  1. I have always managed to find it in most places I have worked. I worked in Japan for 6 months and had great difficulty buying food for the room (eating out was easy!) so I found a place that sold frozen sprouts and I'd drink wine and eat sprouts in my room watching Japanese TV. I sure know how to live the high life!!
  2. There was a time before Covid that this was available in 7/11s !! 750 Baht perhaps ??
  3. Sorry for jumping in on your thread but does anybody know if Nirun or that part of Arunothai floods badly ???
  4. Not fair!!!! I was outside checking the water level. I guess Nirun too !!!
  5. Yes mate, it isn't as bad as before but more sustained. As I have been typing somebody has started the water pump gene for the storm drain and culverts. Time to take a look......
  6. It was raining when I woke up at 5am so I cancelled my morning walk and decided to do something useful and syphon off 3 homebrews. I think I "accidentally" swallowed too much and am a wee bit tipsy now at 8am !!
  7. That looks bloody excellent mate. But when it comes to baked beans I think Oyster Bay Chardonnay is a better pairing !!
  8. Looks more like the contents of her incontinence pants.
  9. Very well said. I used to leave Elland Road emotionally and physically drained whether win, lose or draw. There is nothing like it!!!
  10. With the broadness of the thread title, my interpretation is that it can be about anything. Would you like to share any special prices for any special services? Do you have a go to place for enemas and anal cavity probe? Just asking on behalf of a friend because he is a little tied up at the moment!
  11. Part of the 600 baht was "transport costs". He borrowed a mates food cart. Afterwards he filled it up with gasoline and bought him a bottle of seesip degree. How much is it to fill a "motorcy" tank in UK?
  12. I was thinking about this thread whilst out on my morning walk. Yesterday my mate built a 5m length low wall, 2 door steps and repaired a couple of "holes" in my tiled patio for me. He worked from 8am to 5 pm and did a damn good job. Materials (25 breeze blocks, 20 small red bricks. at least a bag of cement and a bag of sand etc etc) 600 baht. Labour was 300 Baht + as much homebrew as he wanted after work was completed. 900 baht = 20 quid. How much would this have cost in Sunny UK?
  13. Yep. I buy their English Cheddar cheese from https://expatfoodsthailand.com/shop/ but didn't spot any Gruyere which is why I responded to your post. My question was only for the purposes of bonhomie and information sharing which is what I think the gist of the thread is about.
  14. As a matter of interest and comparison .How much is their Gruyere?
  15. I was tempted on another board to start a similar thread so everyone can share special offers. Thanks for starting this one. - Friendship has buy one get one free on Tipco red grape juice which makes it 30 baht a litre. - Expatfoods have recently expired hash browns @ 20 baht a kilo. 5 of them Bunged in the microwave, with garlic and a handful of frozen mixed veggie makes fantastic mashed potato with a knob of butter added!
  16. Quite pleased with that. I only dropped one place with a minus eight gameweek ... and I've made no drunken transfers so far this week!!!
  17. There is definitely a resemblance to a condo on Soi 16..but I'm going for Park Beach.
  18. My Dad and uncles served in Malta between the North Africa campaign and the invasion of Italy. They often said that they lost their "toothbrushes" in Malta. I have no idea if they lost them at the same time or in the same "place". Any photos of WW2 would be much appreciated. Maybe I'll spot my Dad...and perhaps the person that stole his toothbrush!
  19. I know that no injuries have been reported but I hope that no homeless families had found their way in there for shelter. It strikes me with fear just thinking about it.
  20. Every ex-soldier will remember Sunday afternoons ironing uniform ready for Monday morning muster parade - I sometimes have nightmares about it !!!
  21. A couple of years ago during the construction phase I visited Coco Fitness "for a friend". Access was by a service lift to the right of the picture. After finding a few things out about short term prices I left .... but on the way down, the lift broke down. It come to a shuddering, creaking halt. With no emergency lighting. In the dark. I was damn sure I could hear the support cables "pinging" apart one at a time. I used the phone to read the emergency number but there was no answer so I phoned the number on the business card they had given me. I could go into detail bla bla bla but it took at least 30 minutes to get me out. Gyms have caused me one divorce ...I really don't get on very well with them and am pleased to be a fat bastard nowadays!
