walking the dogs this morning the smell of smoke was heavy on the air. After the walk was kind of surprised to see the AQI is only at a moderate level, thought it would be in the high range based on the smell.
  8. Pretty soon they'll etch your name into your favorite table.
  9. For the guy that was crossing Klang this morning and was looking up at the very much red pedestrian crossing light wondering why he almost got hit by cars ignoring the light, this is reason #69 why you should never trust crosswalks and crossing lights here... That particular light, which I didn't even know was there until the guy looked up in befuddlement, is blocked from view for eastbound traffic by the City Hospital sign. It only comes into view when you're almost to the crosswalk, but by then most drivers, if they're not looking at their phone, are watching for traffic coming out of and into Buakhao. The crosswalk at the bottom of Klang has a similar problem. Traffic turning off Beach Rd onto Klang probably never notice there's a crosswalk light, let alone what color it is when they're making the turn.
  10. Big one used to be behind the beer bars on Arunotai, now razed. And then there's the alley nicknamed Soi Casino off of Buakhao... wonder how the alley came by that name.
  11. It's only a matter of time before Thailand legalizes casinos. The money to be raked in is too tempting for the politicians to pass up. Question is when and where will be the first one? My guess, Pattaya sometime in the next five years. House paves way for first Thai casino The House of Representatives on Thursday approved a full report of the proposal to set up a casino-entertainment zone in Thailand following a three-hour meeting to discuss the matter. The report was prepared by a special committee set up in December 2021, following a 310 to nine House vote in favour of weighing up the economic value an entertainment complex, with a casino to attract foreign visitors, could have on the economy against potential issues that might arise. ... He said the report merely explored the possibility as a source of income for the country, and if casinos were to be developed, the positive and negative impacts must be thoroughly assessed. "A decision on the casino-entertainment complex project is likely to be made by the next government. It can't happen within two or three years and most importantly public hearings and even a referendum among locals must be organised," said Mr Pakornwut. ... According to the report, Bangkok, together with the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) and areas within a 100-kilometre radius of Suvarnabhumi and U-Tapao airports, would be suitable hosts for a casino complex. ...
  12. Anyone want to bet against the DDC having to eat their words. Chinese don't pose Covid threat: DDC The arrival of more Chinese tourists in Thailand is unlikely to trigger a spike in the number of new Covid-19 infections, says the Department of Disease Control (DDC). The department said it plans to assess the situation regarding coronavirus infections in two weeks' time. ...
  13. Had a look at their FB page and see there's another b'day party tomorrow. http s://www.facebook.com/passionpattaya
  14. Probably a change in surface and upper level wind direction. Could also be the remnants of a nighttime inversion layer. Probably the later as with the increasing day time temp the inversion layer has dissipated and AQI is dropping.
  15. Newbie luck more than anything, but settled on qBittorrent as a client many years ago when I first started using torrents for my entertainment source. Never had a problem with the software, knock on wood.
  16. That didn't take long. Officials are already backtracking from a poorly thought out vaccine requirement. Update: Thailand’s Civil Aviation Authority Tells Airlines Unvaccinated/Travelers Without Vaccine Documentation Can Fly But Must Test on Arrival
  17. PR article on the Rezum treatment. Should you get Rezum treatment for BPH in Thailand?
  18. Quite a few of my friends have funny nicknames as most of them are in the Hash House Harriers. Here's just a few: Vietnamese Violator Mount Me Sperm Polluter (we named a local reservoir after him - link) IHOP (he lost a leg in a climbing accident) No More Cum AnySex Dot Com Sip Baht (one of our regular baht bus drivers to run sites)
  19. It's just crazy they have the vaccine requirement in place at all. The 2nd of my two jabs took place in Nov 2021 and by now whatever protection it offered has waned, not to mention it wouldn't be effective against any of the latest variants. So what are they hoping to accomplish other than the usual govt nonsense of do something just for the sake of looking like they're doing something whether it makes sense or not. I expect any day now to see them washing the streets again to get rid of the virus. Sheer lunacy I tell ya.
  20. The last sentence in the article is the early favorite for understatement of the year award. As history shows, Pattaya has always had a casual relationship with deadlines and schedules.
  21. Thanks. Probably why there is no torrent upload, nor an IMDB entry for that episode.
