  1. Well spotted, a very disturbing development....
  2. Very interesting map. I've been checking on google and cannot find any errors. Soccer/rugby in Wales are very close for the most popular sport position
  3. Gammon with fried egg on top looks great, better than pineapple
  4. Cheat the hangman (electric chair/syringe/bullet) by bursting yourself to death.
  5. I don't recall the body being as long as that, or the eyes as red. But the tiny crustacian features are there. They have a hell of a grip. Wonder how they get there, possibly by leaping up to underwear hanging on the washing line.
  6. My first overseas posting was in West Africa, i was 23 at the time and i was on an 11 month on 1 month off leave cycle. Finally my leave came, but on the flight home and even more so on the train across the Pennines i started to feel itchiness in my pubic area. I got to my mother's house, which was out in the countryside, and after quick greetings rushed to the toilet to investigate the itch. In those days there was no google, in fact no internet, but it didn't take much to work out there were tiny mites down there and they held on tight. I could use 2 thumbnails to prise out the things - they looked like minature crabs. I had no idea whether i had to go to a pharmacy or a doctor and it was evening now - nothing i could do. One of my biggest worries was what type of mishap could possibly cause me to pass the crabs on to my mum. Later we were watching tv when my stepfather says "oh Sam you're still scratching, got a few fleas left" (Sam's the dog). After a bit of subtle questioning i find out the dog had fleas and there is medicated shampoo in the house. Late at night i searched the house and found the Bob Martin dog shampoo and sneaked into a shower. 3 showers later i felt great. It worked. The crabs were gone, the dog just had enough shampoo left to finish his fleas off and mum didn't report any itchiness at all for my whole holiday.
  7. Bit of a disappointment. When i saw the thread i wanted to join in with my favourite crabs story. But now after reading the post my story just doesn't seem appropriate.

  9. Looks great, might have to get the bread knife out again for another couple of slices
  10. That photo posted by Boydeste has a rather poor looking head for Guiness, which for me isn't typical, so i do think your comparison isn't fair. Having said that I've never tried Leffe Brown so can't comment - I'll keep my eyes open for it. I do sometimes have a pint of Black Cab at a nearby pub, but i would choose Guiness if available.
  11. Looks good. In Pattaya i recommend this pizza place https://g.co/kgs/UqwjKn
  12. In years gone by my holidays in Pattaya were full on 7 or 14 day binges of beer, girls and nitelife. Used to have a great time and feel stress relieved and normalized at the end - ready for another 4 months work. The first sign of a crack in the routine was my body rejecting more that 4 or 5 days of heavy drinking, i used to wake up with aches and a depression. The end of the holiday was spoilt by an ever increasing recovery period. I think the key is something rather elusive, a hobby. The only criteria being that it doesn't involve drinking. Could be an activity, perhaps a gentle sport, reading at the beach, learning Thai, or an evening oil massage. It's got to be enjoyable and, for me, interupt the drinking to have a later start or even a missed day.
  13. I agree midnight is a reasonable time to arrive home, stagger home in fact on days gone by. Once the midnight deadline had somehow dragged on to 3a.m so i very quietly got into the house and switched on the tv to a channel that had closed for the night, just a buzzing sound and the usual snowstorm picture. Then i lay down on the sofa, rolled off and fell on the floor with a bang. I had to get back up and roll off another 3 times before finally my GF appeared and I could announce "got home at 11.45 but fell asleep in front of the tv"
  14. Yes. Another one to watch for is a trace of massage oil between the toes.
  15. There are 2 different conditions here, scum or scale. My point about powdered cleaning bleach is for a scum line (which i expect is the more common - my knowledge on the subject is from large public swimming pools). The discoulered waterline due to scum is just from body oil, sunscreen and general dirt floating on the pool that makes it's way to the edge forming a line. This greasy line then attracts more dirt which becomes a dirty line that needs cleaning. As the pool already has chlorine in it to disinfect the water the addition of some more chlorine as a powder cleaning bleach applied by a stiff plastic scrubbing brush will do no harm at all. A calcium scale is a bit more of a problem and better covered by others here. But in the longterm regular checking of the chemical levels/Ph of the pool are needed.
  16. I suggest a powder cleaning bleach applied with a stiff brush. Around the waterline you can be in the pool at the time.
  17. Best to take a couple of days off, not that i always follow my own great advice. Histamines are found in food and drinks. Wine and beer for example tend to be high in histamines. So i guess taking antihistamines while glugging histamines might not be best for the dizzy.
