  1. Just tried the site and it opened up just fine for me. https://www.tmd.go.th/ Here's my go to site for Thai weather. https://weather.com/weather/today/l/THXX0015:1:TH
  2. Yep, uaan. I don't take offense as it's hard to get upset when someone speaks the truth. And the truth is I'm up about 10k over the past three years. My daily bike rides are not enough to burn off the calories from drinking. Back OT, right now I'm quite pleased to read the following email that just hit my inbox.
  3. Even though I don't need the living expense money now, I've been transferring money with every 1 point increase beginning at 36. Enjoying the great exchange while it lasts. It also reduces the hurt of seeing my investment portfolio under water.
  4. Current Wise rate. Just too good to pass up so transferred another bucket of money over.
  5. I like the responses you're getting better than the ones I get from those who haven't seen me in a couple of years. First thing out their mouths when they see me is "What happened, you're fat now".
  6. This is going to cost the contractor a lot more than the two business signs they previously knocked down. Fire alarms tourists in Pattaya after excavator gets entangled with wires Many people witnessed a fire that caught on cable wires on Soi Buakhao 15 in Pattaya around 3 PM today, October 19th. The flames broke out after an excavator that was working on a drainage project on Soi Buakhao 15 got its arm entangled with the wires above it by accident, an eyewitness told The Pattaya News. Tourists and residents fled the scene immediately, and there are no reports of injuries so far after the fire was put out by Pattaya firefighters. However, five cars that were parked near the fire were damaged including a black Toyota Yaris, a white Honda HRV, a bronze Toyota Yaris, a black Toyota Altis, and a white Honda Civic. About 200 meters of incinerated communication wires were left at the scene, pending an investigation from Pattaya relevant officials. Many businesses and homes also have no power as of press time.
  7. The green tracked excavator you see at the 00:30 mark is undoubtedly the culprit that started the fire. It was working to push construction barriers into the ground prior to excavating and probably hit the utility lines and power box shorting out the mess and starting the electrical fire. The same excavator was also responsible for accidently knocking down a couple of overhead business signs over the last several months too. Had a good chuckle to at the Thai worker that was rushing to put out the fire with a small pail of water (04:29). And the fire dept that is only about 200m away sure took their sweet time getting to the fire.
  8. Looking at FB they're still open and looks like another place selling weed. Hope they restrict the smoking to the outside area as I can't see how smelling weed burning while eating would be conducive to the long time survival of a restaurant. https://www.facebook.com/murphysirishpubpattaya
  9. Pro-wakeskater gets fine & suspended jail term for surfing in Bangkok floods
  10. Tom Scott's YT channel has a quite a few interesting videos. This one came up in my recommended list and caught my eye as it has 59million+ views. He explains the API he used to update the YT title that keeps people repeatedly coming back to see if the code is still working, thus the high view count. He then goes into a very good description of how and why platforms and code will eventually break and brings it all together at the end of the vid as a lesson in life and that there's no escaping entropy. Deep thinking, but as a coder and database guy I can relate.
  11. Suspect the effects of a cyclone and tropical depressions passing through our area. Edited to add: By area I mean SEA. Limited impacts expected on Thailand from three tropical depressions and a cyclone
  12. Sure hope we don't see Ukraine added to this map. Map Visualisation Shows Every Nuclear Detonation Since 1945
  13. One door closes, another one opens. Good to hear Moulie has found a place at Milk.
  14. Some good vocals. And the background eye candy is easy on the eyes too.
  15. The Dollhouse Darkside had their grand opening party last night. Debated whether to put it on the Darkside Bar Map, but as they advertise as a GC, and because I believe there will probably be more business owners that see an opportunity for GC's on the darkside decided to add it to the GC map. List of Pattaya gentlemen clubs and misc BJ/ST places currently included on the above map. There is also a separate tab that has a history of the updates to the map. If you know of new/renamed or closed bars, let me know so I can update the maps. If you can provide the GPS location and a pic, even better.
  16. Links worked for me when I used incognito mode in Chrome. It displays a log in message at the bottom of the screen, but can still view posts and see photos.
  17. Finished reading Infinite and thought it was a good read. Now reading Others and finding it a good read as well. Nice thing about series is I don't have to give much thought to what I'm going to read next, as long as the writing remains as good in subsequent books.
  18. Saw the following pics on the FB page for Pattaya's mayor (link). The drains pictured are at the intersection of 3rd Rd and Klang. With that much debris accumulated in the drains it's no surprise the flooding continues.
  19. That's what I tell my lady when I send her naked photos of me.
  20. Back a bit late from my morning bike ride as I got lured into a massage on my way home. But not before I remembered to snap a pic of your favorite gorilla. The rock he's on is about 50cm high and I estimate the gorilla's height at around 140cm. Now if there was a different part of his anatomy you were going to checkout the size of, I'll leave that to you.
  21. I stopped in at the new Boss Corner Bar on the corner of Soi 13 and Buakhao last night. I was hoping it would be another good place to sit with a drink and watch the world go by. While it is a good location, my SangSom and soda at 65B was pretty steep for a beer bar. Leo at 90B is also priced too high considering they're on the CC end of Buakhao. They were also pushy to have a lady sit with me. When I told the third one that approached me in the space of 5 minutes I prefer to sit alone she copped a bit of an attitude asking why I don't want a lady. Told her I'm the customer so up to me, and if she's not happy with that I can leave right now. Fortunately that was enough to shut down the LD hustle and I enjoyed the rest of my drink with no more interruptions. After I finished my drink at Corner Bar I went one soi farther south to Zero Bar's new location on Soi 19 and Buakhao. Staff are friendly without being pushy. That combined with reasonably priced drinks have made it my go to bar for early evening drinks and people watching.
