  1. I hope they do too, but if English football is to gain in credibility they'll need to have more than the 3 English players in their starting line ups that Spurs and Liverpool had the past two nights. The leagues are strong due to the UK being a rich nation and Sky Sports etc exploiting that.
  2. Far from the best I've eaten, but it filled a hole and that's what was needed.
  3. Tilac just served up this but I couldn't work out what it was. Any ideas?
  4. Are you allowed to threadf*** your own thread? 😉 Post a pic of your breakfast/lunch/dinner
  5. I would never have got it without Stillearly's post but I'd read the BBC article and it clicked.
  6. I though I posted this yesterday - must have missed the button - but Archie Leitch designed the stand at Ewood Park, among many others. There was an article about him on the BBC News website a few days ago. https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-scotland-48028660
  7. The guy who scored the winning goal in 1967 passed away today too. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/48091417
  8. None of them show the inventor of the ironing board.
  9. If you bought an "off the shelf" laptop, it will probably prompt you to transfer stuff on first power up, and walk you through the process as it's done over wifi.
  10. Restore them from your back up to your new laptop. Or if you're planning on throwing out the old laptop, take out the hard drive first, mount it in a caddy and connect it to the new computer. Once transferred you also have a spare external drive.

Here's a salad of mine from a while back. Note it doesn't have any of the muck from the OP in it, although I would say beetroot is acceptable.
  12. They've been hijacked by big business for advertising nowadays. I'm afraid a flashmob for British Airways or Nivea isn't going to create a "feel good" reaction.
  13. Les Reed, who wrote Delilah and It's Not Unusual with Tom Jones, and The Last Waltz with Engelbert. https://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-47948530
  14. Was there a few months ago and in the Red Parrot most nights - stayed round the corner in The Offshore. The mate I was with is there now avoiding Songkran. We got the bus down as bad weather was forecast but the ferry back up on our way back to Thailand.
  15. I know it's just garnish and puts a bit of colour on the plate, but lettuce and tomato has no rightful place there.
  16. See if you can find this place. Under 200 baht for 4 hours drinking with a good few choices of draught beer. A nice place with nice host too.
  17. Saw this getting put up while I was eating earlier today but Google disagrees with what my tilac said at the time. Any other translation welcomed.
  18. I had chicken supreme and roasties too but they were help yourself from the buffet so the presentation skills didn't match up. Here's the view though.
  19. Not up to fatbhoytim's presentation skills above, but here's a couple from The Emirates Lounge in Glasgow the other day. Haggis, neeps and tatties and a chocolate something dessert.
  20. I was there for the first time a few weeks ago and loved the fact the ferries, along with the trains, you could use as much as you want each day knowing there was a ceiling on the overall cost no matter how much you travelled. Loved the Pyrmont Bridge Hotel as well for a drink or ten.
  21. Just had a haircut. Last bit of packing before an early start to the airport tomorrow.
