  1. The intersection- large field to filter out🙂
  2. Found a site that offers online tutors for around 400 baht and up for a 50 minutes online lesson. You get a decent mini resume of each teacher and the real bonus of being able to book a free trial lesson. https://preply.com/en/online/thai-tutors
  3. That's like Roberto Duran demanding all fights take place in a phone box- we've no chance🤩
  4. Used to cut through that Arcade often on my way back to August Suites, was a surprisingly popular little bar 🍺
  5. Great post and thanks. I could have given the Great Info badge, the Thanks, the Thumbs Up, the Suprised but settled on Sad for the experience of an elderly couple
  6. I can understand all of your criticisms. He has though done some decent stuff amongst all the chaff. Interesting he's settling on Cambodia, that did seem to be his first love, rather than LOS. Still he comes across as honest and decent that aren't qualities usually associated with the average blogger. Really don't get live streams unless you are ill or house bound with no immediate prospects if travel.
  7. I'd agree on Ed Sweeney(or Steady Eddie as he's now rebranded) being one of the better vloggers. Though like many he's suffered from running out of things to vlog or livestreaming that's never interested me Saw him once in Retox Game on ordering his breakfast. The girl who was serving was new the job I'd say. Nice the way he stayed patient and polite as the order dragged on. He comes across as very honest, particulary about his boozing.
  8. Damn, Toby Keith at 62. Can remember "Beer for My Horses" getting a regular airing in the Long Gun. And Larry playing him in Secrets, a great artist. R.I.P https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2024/feb/6/country-singer-toby-keith-has-died-after-battling-/
  9. Wow!!! How did you find that out mate?
  10. Some of s**t farangs believe out here is a constant source of unintended comedy. Amazing that old chesnut is still around, and the guys believe it !!! Whole load of farang here really do need protecting from themselves.
  11. Well it does include the FunktionOne sound system( I have no idea what that is 😀) that's listed as worth over 5,000,000 baht. So let's say $140,000 USD. It would seem looking at Google you can pick up this gear second hand and still have change from $10k USD. How good a sound system do you need in a prefab structure in TreeTown? Haggle the price down, staff it with stunners who work for free- it's a gold mine.
  12. Bench Saka Arsenal are over-rated, captain Solanke👍
  13. Thanks again. Now I'm learning basic vocabulary have realised how recall is aided by an image rather than trying to remember written text with no pictures!! Baby stuff but it works for me😀
  14. I've lived in London, Leeds and Hull most of my live- on no day have I seen anything as bad as some recent days in HH There seems to be a huge collective blindness or just plain stupidity in people behaviours. I've seen runners coming down the Petkasem Road in it. Doubt they have chest problems either(yet) Never heard an expat here talk about the pollution. People seem to carry on oblivous to the sight and the smell of it. But in the 3 months plus I've been here, generally it's been OK. I'm enjoying it here but am just seeing how I go really. I've got nowhere near your depth of experience living in Thailand/Asia and don't have your long term connection with HH. I it's obviously your choice mate🙂
  15. Amazing how he keeps turning out decent books, reviews well, hopefully a decent read for you🙂
  16. I don't profess to have any understanding of how it happens. Given how that becomes politicised my interest switches off. totally. There's been a couple of days in recent weeks here where the air has had that stink I remember from spending too long in Pattaya
  17. The air quality in recent weeks in HH has been pretty poor. Smog like haze in the air, I've been limiting the time spent outdoors some days. Very unscientific of me but everytime there's a bad day in HH, I'll have a look at the readings for Krabi or Phukhet, and there are always better- every single time. Maybe somewhere on the Adanman Coast would be a better place to live long term? Back on the central theme I'm still much preferring things to the current UK winter but Baz does make a good point about pollution being a negative.
  18. Assume you are referring to GoGos(?), think the staff only view excessive tippers as a soft touch to be a rinsed again. And they are correct of course🙂
  19. If you are heading to Hua Hin, get yourself to a doctor. I've had three recommendations for this place, from expats who've seen a doctor there/and/or had treatment there in the past few months https://bewell.co.th/ Myself I was there 2 weeks back but at their dental clinic(it's upstairs on the same site) Easy to get an appointment, very professional from first contact. As a guide on costs I had a check up, including an Xray as a new patient and a clean up for 1500 baht. Doctor's English was first class.
  20. One of both or your parents can know you better than you care to admit. Takes getting to a certain age to realise this unfortunately.
  21. I'd give it a miss myself. It's pretty grotty here in Hua Hin too. You can tell just from looking at the hills, they are shrouded in a haze. When it's like this I'll exercise indoors
  22. Wow https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68104699
  23. Did you realise that the Dark is 6.5%? It's lovely but I tend to go for the lager at 5% and finish on a Dark. Both way, way better than the standard Thai beers.
