Checking out Hotel prices for my January trip. Looks good so far. Think I will stay at PPlus again. No issues with them in October. Going for a better,bigger room this time in case I need to entertain female company. I am already feeling sorry for my next victims, or will I be the victim ? 😁😁

I noticed a few GoGo bars closing at 3am in October but not many beer bars staying open past 2am. So it's already shifting since then.

I read an article recently in Bangkok Post suggesting that longer opening hours will commence from December 15th in certain areas including Pattaya. Bars in certain designated areas stay open until 4 am. Will interesting to see how that pans out and whether all bars will take up extended hours. I say that, because some bars are pretty empty at 2am and close on time, some earlier. But for busier bars and GoGos etc, I wonder what the effect will be? Of course during the Xmas/New Year period, there will be more tourists, so I guess the timing is right Whether this will generate more income to the area remains to be seen. Maybe some folk will start out later and stay out later. Would be interested to hear from those in town when or if it kicks in, in a couple of days, as to what's happening if you happen to be a night owl or nightcrawler

Planning my January/February2024 Thailand trip. Looking at dates and prices for Fljght and hotel. Hopefully will book tommorrow from prices given today. Part of my trip will be still high season as the back end will be low/mid. Will only book 3 days at hotel with Agoda and then do a cash deal for rest of trip. Works out better. Going for a better room this time, not much more expensive. A bigger room is neccessary for my famous Bukkake parties. 🤓 Recieved £500 winter heating payment in my account last week, so that will come in handy. Bit naughty to spend it on pleasure, I know but I didn't ask for it, comes with being a UK coffin dodger recieving State Pension. 😁😁

I have always liked the simple phrase..... "Shut the F*ck up" It is direct and high impact although it may occasionally end up with recieving a smack in the mouth 😁

Looking on Skyscanner for January flights it's freezing here in UK and can't wait to get away again. I will be glad when Xmas is over.

By the numbers of people (both tourists and expats) I have heard talk of Songkran, I wonder whether an elongated period could actually be counter productive and put many off who have experienced it. I am presuming that TAT have immigration figures for Songkran in its present form, but are assuming that a month of it will encourage 4 times the amount of tourists? More road deaths and accidents for sure That go up every year during the week long celebrations for a start. Then there is the excessive amount of water wastage. Plus of course, the boredom, even by the Thais of 4 weeks of chucking water about. When I first read the topic, I thought it was a joke 😃 but apparently not. I'm also not sure whether bars themselves make any more money during the Songkran week in Pattaya? More time spent on water fights than drinking. If I wanted to get wet every day, I would book a diving trip😉 Like most here, I always avoid the April Songkran period
