  1. No doubt about it, snowmobiling is fun. Back in Feb 2020 at Lake Tahoe, wifey's first time ever. Letting her drive the thing was an adventure LOL!
  2. Ah yes, the gym indeed, where an old, aging, rock star can feel special at times....with a surprise visitor LOL!
  3. With gas prices in SFO, a real treat huh? LOL!
  4. Well, officially after watching the "safety" video, you do get 1 question about the segment you watched. 3 segments and the questions are really easy, so yes there is a test so to speak.
  5. Well in my case yesterday, it was 500 baht for the renewal, good for 5 years. I had to watch a 30 minute video on " safety" driving in Thailand..what a joke right? Then, had to go into the room where they put a few tests to you. Push the correct button when they flash yellow, green and red, then over to the driver table where you have 3 seconds to put on the brake when the light turns red. Really easy....
  6. Getting ready to go down to the Dept of Transportation......getting my Drivers License renewed.
  7. If anybody cares, got tickets yesterday to see Rod one last time. Glad he is coming here...this will be the 4th and last time we will see him. 1975, 1982, 1985 and 2024. Dam, he looks great for 78 years old. Should be good....wifey is happy.
  8. Yeah like alot of you, it is easy to get close to your best friend. I got made fun of alot by my friends, I did not have a "macho dog" like alot of them did, but I absolutely loved my Dachsund back in the day. Man he would get "bowed up" when anyone he was not familiar with, got anywhere near my kids when they were young. Still miss "Trent" to this day.
  9. Just got this pic from Phuong, second from right, Viet Coffee Shop owner back home. Tells me this was their night before Thanksgiving dinner photo. Now these gals.......know how to dress.
  10. I was not a "regular" at any one spot cause I was on tour back in the day. I obviously am not a regular anywhere here either for obvious reasons. But...one time in Pattaya around 2008, I was walking down the same area Cleator was hanging around. Saw a bevy of beauties that a few caught my attention. Walked over there and this one gal whom I thought was quite nice looking caught my attention. Man what a mistake that was, she "amped up" on something, probably Yabba. She could not keep quiet, was all over the place and it was very uncomfortable and then told me she wanted 2k baht tip? I told her she would get $1k, she went ballistic and called me a bunch of names.......these gals work like from 10:00am- 10:00pm 7 days per week. They have to have something to do as sitting around all day, alcohol, dope and Yabba seem to be their favorite friends.
  11. Wifey was out for girls night out last Sat....which always includes shopping. She gleefully tells me she got these at a good price at Siam. The fucking Yankees?? Yeah, what ever.....
  12. @Butch Yep, unfortunately as your body gets used to NOT working out, you lose everything you have gained. Sadly also age plays a big factor in it also, but I do not know how old you are, but you were doing well with your previous routine. I know for a fact my own body quite well. Like yesterday, went in there and just for some reason only God knows, my benchpress was pathetic. Just struggled..so on days like this that tells me, you lower your weight. I did and did 15 reps instead of 10. Check your ego at the door. For me too, a good nights sleep is important, I know that on those occasional nights where you are thinking about something, just kind of toss and turn all night etc. my time at the gym will not be good. Same thing with cardio, there are days when I just don't have it, I lower the speed and incline on the treadmill and run 10-15 minutes longer. Take your time getting back into it, you do not want any injuries. Watch the diet too. Chok Dee Mak..
  13. I use "Pom Kong Khun Suay Jung Krap" when I want to tell a Thai gal her hair is beautiful....they seem to like that alot. I had a guy at the gym teach me how to say "Are you being good for Mom today?" I struggle with that one, and am still working on it. He told me with the amount of good looking women here with kids and many "milfs" to choose from, you will immediately get a resounding response from her when she is with her kids. He is right, there are a few in the neighborhood here that are really attractive women. Same at the mall.
  14. Few weeks back, during the middle of the night ,wifey let's out a fart of epic proportions. Seriously enough to wake me up and I sleep well. I tell her the next morning, she says " Oh my God weally? I hab bad dream last night, you would not stop tickling me" Outstanding..
  15. @Glasseye What's up with you and the state of Illinois? Just curious.
  16. Wise man, cardio is a must for me and many others. Great for blood flow and feel so much better after. Well done.
  17. Marveling at the cool weather here in Bangkok....good lord, this is the way it is suppose to be. Going to go try a jog down at the park here in 45 minutes or so. We'll see how far I can run with relatively no humidity. Beats the shit out of the treadmill, that's for sure.
  18. Dam Alan, I just wish I had a "magic wand" to wave at you and make things better. Always hate to see people in situations you are in, realize they want better, but struggle to get out of it. You have my respect for sticking it out and we all hope for the day when we hear from you that you are doing much better.
  19. @Lemondropkid Hey LDK, this gal at the gym and I were just talking about this subject a few weeks back. She tells me that you really need someone in a "one on one" situation to really learn. She was asking me about how I was doing learning? I told her I struggle, and she also told me and my wife told me the same, that is NOT to try to learn Thai using English characters. I find You Tube videos to help me. I can run and re-run them and I do. Wifey tells me that she is convinced I could learn to be fluent, as what I do speak, I speak well she tells me. This gal "Fa" told me she worked with a guy from Germany that lives in her neighborhood for 2 years. He is married to a Thai gal. He would come over every Sat for 2 hours, she would give him assignments to work on during the week that his wife helped him with and he now speaks, reads and writes fluently. She showed me a video of him, I am impressed. Fa speaks perfect English, has a Bachelors Degree in Engineering and works as a Design Engineer at a company called "Control Logic" here. She is nice to look at too. If you ever re-locate here, she might be able to help you??
  20. That was the opening number back on Feb 2011 here at Impact Arena. God, The Eagles were good. It was on this night, that I realized how great they were and the harmonies from these guys especially on this number really stood out. Glenn Frey was still around and so glad I took wifey to see them. Every number they played that night was just done to perfection.....truly amazing. One other caveat from that evening, this was the first night of their SE Asia tour back in 2011, they were in Bangkok, rented out Impact Arena for the entire week to rehearse. How do I know? Joe Walsh told everyone. He also told everyone that this a great country, they love this place and he "might have to get a part time job" as his wife was buying a ton of 23ct Jewelry while here. My wife loves me for ever now, she told me after this show, I believe her, cause she's not like other Thai girls...she doesn't tell lies. LOL! https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/eagles/2011/impact-arena-muang-thong-thani-bangkok-thailand-63d226ff.html
  21. That sounds like a great night out...........I look forward to it.
  22. @galenkia Well said Eric, Alan, even though we have never met in person, I can tell you are a class act and you have been through alot and overcome some serious things in your life, you got alot of friends here. I would hope one day, you would come back here to LOS and we could meet up. We will not drink any alcohol, and STILL have a great time. I will tell all the girls you used to be in "The Bay City Rollers" I know you got the accent, we can pull this off
